Oh yeah, the flu. I meant to get the shot this year, but I learned from @MTSkiBumthat it only lasts for a few months, so the trick is to time it right. They start advertising it in September, which is fairly useless. Mostly I wanted to get it so that I wouldn't contaminate my diabetic daughter, the one who lives in NYC and is visiting us now for the holidays. Well... something knocked her out in the middle of the night. She thinks it was food poisoning; she had oysters while out with friends last night (although one friend also ate them and feels fine). Thing is, she has always reacted to fever by throwing up, so it's hard to diagnose. Wasn't me, I feel fine. She has basically slept all day. I hope she feels better when she wakes up.

Vouch. I've had my head darn near cut off in a laryngectomy, and chemotherapy, and by far the worst I've felt in all of this experience was vertigo. I actually did PT where they toss your head in different directions to move the crystals in your inner ear, and dadgum if it didn't work! But before that, I wanted to die. What made it particularly sucktastic was that it was after my lary but before chemo, and I had been training hard for Pat's Run, a 4.2 mile charity run for the Pat Tillman foundation. It was spring of 2021 so Covid, so they did the run remotely (basically, pick your own route). We had good options by our house for 1, 2.1, and 4.2 mile routes, so we sponsored a party/run for our gym at our house. I was looking forward to showing my gym buddies that I wasn't going to let this cancer thing stop me. Instead I sat there like a focking invalid watching everyone spin around in circles and trying not to puke.

I just picked up two prescriptions from CVS; I only use them because they are the preferred supplier of my health care company. That being said, it's hard to imagine they have a robust future. I suspect all of the overpriced stuff in their store is a loss leader so people kill time while their prescriptions are filled. But companies like Amazon, Costco, Walmart all do prescriptions now, and they must be eating into the prescription businesses of the pharmacy chains (CVS and Walgreens here, I know Rite Aid is big in other places).

We really enjoyed the first season, and I don't think we even knew there was a second let alone a third. I'll mention it to the wife and we'll put it on the list. I think we are caught up in the other series we are watching together (Dune Prophecy, The Rings of Power, and House of the Dragon), so maybe we'll start it soon.

My dad did musicals in the local theater. The only one I remember was Fiddler on the Roof. I don't recall another until I moved to Phoenix after college, and we saw Les Miz. I had read the book, a classic, and thought meh, can't be too bad. I was hooked, and it remains my favorite musical to this day. We try to see a show on Broadway when we go back to visit our daughter in NY. We also saw Hades Town (very good), and last trip we saw Tommy (great if you are a fan of The Who and the rock opera as I am; hard for me to evaluate otherwise). Good for you doing the plays.

Hard to say. Didn't she also say that the whole story sucked, and that the idea of being rescued by a prince was toxic masculinity or some such shiot? I feel like she didn't endear herself to fans of the movie from the get go.

That's why God made different women for us to ogle. Oddly, most of my favorite hot actresses are Latina or dirty white (Italian, etc.). And I'm 1/2 pollack. But I don't find this Snow Brown attractive in the least.

I've never seen either; this spring will be the first time. The musical was the first I ever heard of Idina Menzel; I heard Defying Gravity and was like, WTF, that's not a human voice! She is the GOAT of female Broadway singers IMO.

I can kinda see both sides of this. The Left doesn't like the underlying premise that "the whiter, the prettier," so their message is that beauty comes in all colors. The Right is concerned that this is yet another example of the Left saying "truth" is whatever they say it is -- white is brown, boys are girls, Kamala is eloquent. Also, as @IGotWormsjust said, let the white folks have Snow White and make more Encantos, Moanas, Mulans... My girls are grown so I'll never see it. Doesn't much matter to me.

Oppenheimer was OK being long because it was a great movie. This, I dunno... at least it is showing at our "dinner and a movie" place which serves alcohol so...

One benefit of his posts IMO is you get insight into what a pure, 24K Leftist thinks. I mean, he honestly thinks Trump is going to be a dictator based on his comments; he has no interest whatsoever to learning the context or surrounding statements regarding day one only -- Trump says he will be a dictator, and he believes them! His almost exclusive source of info is some uber Leftist named Kyle Griffin from MSNBC. He thinks all trans are from birth with not environmental influence. He is the essence of the modern Leftist. Knowledge is power. It's good to know how such people think.

I'm with the lefties here. Quit this poosay talk about banning people. And while we're at it, quit reporting people. This is the main thing that separates us from FBG. We are the wild west. I don't even interact with @squistion. He has me on ignore allegedly because I called him an idiot once, even though he responds to people who call him worse every day. The real reason he ignores me is that I've biotch slapped him so many times, and in so many ways, that he has PTSD from our discussions.
