Shots fired near Trump as he leaves Florida club

So, nothing on my actual post. Thanks for the pseud discussion, it was enlightening. Goodnight.

Is it? I typed a detailed post, you responded with some pablum about an army of neckbeards (I await @The Real timschochet to brow beat you about being bigoted against the folicly-challenged intersectional disenfranchised) which was a single line and in no way addressed my points. I'd ask again for you to address my points, but it appears you've chosen to throw the gun, have a good night.
  3. Agreed. What makes more sense is a bunch of blue collar workers who polled 60%/34% Trump/Harris, polled for Harris in the states listed. And not only did so, but did so at higher than a 60/34 clip. Because the national folks didn't feel like 60/34 was enough to make a call, so that wasn't enough. Thanks for being the voice of reason.
  4. Nikki Glaser bit was... ok. A bit rough at points, but I could see the general roast approach being popular over time.

Shots fired near Trump as he leaves Florida club

This has nothing to do with my post; otherwise good job, good effort. If you would like me to dumb it down a little, let me know. If instead you would like to tie your astute conclusion to what I said, please do so.
  6. I appreciate the post and question. Short answer is that I don't know if it is a net positive or negative. Clearly there are constituents on each side -- many locals, particularly manufacturing people, and people impacted by housing price increases, might view it as a negative. Business owners and service people in certain sectors might view it as a positive. My general concern with an analysis like yours is that it is presented to look like "there are three of these, three of those, ergo it's a wash." This presumes that each factor is equally weighted, which they aren't. Also, the unknown to me which is important (and you listed) is the extent to which some locals would have taken jobs given to the Haitian migrants. What I will say I feel strongly about, and this is my opinion: adding 33% to the population of a city with migrants from the same place, in a short period of time, is a red flag. Something is wrong -- locals won't work, or locals are getting focked over, or some combo. I believe that the visibility by Trump's "eating the cats" is bringing this to the national forefront, if the Left can get over the cat part and see the real issue. For Springfield and for future places which find themselves in a similar situation.

    Mass Deportation

If you don't punish people who come here illegally, they will continue to come here illegally. This seems like basic human psychology to me, but a remarkable number of people don't seem to get this basic tenet of human behavior.

You asked me a question, I gave you a well-thought-out response. You could have saved me some time if you told me you would respond with this tripe.

Shots fired near Trump as he leaves Florida club

No it's not as bad for several reasons. One, it opens with a tacit call for a democratic solution (elect Trump). You will probably nitpick that it doesn't technically do that, but you asked for differences, and that is a non-negligible one in the tone. Two, and more importantly: very few people think Harris the person is specifically a threat. On the contrary, the Right views her as an empty vessel plugged in to carry out the progressive agenda. If she were to disappear tomorrow, the Left would be "meh, whatever" and plug in Newsome or Whitmer or Jeffries to do the same exact thing as they are doing and have been doing. Trump, on the other hand, is viewed by the Left as a singular personal threat. They believe if they can remove him, the world is a significantly safer place. This has been the nonstop rhetoric from the Left and the MSDNC for 10 years.

    Divorce question re: house

Good point, I forgot that tidbit. Rich parents, take note!

    Divorce question re: house

Then why would she get any of the house? Seems like the deadbeat guy's parents own the house. The divorcing couple aren't even renters, they're moochers. I'm thankfully oblivious to family court, but this seems like an interesting case. If he doesn't make money (if I'm reading that right), could the court compel the guy's parents to support her? Seems like they shouldn't, but I'm not a pretend lawyer.
  12. I wouldn't exactly call that "against the grain." See the above discussion -- this in no way means that the actual Teamsters in those states support Harris.
  13. More at: https://www.cnn.com/2024/09/18/politics/teamsters-will-not-endorse-us-president/index.html This reminds me of when @The Real timschochet posts support of transing the children by the APA and AMA, and concludes that the vast majority of doctors support it. Uh, no. The political, lobbying organization supports it, not necessarily the doctors. In this case, the political/lobbying arm of the Teamsters, in bed with the Democrats for decades, decided to eschew the overwhelming support of Trump by it's constituents with a "we're taking our ball and going home" stance.

    Divorce question re: house

Yeah... I thought about multiple ways to respond here, but with no abuse or cheating, it sounds like they just fell out of love... in which case, why is she being such a biotch about it? Occam's Razor says... she's probably just a biotch in real life. If so, best he cut bait sooner than later, I guess.
  15. For the third time: your own Reuters article listed ways in which the infusion of Haitian immigrants is a burden on that community. To think that a sudden infusion of 33% of your population, which largely don't speak your language or know your customs, would NOT be some burden on the community... that is not an adult thought. Also I've informed you numerous times of our actual immigration history, I'm not going to waste my time repeating it because you will ignore it again. I do not in any way support death threats, bomb threats, etc. I've heard that most of them are from overseas -- if true, I doubt that Trump and Vance calling off the dogs would do much good. But I think it would be a good look for them if they did so.

This made me cry. I didn't know the back story of these songs. Also, she's hot. Is she on OnlyFans?

Maybe something like Squid Game, but instead of shooting the losers, we put them on a plane. The winner can stay.

Seriously though, Amazon knows more about complex shipping logistics than anyone. They could probably literally help with this plan.

  20. I thought it went without saying that saying they were bad drivers was not implying that every one of them drives, or is even bad. Heck, maybe there are some savants who instantly adapted to the American way of driving. Their bad driving is a problem and burden on our society. That, along with the other items I listed, are part of the equation to determine if they are a net benefit, along with the feelings of the US citizens who've had a 33% invasion of a different culture. What ISN'T part of the equation is your childish belief that any number of immigrants from any culture is always and completely a good thing.

    Horror films superthread

Funny, I was going to respond to @DonSnudity question with: do you find James McAvoy attractive? His wife in the movie is pretty hot, too. But no gratuitous nudity. Maybe I'm being harsh on it; let us know what you think. It could be I went in with different expectations, which has happened to me before and made me not enjoy movies that other people liked.
  22. Interesting, thanks. I wonder what their overall margins are? I doubt they have the same margins on every item. Perhaps the higher prices on milk and eggs help to subsidize other items which break even or maybe lose money.
  23. That's why I always refer to it here as the "Inflation Increase Act." If any economists told Biden that dumping a bunch of money into the economy would lower inflation, their diploma isn't worth the paper it's printed on. Regarding the discussion between Sean and RLLD: both presidents did such things. The difference is that Trump did it while we were neck deep in the pandemic, so you could at least argue it was worth the tradeoff. Biden did it for no such reason -- we were long past the imminent danger of Covid.
  24. Again, the quote from your own link: I bolded for you: vehicle accidents surged. To what would you attribute this surge? I didn't say they were stupid, I said they can't read the signs. The official languages of Haiti are French and Haitian Creole, as per Google. Also, this is the driving environment they come from: Does this sound like a driver who would seamlessly adapt to American driving?
