I came in this thread wondering the same thing. My son called me from Colorado Springs today. He works on one base and lives on the other. It's about a 20 minute drive usually, but today it rained and then snowed/froze on top of it along with a ton of snow. He was pretty nervous driving and wanted me to talk with him on the way home. No probs... I was nervous for him too! But... we made it fine. Hahah... I told him we need to get him a cold weather sleeping bag etc... just stay/sleep in the back room next time. Don't leave base until the roads aren't so jacked.
