Appreciate the response. You should have stuck with Rand, Regarding visiting the Reagan library... from, say, 1998 to 2010, and again from 2017 to 2020, I went to SoCal all the time. Like, three out of four weeks for a few days a week. I did a terrible job of taking advantage of a lot of dead time between customer visits, to visit things like Reagan's Library. I wish I could go back and tell myself to not be so lazy about such things.

Did the title change on this? I looked at my posts on the first few pages and they have nothing to do with Kari Lake. There is no focking way that Kari Lake beats Ruben Gallego for the AZ senate seat. Lake is nice eye candy but not electable, yet the idiots of the AZ Republican party keep throwing her out there. We had a conservative gubernatorial candidate who would have beaten the drying paint that is Katie Hobbs last time around, and we had a conservative candidate who would very likely beaten Gallego this time, but no, people keep throwing Lake out there to lose.

It has always reminded me of a story my uncle once told me about being a traveling salesman, probably in the 1950s or so. He cycled his car through the midwest every month visiting customers and prospects. One prospect used a competitive product and was happy with it, but he was willing to meet my uncle. My uncle scheduled the visit on every trip just to touch base, knowing full well that the guy was not likely to buy. Then one day, my uncle showed up, and the prospect said, "my supplier totally screwed me over, want a shot at my business?" And so began a new customer. I respect your willingness to continue posting in your Bible thread, despite seemingly no interest from anyone here. But maybe, one day, a poster might feel screwed over by what life has dealt him, and he'd give you a shot at his business.

I think that the Harris ad about the women secretly voting for her instead of Trump, while humorous, is statistically untrue. My sense is that there is way more of this going on than women feeling browbeat into voting for Trump but their domineering husbands.

I've got a few neighbors with yards littered with signs, all liberal. There are three candidates that show up as a group in all these yards. I voted for... not them.

Lucky you. One I voted for is a change in the requirements to get an initiative on the ballot. Currently it is 15% of the population statewide needs to sign a petition for a constitutional amendment (less for other initiatives). The proposed change would be 15% from each county, or maybe legislative district. With the current method, people just focus on Phoenix, a little bit Tucson, because that's where the population density is. But that kinda leaves the rest of the state without a voice. Also, the change will make it harder because they'll have to get 15% of, I dunno, the Navajo nation to sign it. Also, I have officially voted!

In AZ, our absentee ballots are tracked automatically. I get both a text and email notifying me when my ballot is mailed to me, when they receive mine back, and when it is counted. I don't need to proactively track anything. New this year is that they've had some polling places open early. I chose to drop mine off at such a place instead of mail it in. That was earlier this week, and I was surprised by the steady stream of people voting. I couldn't imaging voting in person this time around. Our ballot was two large sheets of paper, front and back. In addition to all of the federal, state, county, and city positional elections, we had over 10 state constitutional amendments, another 10 initiatives from the state/county/city, a bunch of judges... if you went into the booth without having researched it, you would be there for an hour or more. On a side note, my basic strategy was to vote "no" on constitutional amendments unless the amendment makes it harder to propose an amendment; those I voted "yes" for. I don't understand AZ's obsession with amendments. We have legislatures whose job it is to make laws.
