CNN — Justice Samuel Alito was not present on Friday morning as the Supreme Court handed down opinions in the courtroom, the second day in a row he has been absent. Alito’s absence, for which the Supreme Court has not provided an explanation, is unusual because it’s the end of the term and the justices have issued nine opinions over the last two days. One of the opinions on Friday included upholding a federal law that bars guns for domestic abusers, rejecting an argument pressed by gun rights groups that the prohibition violated the Second Amendment. Alito has been in the news recently for controversial flag displays outside of his properties, including a US flag that was flown inverted outside the justice’s home in 2021 and another flag that was on display during the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol that was flown outside Alito’s vacation home in New Jersey. They should’ve mentioned the “gifts” and delayed disclosure forms as well. Actually the latter might be interesting as he got a 90 day extension for this year and is the only Justice who hasn’t filed it yet

And now he is facing a four-count federal felony indictment for blowing the whistle on Texas Children’s Hospital, where he worked while a resident.” Uh huh yeah right, they indicted him explicitly for being a whistleblower Then it’s only in a roundabout way you can possibly discern it was for alleged HIPAA violations but “we don’t know the precise nature” Look I get it. If the hospital said they wouldn’t do it but then they were still doing it, and this guy blew the whistle on it, that would be noteworthy for sure. But maybe he also at least arguably broke the law in the process? But of course we have to wonder if the charges are legitimate since he may also have been a whistleblower. There’s plenty to work with there so no need to be disingenuous or hide the ball

Did a little digging, this seems to be a less slanted summary of the issue from USA Today: Is the government silencing Haim for political reasons or for violating HIPAA? The indictment accuses Haim of illegally accessing patient records, and doing so under false pretenses. If that proves to be accurate, Haim needs to be held accountable. However, Haim's objective − to blow the whistle on Texas Children's Hospital − raises the question of whether his alleged wrongdoing should be taken into account, because the hospital continued treatments on transgender minors when it said it would stop. HIPAA violations should be taken seriously. But "up to 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000 maximum possible fine" for exposing the hospital's alleged wrongdoing seems excessive. The care of transgender minors is fraught with complicated issues. Unlike adults, children, who are still legally minors and who in many cases have yet to reach puberty, cannot truly give informed consent and cannot know what they might want when they become adults. It's vital that ongoing discussions take place among medical providers, youth, their families and policymakers. I highly doubt the “facts” as presented here are accurate. If they are, yeah that’s bullsh1t. But I suspect there’s quite a bit more to the story

First off, Pittman isn’t “my man.” Second, you have to look at game logs. ‘22 was just not good for a supposed WR1. ‘21 end of season looks good but game logs tell you he was actually a dud most of the year. Anyway, just sayin, he had some very mediocre years there for a WR1.

Evans was good last year but kinda sh1tty the two years before that. Had a few monster games and otherwise a lot of duds.

Pittman was not great with ARich last year. Now you’d think ARich should be a better passer this year. But he wasn’t much of a passer in college either so it might just be who he is
