You seriously can't read something you wrote yourself and see the problem with it? VP of what again?

Looks like you are struggling with a simple question. Here, I'll repeat it for you. As you pointed out: I said "19th century French Literature degree." That is shorthand for "some degree that doesn't afford the person the ability to get a job to pay off the loan." You said I was arguing the extremes. I responded that it was not the extremes, that people with less useful degrees are the majority of people who can't pay of their loans. You typed... this, and think it's a big win for some reason. So, if I am arguing the extremes, please educate me on your opinion of the typical persona of a person who can't pay off their loans. Heart surgeon? CFO? Patent Lawyer?

I'm not exactly sure what this word salad is saying, but taking a stab at it: feel free to ask him for a link if you want one. I was interested so I looked it up myself. It looks like there is data on both sides. HTH

Extremes? Is your assertion that a person with a STEM degree is typical for people who can't pay off student loans?

I'm well aware that people with college degrees make more money. But those aren't the ones who need loan relief. I doubt that many engineering/STEM grads need their loans paid off. Because those are useful skills. Finance degree, maybe, because that just involves making a debit and credit column add up the same. Cog work.
  9. It's hilarious that, on the heels of a 7 page thread with mostly good, nuanced discussion, you read the OP and give a 3rd grade summary, then accuse me of missing the big picture. Class is in session, and you missed it. If you want to go back and read the thread (which I'm confident you haven't), or re-read the OP, and you want to ask something new and interesting that hasn't been discussed, feel free. But sorry, I have no response to "an issue with transgenderism poses a threat to our survival". Read the thread. Or don't, as I don't think you'll learn anything anyway.

Trump talk only- no Eagles talk allowed (Steelers talk is OK though)

Nothing wrong with prepared statements, but they aren't debates. You could just read a website for policy positions.
  11. I'm thinking that Gutter is just trolling. He has a history of this, and I can't believe he has become so stupid as to align with a simp pseud like BeachGuy. He's probably laughing at him more than any of us.
  12. I don't think you are following the discussion. I suggest you go back and reread the thread that led to this.

True, we need more kids to go to private school and major in 19th century French Literature, then ask for relief for their $250K college bills. Also, I made a lot of money in my engineering sales career. Two words (engineering, sales) that you could never do, because you don't understand technology, or people. Or the English language. Yet you skyrocketed up a billion dollar company.

Dang, my team sucks. As I predicted.
  15. Thanks for confirming I never said it was absolute fact. And when challenged by you, I provided a link with political experts who agreed. Still doesn't make it a fact of course, but that's how discussion on a message board goes. At least, how it goes with people with triple digit IQs. How is that search for me saying "data points" going, finance guy?
  16. I supported it. I provided a link with statements from political experts who agreed. I never said it was an absolute fact; that was something you made up in BeachGuy World. Also I never said "data points", I said "data": https://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/search/?&q="data points"&author=jerryskids&search_and_or=or Just like I never said "facts," your original assertion. A link is data to support my assertion. It doesn't mean that it is an indisputable fact that Biden was influenced by college protests, because we would need to be inside his vacuous brain to truly know. Seriously, you are so sloppy with language, you want us to believe that you skyrocketed through the ranks of a billion dollar company in a field which requires precision?
  17. Well... that's an opinion. Not sure why that would impact him testifying. Cohen is a convicted perjurer, not an opinion.
  18. I just wanted to point out that back in 2021 MDC and I recognized that Biden was in mental decline.
  19. A red herring attempts to deflect the discussion from the original topic. I created the thread and original topic. I hope logical fallacies are not part of your curriculum. I presume the facts/data comment is some, also misinformed, interpretation of my exchange with BeachGuy, the bean counter who is allergic to data? You might want to read some more before you align with him. Or not, you two would probably get along quite well. I wrote the post because I made an assertion in another thread that I thought cultural issues were an existential threat, and I was asked (challenged) to provide examples. I have more examples coming in the future. Feel free to sit them out; adults who understand nuance and can discuss complex issues are welcome though. If you want to address my assertion about moral relativism, feel free to do so, and I will discuss with you as I have with other left-leaning people in this thread. If not, I'm done responding to you.

What do you pay for a haircut?

Every two weeks? I presume you keep it short and clean, something of a military cut? Or maybe your barber is a hot chick who blows you.
  21. Well, not really. Interesting read from the Free Press which those of us who aren't in the "convict OMB at any cost" camp have been trying to say: https://www.thefp.com/p/the-trial-against-trump-will-throw?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email To summarize: - No charges have been filed against Trump to substantiate the calling of business record falsification a felony. - A much more credible witness testified to Congress that the payments were Cohen's idea. I presume he will testify in the trial. - The judge doesn't care; he knows it won't hold up in appeal because of the first point, but it is all about interfering with the election. Which is sad in a case where the prosecution is flimsily accusing Trump of election interference.
  22. Yeah, that's my post. I hope you don't use this same level of comprehensive dissection with your students. If you had read the thread, you would see: - I only mentioned BLM as an example of extending marxism into other areas, and never went back to it. - I specifically stated transgenders in the context of safe spaces and sports. I supported a fully transitioned male, who had his parts removed, being in a woman's bathroom. - I opened up the discussion of what is moral absolutism, and who decides? Congrats, you have entered Worms territory of lack of nuance. Maybe leapt past him. I don't know who pissed in your cheerios, but next time you take a bunch of time off and decide to leap into a discussion making no attempt to understand it, spare yourself the embarrassment and just sit it out.
