    New Iowa caucus poll

Very, very few people were fired for not getting vaccinated. The very few that were, it was because they worked in fields where they exposed many vulnerable people (old, already sick) by refusing to be vaccinated, like firefighters and EMTs. I do understand your concern but you’re acting like it was widespread, when it wasn’t, and you’re refusing to acknowledge there was a global pandemic at play that killed millions of people in this country. The lockdown was brief, like maybe two weeks at most? Again, it was a public health emergency. It wasn’t something people did just for the fock of it. And by the way basically every state did it, red blue whatever. It was the state and local levels that made those decisions. They just wanted a scapegoat for it, which you’ve bought hook line and sinker as basically a MAGA drone.

That’s not the same as “lock down”. Words matter. Also all of that mostly happened under Trump
  3. This isn’t defensible, imo. If you’re concerned about all the crazy ass lies coming of Trump’s mouth (and there are many), then you deal with that through “fact checking” and/or commentary. It is admittedly less than ideal but to just refuse to air a newsworthy event is by far the worse option

First sentence makes you sound like an enormous crybaby b1tch. Also quite stupid as you weren’t “forced” into damn near anything. Second sentence makes you sound even dumber since “big tech” is private business

Which Wild Card loss was most embarrassing?

Eagles have the Super Bowl hangover excuse. Cowboys?

Forced lockdowns? What for like a week four years ago? Get over it Nancy.

Baker Mayfield may still be a franchise QB.

I agree that they definitely shouldn’t have stood for that diva WR crap

I think you have the right key moment but somewhat of the wrong lesson from it. Brown was b1tching at Hurts because he was playing poorly, which he did for a good part of the year. It should’ve been a harbinger. Now they still should’ve told Brown to fock off, but the issue was Hurts.

    Kelce retiring

Trav ought to hang em up too. The dropoff will be steep

    New Iowa caucus poll

I’m not surprised. The whole point of this thread was there might’ve been a way she could challenge Trump, emphasis on *might*. But a strong second place finish in Iowa was the springboard, and we now have a semi-failed launch

Giving up the farm for Watson was dumb. Baker still is what he is. A bit too limited to be a top guy. Capable of playing like a bottom tier guy. Comes out to mediocre in the end, maybe slightly better than most of the other mediocre QBs

Haley needed a strong second place finish. Not relative to Trump, but relative to DeSantis. She didn’t get it.

    New Iowa caucus poll

Not DeSantis. He’s got no charisma
  14. True, that one was bad. Along with Hilary’s basket of deplorables and Romney’s 50% of the country can’t be helped. All very damaging
  15. Yeah I covered that. He deigned to weigh in on race issues. It wasn’t smart, as he should’ve known a decent segment of the population would lose their fockin minds over it

Yep. Global average temperature has risen by 1.5 degrees Celsius. They say it’s catastrophic at 2. It’s called science. Check it out sometime

You’ve got to get rid of the tinfoil and look at this through the lens of reality. The media is interested in the horse race and reporting on it. Because that’s their job and because people are interested. So yeah, it sells papers, but it also promotes democracy by reporting on the process. And that’s a good thing. As to your conspiracy theory, Trump can pick whatever VP he wants. Now there certainly are a lot of people that hope he picks a rational person who respects our democratic institutions. Because, remember, in a way Mike Pence was all who stood in the way of Trump’s attempt to overthrow the government following his loss in 2020. So yeah, some of us would like to make sure that there’s another person in there who will try to stop any other attempts he might make to destroy democracy, should he end up president again. That’s 100% rational and sane
  18. So they were punished. Good. I guess your complaint is what Clinton and Obama did 10-30 years ago? I’m just not really seeing the relevance. But hey, if you want to take up a charge to get a constitutional amendment passed to get rid of the pardon power, then go for it. That’s how you deal with that complaint, not by trying to excuse what happened on January 6 and Trump’s role in it
  19. That’s absurd. Obama was great for what he represented to our country, though unfortunately the backlash has been fierce. But as president, he was middling. He did not start any new wars but he also didn’t end them. He ramped up drone strikes. He declared a red line in Syria but then he failed to back his word. He got the racists all in a tizzy by taking positions and making statements that were pretty mild but predictably led to division. He got us on a path to universal healthcare with the ACA but it was a half-measure. I’m clear eyed on Obama’s faults. Are you clear eyed on his virtues? Are you clear eyed on Trump’s faults?
  20. Again, your whataboutism is dumb. It does not diminish the events of January 6. If you think those other things are just as bad, then do what you can to address them
  21. Okay, take it up with Pedo Bill. I ain’t gonna defend him
  22. Okay, fair enough. Beginning was 2010ish, 2016 was an inflection point and you were fully committed by 2018 or so. I guess, bottom line, in my eyes, you used to be a reasonable poster. Not one I agreed with very often but clear-eyed and rational in your viewpoints. I don’t see that anymore, like for instance where you support comparing attacks on police officers, sacking the capital, and seeking to kill the vice president to a run of the mill throng outside the White House gates. To me, that indicates a person that has lost all perspective and rationality. But you are right, I don’t want to engage in personal insults and that’s not what I’m trying to do here. It is a little tough because I am fundamentally suggesting that you have MAJORLY lost your way, which is, yes, perhaps a bit insulting from your perspective, but ultimately my only point is I’d like to see you make your way back towards the path of reason. Not that we have to agree on the issues — because that’s not likely to happen often — but that we are based in reality when discussing them. Because I do think you’re better than a lot of these other MAGA types who’ve gleefully given in.
  23. You whataboutism is stupid. I’m against all acts of violence, criminality and vandalism. Including when they were led on by the US President and current candidate to return to office
