He's getting mad, the cocktail is wearing off. Time for the hook to end it. -

It's fairly clear to me that his instant response to each question indicates that he has a prepared response to known questions. Now we're ending on an "are you determined on running" question, so he can emphasize that he isn't backing out. This is my opinion, @The Real timschochet. -

I disagree. In a real-time chat during such an event, the presumption is that a statement is opinion. If I were asserting it as fact, I would have provided evidence. I believe I've proven to be good at doing so. -

My statement was an opinion. Asking Biden what he would advise European countries to do when Hitler Trump pulls out of NATO? Seems like a plant to me. You disagree of course. -

This is an election stump meeting. Is the cost coming out of his campaign? -

I thought the prepared speech went well. That guy could maybe run the country. The VP Trump thing is an OK gaffe, if not in the context of him just entering the unscripted part. Having a list of culled interview questions doesn't seem "big boy." -
The New York Times editorial board says Donald Trump is unfit to lead.

Trump isn't very religious, but if he is a member of a church, it is Presbyterian. https://www.cnn.com/interactive/2017/politics/state/donald-trump-religion/ Also, the above is called a "link." Please consider using them to support your baseless pablum in the future. TIA -
Killing a rival candidate? President may now be immune for that and more

Headline has been changed. I imagine they got a lot of comments telling them how stupid the original one was. -
I think of her more in terms of fruit. Melons... peach...

This Bible reference sucks; which chapter? Be better if you are going to pretend to be God and be judgmental.

This has the potential to be our new "check ID" thread. Fight the man, errr... dog, err....poop, Rusty#$#@!

I totally agree. It would be weird IMO to meet a girl totally nekkid. Even today, with my wife of 30+ years, I prefer to slowly peel her out of her clothes vs. just jump into bed with no clothes on.

There was a dood at about the 52 second mark who is older than either of us.

I'm certainly not indicting all parents; I was specifically talking about these parents. Our kids went to a private school for many years, so I have some insight into how the minds of affluent parents work. At the risk of sounding sexist, by and large the dads (presuming they were something of a self-made success) would have agreed with me to whip the tar out of their kids if this happened. The moms are the unknown variable -- some would agree, others would have the "not my baby!" attitude. None of them would agree to any punishment that was on a lasting record, though.

***2024 EdEx Finale - The Open Championship***

Yes on both counts. Going with my son (he's 28). We have tickets for W practice round, and Th/F rounds. We just got a free upgrade to a club kinda thing for Wednesday -- covered, bar and food, TVs, restrooms, on the 18th hole. If we like it (and/or the weather looks bad for Th/F), I'll look into paying to upgrade those last two days, presuming I can. It's only money, why not enjoy it? Arriving in Edinburgh Saturday night, staying there until Tuesday morning. Got my Rick Steves guide and audio tours. Then renting a car and heading to the west coast for a tour of the Oban distillery, and check out the town/views of the Hebrides. Then drive down to Troon. May take a few jaunts into Glasgow for dinner during this part, which is pretty close. Drive back to Edinburgh Saturday -- not sure what we are doing that day, other than a pub to catch some of the tourney. I actually was just looking into going to Stirling castle and another distillery or two on the way back. Sunday we have tickets to the Edinburgh castle. Monday I fly back -- he is staying another week; his GF is flying out to meet him. I'm not sure exactly his plans, but they include staying in a castle somewhere. I wish I was staying another week, doing a 3-4 day golf package, and spending a few days in the highlands. Maybe next year. I'll try to remember to look for a poker chip marker. In fact, maybe I'll look for something small, like that, to send to whoever wins the EdEx next week. I certainly will be swag shopping. -
Trump talk only- no Eagles talk allowed (Steelers talk is OK though)

I've pointed out to Tim that "Scientific" American stopped being scientific a long time ago. It should change its name to Woke Progressive. Here is a link to a substack article written by a former writer for the magazine, describing this. https://michaelshermer.substack.com/p/scientific-american-goes-woke -
