Trump II: The Most Consequential in Modern History
jerryskids replied to jonmx's topic in The Geek Club
Pretty good list. I need to learn more about the crypto one. -
As you said, nobody knew his background. He could have been a model citizen having a bad day. Or he could have been a homicidal maniac who was about to pull a gun out and start shooting people. This is why we have the concept of legal assault: You do not need to wait to get punched in the face to hit someone. If they are threatening immediate harm, you can defend yourself. This may be why the jury found him not guilty on the lesser charges.

Does MAGA have a problem with teh gheys or no?
jerryskids replied to IGotWorms's topic in The Geek Club
Perfectly. It's exactly like I said. You are merely wording it differently. And you maintain this faulty logic that if you voted for Trump, you are probably MAGA, and by MAGA you mean a cult follower of Trump. You've repeatedly said that if we/I voted for Trump, you voted for and support all of his positions and alleged behaviors. Yet you say that you get to pick and choose. From yesterday: I'd go on but I feel like we're back to the "this one goes to 11" scene from Spinal Tap, so I'll stop now. HTH -

jerryskids replied to IGotWorms's topic in The Geek Club
Sorry, I meant Harris, To summarize your post: that's not the logic, but it is the logic with MAGA because it is a cult, and if you voted for Trump, you follow most of his stuff and are in the cult.. Leftism isn't a cult, even if you live in an echo chamber and voted for the most progressive member of the Senate whose only actual identified policies were ultra-left. How'd I do? -

LOL, what dumb logic. Also, you voted for Biden, so you support transing the kids. Whee! There are plenty of gays in the MAGA movement; podcaster Dave Rubin is a front and center one. Some might also say Bari Weiss, although she is traditionally center/left, but she's right of Mao so radical Lefties like Gutter consider her MAGA. -
What does the media do now and when does it start?
jerryskids replied to supermike80's topic in The Geek Club
I already responded to the topic before this one. Also, doesn't she have a job? Wasn't she elected to help run the US, especially since she should have 25th'd Biden years ago? -

If only we could look forward to 4 years of the clarity that is a Kamala Harris response. At the risk of sidetracking, I wonder what she is doing these days. I bet her computer solitaire game is killer. -

We had this discussion recently; IMO you are both correct. Whoever runs for the Reps will be labeled as worse than Trump. More specifically, worse than Trump because of the same bad policies but they are more effective speakers/leaders, so they can get more of their dangerous fascist blah blah blah done! We already saw this with DeSantis when he seemed to be the front runner a few years back. -
I did? I voted for a guy who appointed conservative justices who decided abortion was a state issue. In Arizona, because of the amendment to the state constitution, women have more freedom to kill their unborn child than ever before. Isn't that great, Gutter?! More dead babies, whee! How are things in Jersey, are abortions outlawed yet? That same man has appointed women as chief of staff (first ever) and AG. He also has strong, capable daughers and daughters in-law. Trump likes confident, capable people, doesn't matter if they are male or female.
-
Politics aren't already injected into this proceeding?
-
Center-right conservative guy would be happy that his young son was convinced by woke teachers that he is a girl? Seems normal.

Some witnesses didn't feel threatened, so he wasn't a threat? Brilliant, Clarence Darrow! Also, you clearly have no women or other people in your life who could use protecting in such a situation. My daughter rides the subway in NYC every day and I thank God for men like Daniel Penny who haven't become beta cucks. You should do the same, because you aren't protecting any of your loved ones with your attitude. Also also, I like how you ignore my posts, allegedly because I called you an idiot once, yet you respond to jbycho (seafoam) who insults you with every post. The real reason you ignore me is that you have no substantive response to me, ever. George Orwell: “People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.” Have a nice night.

United Healthcare CEO shot, killed in midtown NYC
jerryskids replied to IGotWorms's topic in The Geek Club
Thanks, but not seeing it. There are no scandals within the Trump family that I know of. Whereas the Biden family is a shiot show. But the MSM never talks about how well-adjusted the Trump kids and their spouses are. Let me know if you agree or disagree. -
Can you elaborate on this? I haven't been following this thread too closely, are there (respected) posters here saying it was a racist thing?

Discussion of Concerns for Trump Presidency
jerryskids replied to jerryskids's topic in The Geek Club
I don't know what he claimed. He claims a lot of stuff. He might try, which would probably accelerate it to SCOTUS. I honestly think this is an important topic which needs to be addressed. And it's clearly a federal issue, so they won't just kick it back to the states. -
SCOTUS seems to be staying consistent with their position on abortion, saying this is too contentious an issue to make a federal precedent for, much like I expect they'll do in supporting Tennessee's ban. If you don't like this law in Wisconsin, and you shouldn't, you are free to move to a state which recognizes the importance of parental involvement in gender-denying issues.

Discussion of Concerns for Trump Presidency
jerryskids replied to jerryskids's topic in The Geek Club
I did some research on this, interesting stuff. Regarding a constitutional amendment... possibly, but maybe not. It might come down to interpretation of the language of the 14th amendment, and this court may see fit to interpret it differently. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_v._Wong_Kim_Ark -

Discussion of Concerns for Trump Presidency
jerryskids replied to jerryskids's topic in The Geek Club
These are all valid concerns; my thoughts: 1. I don't think he's going to just make up reasons to prosecute people, and I suspect very few will happen. I can't help but laugh tho, that the only difference between this and the multiple spurious criminal and civil cases against Trump, is that he said it out loud. Actually I think Bragg ran on a platform of getting Trump, but that's OK because Trump is the mean orange bad guy, amirite?! Regarding the 1/6 folks, I agree with pardoning all but the actual bad people of which there were a few, as has been said earlier. 2. I'm kinda intrigued by this. I think if we limited birthright citizenship to those here legally (permanent residents, H1B, student visas), that would do more to stem the tide of illegal immigration than any attempts to mass deport people, and it's kinda free. Take away the incentives, take away the problems. I would concede making it active moving forward and let the Dreamers become citizens as a compromise. I would not agree to including "asylum seekers" in the group here legally, as that is being significantly abused. Deal? 3. Ukraine, NATO... seems like "art of the deal" kinda stuff. He's not going to leave NATO, but he will work to broker a deal with Putin and Ukraine, the obvious solution of which is to let Putin keep Crimea and Donbass, allow people who want to to move from those areas into Ukraine (with some funding to set up a new life), and allow Ukraine to enter NATO. Shiot, I should do this for a living! 4. Tariffs I've talked about, I think it's mostly more "art of the deal" stuff, he's trying to pressure China, Mexico, etc. to come to the table. I also think if he tries something and it doesn't work, he'll undo it. Like I said in an earlier thread, tariffs can change with the swipe of a pen. -

Before I forget, I'm golfing with Bert tomorrow, he and his wife are in town. This will be our third meetup I think; once here, the other in Vegas when we happened to be there at the same time. Wednesday, we and our wives are going to a good local steakhouse for dinner. Anyway, I don't remember that thread, but it reminds me of something I meant to post upthread when somebody mentioned Bavaria. In college and shortly thereafter, I only drank crap beer because I didn't know any better. So if I did go to Union Bay, I'm sure I drank Bud or something pathetic. That all changed when I went to Bavaria as part of a Munich work trip and the local marketing guy took us to Andechs Abbey. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andechs_Abbey I figured when in Rome errr... Bavaria, and tried some super dark, alcoholic, nectar of the gods. I was like Barney with his first beer on the Simpsons. Looks like it was completed in 1423, so probably the oldest building I've drunk in, although there was an awesome restaurant in Rome built on a buried Jewish synagogue called Spirito Divino, if anyone goes to Rome (they used it remains for their wine cellar) -

I agree with that post. It's clear that the secular Left has replaced God with new religions: climate change, gender destroying care, etc.
