This should be good... care to defend this assertion? I read the LA Times op ed pablum that seems to have started the ball rolling; her main argument seems to be that some racists support Elder, ergo Elder is a racist. If somehow you slog through to the end of the article, she says his (libertarian) objection to 3 policies are examples as well: https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2021-08-27/larry-elders-recall-fans-prove-hes-face-white-supremacy Got any actual evidence? Because this isn't it.

I know more adult Disney fans than I care to admit -- none of them strike me as a "sniper on the roof" kinda person. That being said, your logic is flawed. Every politician has upset parts of his/her constituency, that comes with the territory. Most don't get shot though, because they aren't the evil Nazi dictator threat to democracy that Trump (or DeSantis or...) is.

Here's another good one: Larry Elder, conservative from @purdygood's state of CA, was a "white supremacist!" (yeah, he's black). https://www.google.com/search?q=larry+elder+white+supremacist&oq=larry+elder+white+supremacist&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOdIBCDYxMzlqMGo3qAIAsAIA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

I may have said that. It has nothing to do with my point. If DeSantis had won the nom and the MSDNC continued it's assault of "he's Trumpier than Trump$#@!", are you saying there would not have been assassination attempts on him?

Can you really jihad a book for a guy described by that obituary? People reading whatever we wrote would think "well, yeah." -

Whoever wrote that... we need to get posting here. -
I said "MSDNC", a reference to the fact that the main stream media is in the hip pockets of the DNC. Florida is a mess? Says the guy from California? In the time it took me to write this, 20 more people moved out of CA. Regardless, thanks for proving my point. Apparently it's ANYONE but Trump... or DeSantis... or like the article said, whoever the Republicans ran.

Silence is actually very powerful in negotiations; I've used it quite often in my life, both work and personal. People hate silence. They'll fill it with words, which often acquiesce to your points.
-
Sorry, but while this is popular to say, it's just false. Whoever ran for the Republicans would be vilified by the MSDNC as "worse than Trump$#@!" Don't believe me? Remember when DeSantis looked like the Republican candidate? Great article by the Hill describing my point: https://thehill.com/opinion/campaign/4030670-desantis-is-the-greatest-threat-to-america-ever-until-the-next-guy/ We would be sitting here with you telling us that if the Republicans nominated ANYONE but DeSantis, he'd have your vote.

I appreciate the differentiation you are making. That being said, in your model, how long do you think they could have delayed certification to make a substantive difference? Would a few hours give Trump's legal team enough time to find a new legal straw with which to steal the election? Also, I would argue that most people, the vast majority, were caught up in the mob mentality, not going in with some specific purpose. -
67 degrees is the perfect temperature to keep your house
jerryskids replied to Frozenbeernuts's topic in The Geek Club
I'd have to go look at our winter setting but basically this. We definitely do 75 in the summer. Yeah, we are 100+ all summer; today was a chilly 95. We are lucky that our current house is quite energy efficient, so 75 is not a strain on our AC or pocketbooks. Our last house was much larger, higher ceilings, and less efficient overall. We kept that at 78. It's not that bad once you get used to it. Sucks for people who visit though. -
Trump talk only- no Eagles talk allowed (Steelers talk is OK though)

I thought I was your good friend? I answer your questions all the time. I just don't respond well to presumptive statements like I have to or need to, to answer your new question before you'll address mine. If there is something in this sub-discussion I have not answered for you, let me know. Otherwise, I'll presume you just made it up. I tried a simple Google search and nothing was apparent. But I figured since you said it with such conviction, you had some receipts. -

If by you>me, you mean that if you just type "Brown" you presume people know that means Chase Brown and not first round pick AJ Brown, then yes, you are da bomb. -

I just said that perhaps "favorability" was the wrong word. I'm not sure what else to say. That being said, the video does focus a lot on her issues with messaging to men. -

OK. You said that there are more people guided by the Bible and overly believe in Trump than you would like. I said there are more people who support Hamas, transing kids, men in women's sports, and wide open border than I would like. I think we are in agreement. -

I dunno, to me, "way too many" implies a strong majority. I've adjusted my definition to "more than zero is too many for me subjectively, but I don't have a range in mind." -

Nothing I guess. With your new definition of "way too many", I stand by my previous post as well. But more to your concern, I would in general prefer that people get their moral guidance from the Bible than from Tik Tok and Tumblr. -

I think you and Tim are caught up on the semantics of the word "favorable." Perhaps I should have described it as "not polling as well as her team had hoped." To be clear, Watson (maker of the video) is not some second coming of Walter Cronkite. He's a popular YouTuber with conservatives. But the video does capture what I think are a lot of the problems with her campaign. One topic is the campaign's apparent lack of empathy with men: (real) white men, black men, young men. -

In the same post you say "way too many" and "extreme conservatives." By definition, the "extreme" of anything is at the far end of the spectrum. But apparently you've drunk the MSDNC koolaid that most anyone right of Mao is an "extreme MAGA conservative$#@!" This can be a fun game, let me try. Liberals support Hamas terrorists. There are way too many people that are actually described by that though. They are extreme Leftists. ... transing kids. ... men competing in women's sports. ... wide open borders. -

Again with the "need." Last time you said "have to," I told you to fock off, and you thought I was the problem. Watch it or don't, ignorance is bliss. -

I'm shocked that neither of you two want to learn why Kamala is so unpopular, and instead post this pablum.
