Update$#@! Flying out Friday, spending some time in Vancouver until cruising out on Sunday. It's kinda funny that we are flying to a foreign country to cruise in our own country. Anyway, we have two excursions planned: 1. White Pass Railroad in Skagway as discussed. All 13 of us are going. 2. Wife and I signed up for a helicopter ride to Mendenhall Glacier (Juneau) where we land, then learn about and ride dogsleds. My wife's grandfather went to Antarctica with Admiral Byrd and ran the dogsleds (there is a much longer, more interesting story about this which I'll omit for now). So this just seemed like an awesome, bucket-list kind of event (not cheap), but with family significance. We can hike other places. First stop, Icy Strait, we're in charge of watching my MIL, so might not make it off the ship. It doesn't seem like there is a lot there, although my wife's side of the family is doing a whale-watching excursion. Hopefully we'll get off the ship and hike around a little. Ketchikan looks like some good hikes, we might do some there. We haven't negotiated who is watching my MIL that day, tho. Thanks again for the info, I'm getting excited!

Oh, I wrestled growing up. Not competitively, but I found out in college that my informal training made me better than a lot of guys who competed in neighboring states. I just never heard that word.

I'd never heard the word "folkstyle" until this post. That being said, I recognized that there were differences between HS/college wrestling and Olympic freestyle. I never wrestled competitively but I grew up in rural PA so I did a lot of wrestling in PE, then got into ground fighting later in life. Anyway... not being in that sphere, my gut reaction is yeah, they should move towards the Olympic freestyle rules.

I'm not an Olympic wrestling expert, but I had seen that earlier in the competition (maybe by Dake?) and thought it was interesting, as you did. I've said these before but: - I love the obscure sports. I watched a little of most things; a lot of taekwondo, which I used to compete in. But I love stuff like the canoe/kayak slaloms. - Peacock knocked it out of the park IMO. Gold Zone, Multi View, stream anything any time, watch replays, Prime Time summaries. 10/10.
