But the bottom line to her, and at this point I agree, is that Israel needs to cease indiscriminately killing civilians and trying to raise a city of two million people. Everything Hamas did and continues to do is horrible but the Israeli response is killing tens of thousands of innocent women and children and may be tantamount to genocide.

Thanks for posting the video I heard her say very first thing that of course rape is horrible and she condemns Hamas’ use of it. “Absolutely.” Her point is that we can’t just focus on that and use it as justification for killing 15,000 Palestinian civilians along with displacing hundreds of thousands more. Seems like a fair point to me. I’m certainly not on Hamas’ side but there unquestionably will come a point where the response is too much in terms of civilian deaths and suffering

I don’t think it’s changed quite as much as you’d like to think. Yes in society generally, these types of behaviors have become less acceptable, and that’s a good thing. But in some subsets it’s still alive and well. It does not sound to me like the college Greek system has truly changed appreciably, for example. And you’ve got some that would like to unwind the clock even further. These right wing incel types that think women should be property and owe men something. We’ve seen one of them in this very thread already. There’s a lot of em out there and they’re gaining influence every day
