Clyburn was basically pitching Harris. I think they were informed that Biden would not, under any circumstances, resign, and decided the only course was to circle the wagons. Now I would’ve doubled down, but that’s typically a very risky play in politics.

Biden is basically holding them hostage, is the issue. What is the leadership supposed to do? If they come out and go full bore on this guy *has* to drop out, but then he doesn’t, well now he’s been mortally wounded but is still at the top of the ticket.
