Trump talk only- no Eagles talk allowed (Steelers talk is OK though)
jerryskids replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
Yeah, that's pretty much how they characterize Trump. -
Yeah, he's 3rd overall in LIV and came in 12th at the PGA. I'll take a hot hand in the last round.

I was toying with DJ for this pick, if AD didn't take him. Need a LIV guy: Dean Burgermester Mesterburger @edjr

*** Official Hunter Biden Trial Thread ***
jerryskids replied to Mike Honcho's topic in The Geek Club
Team Biden is probably popping champagne corks over this. Getting Hunter out of the news for a while is a boon for them. And the guilty verdict hanging in the air gives an appearance of propriety for the DoJ. -
Hunter Biden convicted on three federal gun charges

Agreed. Let's move this discussion to the real thread instead of @cmh6476's "look at meeeee" thread. -
Fair enough. In 1967 during/after the war, Jordan took in 300K Palestinians. Also I think in general you are somewhat conflating where Palestinians have always lived vs. countries accepting new ones. Anyway, Egypt wants nothing to do with them. https://apnews.com/article/palestinian-jordan-egypt-israel-refugee-502c06d004767d4b64848d878b66bd3d Lebanon does not treat Palestinians well: https://www.hrw.org/legacy/campaigns/israel/return/arab-rtr.htm I'm not finding much on refugee acceptance since the Hamas era. Egypt apparently took in 81 severely injured Palestinians the past November.

I'm not sure how they get paid in different states if they also share in the tip pool. I would be surprised if they get "regular" minimum wage plus part of the tips. I do know that both my daughters started as hostesses in HS to make extra money and moved to waitressing when given the opportunity because it paid more. They were Denny's and similar, not high-end restaurants.

I believe that most servers make the "server minimum wage" as a base salary. So I don't think the employers could easily do that.
-
Sorry the truth conflicts with your worldview. Let's start simple. Have surrounding Arab countries ever welcomed in the Palestinians, yes or no?
-
Thanks for the heads up. I'm fairly confident a few guys there would like to do some thrusters with her.

I agree with this. Where I disagree is when it turns into a false equivalence of "both guys are losing it." Well yeah, but in much different degrees. Seriously, imagine Biden at a speech where his teleprompter glitches. Anyway...

Fock Paige: She's OG, beautiful, probably the best golf swing Marry Grace: She has a certain hometown girl vibe that the others don't. I think she'd be happy playing a round with me, then coming home, fixing dinner, and giving me a beejer. Kill Bri: She's certainly attractive, but the stripper-like poses are, as my GenZ kids would say, "extra." And her swing is the worst.

This is in @thegeneral's state -- I'm sure he'll come along shortly to explain his Venn diagram of why skidmarks in the street is much more egregious than spray painting a statue and assaulting park rangers.

Thanks. So yeah, like I predicted, the context of the culled X video was him discussing EV boats. Do we doubt he had that conversation with the boat maker in SC? If not, then he was relaying a discussion he had about why it's bad to mandate electric vehicles when they aren't appropriate for the situation. The shark thing is apparently in the news (I learned from Bunny's thread) so in typical Trump fashion, that came to his mind during his discussion with the boat guy. Then after the boats he talked about the downside of EV long haul trucks. So a consistent theme. The MIT thing, yeah, his narcissism has always led him to a false association there. And parts of the shark bit are clearly rambling. But in general, nowhere near Biden pooping his pants, staring into space, then mumbling "anyway..."
-
Your wish is to be attacked by a shark? My wish is a threesome with my wife and her cute workout partner at the gym. Probably won't come true tho.
-
Sure there was. In the beginning he says he's talking to someone from MIT, then says "so what would happen if the boat sank..." so he was talking to someone about a boat. Maybe battery powered? An EV boat? And they were discussing risks of an EV boat?

This is what I was trying to say with my last sentence. I could see this tax cut being of more benefit to servers who work in CC-driven businesses. Hopefully, people who intentionally give cash tips do so because they know the recipients aren't reporting them, so won't change their behavior much. But it will reduce it some.
-
You wouldn't understand... This is the first I'm reading it. Mostly I've been drafting golfers and talking about tax cuts on the bored today. So, Trump was riffing some stuff because the teleprompters weren't working. What was the context? Seems like that clip caught him in the middle of answering. Also I'd love to see Biden if the teleprompters went out.

One of the reasons this is growing on me: I'm having a hard time figuring out the unintended consequences, which is usually the problem with tax proposals. In this case, the beneficiaries are primarily lower-income people, so that's good. The employees already generally make server minimum wage, so employers won't cut salaries. In fact I can't think why employers would care at all; if anything it would probably simplify their accounting processes. Perhaps one thing is that customers over time will tip less. Depending on how much (little) of tips are currently reported, it might result in a net negative income to the employees.
-
Funny, when I posted this I wasn't sure how I felt about the proposal (FWIW it's grow on me). I was mostly interested in how the Lefties, and centrists like yourself, would find a way to disparage it.

Not income taxes you mean.

EU Parlimentary Elections and a Surprise out Macron's France
jerryskids replied to Voltaire's topic in The Geek Club
You people on the Left just don't understand this global populist movement, do you. Regular folk want their government to protect them. They don't want it to encourage a bunch of (in the case of Europe) radical Muslim migrants to take over regions of their country, rape their women, kill their citizens, and slowly destroy their culture. They don't want discussions with globalist health organizations to sacrifice vaccines during the next pandemic to some shiothole third world country because equity. Regular folk also want the opportunity to do meaningful work. They don't want to hear that the hiring companies are evil and then be given free stuff the government got by taxing other, more successful people. They want to become those people. Read Man's Search for Meaning by Victor Frankl, one of the greatest books ever written IMO. There may be more...
