Down goes another one: WashingtonCNN — Former Trump campaign lawyer Jenna Ellis has pleaded guilty in the Georgia election subversion case to one count of aiding and abetting false statements and will cooperate with Fulton County prosecutors. Prosecutors are recommending five years of probation and for Ellis to pay $5,000 in restitution. Ellis delivered a tearful statement to the judge Tuesday while pleading guilty, disavowing her participation in former President Donald Trump’s unprecedented attempts to overturn the 2020 election. “If I knew then what I knew now, I would have declined to represent Donald Trump in these post-challenges. I look back on this experience with deep remorse,” Ellis said, her voice breaking at times. She also said, “I failed to do my due diligence.”

It’s a nice story but let’s not get too carried away here. So far Bagent is averaging 5.7 yards per attempt, which puts him 34th in the league. That’s not going to get you very far if it doesn’t improve. -
Hell yeah I assume this is her? https://m.soundcloud.com/samira-rajab-1

Yeah that’s probably fair. Back in the day they would’ve suffered for lack of journalistic standards but those have slipped badly. These days it’s all about being first and then it’s nice if you’re accurate too

Wow that’s a huge about-face. Guess Trump couldn’t risk any more damage after Jordan couldn’t win with his endorsement

Borderline startable as flex in 12 team leagues, given BYEs and injuries, especially if his arrow continues to point up

I purposefully didn’t open that thread. Was pretty obvious where it was going to go with the usual suspects here

It is well said, and one of the primary reasons we’ve been asking you guys to support Ukraine even though Trump’s butt buddy Putin is on the other side. Glad you see it my way now And yes, absolutely the US should (and does) support Israel as well

So there’s the hard line approach. Fortunately you’re not in a position of power. And if you were, I suspect you’d have to moderate yourself a bit. Feels good taking the hard line approach when it really doesn’t matter and you’d never actually do it anyways. But for the adults, we have to deal with the grey areas

Obviously there’s a line somewhere. If Israel was going to nuke Gaza and all its 1.3 million people, you would probably oppose that, I’m guessing? So the question is, where is the line. Reasonable minds can differ, I don’t think anyone really has the 100% complete and accurate answer to that question right now

It’s right near the top and, for a newspaper, I’d say it’s a pretty full apology. Certainly doesn’t undo the damage from the initial false reporting, but I thought it was interesting. Of course you guys won’t be satisfied regardless. It’s aimed more at centrists, who probably figure it’s good that they’ve acknowledged the error, hope they’ll take something from it, but realize that can’t unwind that clock and they definitely did fock up.

Editors’ note from The NY Times: On Oct. 17, The New York Times published news of an explosion at a hospital in Gaza City, leading its coverage with claims by Hamas government officials that an Israeli airstrike was the cause and that hundreds of people were dead or injured. The report included a large headline at the top of The Times’s website. Israel subsequently denied being at fault and blamed an errant rocket launch by the Palestinian faction group Islamic Jihad, which has in turn denied responsibility. American and other international officials have said their evidence indicates that the rocket came from Palestinian fighter positions. The Times’s initial accounts attributed the claim of Israeli responsibility to Palestinian officials, and noted that the Israeli military said it was investigating the blast. However, the early versions of the coverage — and the prominence it received in a headline, news alert and social media channels — relied too heavily on claims by Hamas, and did not make clear that those claims could not immediately be verified. The report left readers with an incorrect impression about what was known and how credible the account was. The Times continued to update its coverage as more information became available, reporting the disputed claims of responsibility and noting that the death toll might be lower than initially reported. Within two hours, the headline and other text at the top of the website reflected the scope of the explosion and the dispute over responsibility. Given the sensitive nature of the news during a widening conflict, and the prominent promotion it received, Times editors should have taken more care with the initial presentation, and been more explicit about what information could be verified. Newsroom leaders continue to examine procedures around the biggest breaking news events — including for the use of the largest headlines in the digital report — to determine what additional safeguards may be warranted.

Bunch of nuts the republicans are choosing between now. Most all of em voted against certifying the 2020 presidential election results. Emmer might be okay though?
-
Considering Trump got 74 million, there’s not a ton of leeway there. So you were either making some stupid ass claim like he didn’t get 81 million but he got 79 million , or you were saying he didn’t win. At least have the fockin balls to stand behind it
-
I’m saying you get a distorted sense of reality from this, and I’m right
-
Imagine refusing to vote for someone for Speaker of the United States House of Representatives because they acknowledge that the results of the last presidential election were what they were. Republicans are so far gone it’s insane
-
Uh oh looks like somebody didn’t get the memo. Trump is behind Butthead, I mean Gaetz, and the pedo-supporter Jim Jordan, so you should be too. Sorry, I don’t make the rules

The behavior is likely despicable. I’m not going to fact check all these so I’ll go ahead and assume they don’t have a legitimate reason to remove the posters. However, what happens is you guys see this all over social media because it gets reposted and commented on and sent round and round until you’re worked up into a lather believing there are pro-Hamas Jew haters tearing down posters on every street corner in America. It distorts your reality, and badly so. I don’t think that’s particularly helpful I mean, bottom line, the US is squarely behind Israel, as they should be, which you can see from our willingness to send aid, reposition battle ships, etc., which I’m sure the vast majority of this country supports. It’s too bad there are some bigoted, ill-informed people in the colleges and amongst some democrats (and republicans, see our very own CDub), but it is not having any consequential effect and thank goodness for that.
