Taco says Biden is dead, clone was president
jerryskids replied to Ron_Artest's topic in The Geek Club
I could see that. Although daring Trump to do something that you deem is not in the best interest of the country seems... interesting. Also, I used Behind the Overlay on your link. -
If I don't get the results I want from a Google search, I'll add "reddit" to the end of the search phrase to hone in on those. This is usually for how-to stuff, product reviews, etc. Never political crap.

NP on the payment method or timing, whenever you get to it is fine. And whatever you prefer for payouts/ins next year to make it convenient is fine. Also, please don't edjr on us next season. Your current season seems like one long string of bad beats. None of us is a super genius on this stuff, but somebody has to lose, and this has been your year.

Taco says Biden is dead, clone was president
jerryskids replied to Ron_Artest's topic in The Geek Club
Hmm... it is unusually creative for the sky-screaming woke Lefties, given the "Taco" thing. For now I'll let it pass. I'm not sure what to make of "Taco" in general though. It does allude to specific behaviors of Trump, but in calling him that, is the Left saying he shouldn't have chickened out on the tariffs? I thought you guys opposed those and would be happy that he backed off. -

Long ago, on a discussion of abortion, I introduced the concepts of "infinity-minus" and "zero-plus," which actually came from my engineering world. Abortion advocates are infinity-minus -- their default is that abortion is legal, but we can carve out situations where it is illegal. I fall into the zero-plus camp, which is the opposite, because I oppose abortion for convenience. Theoretically you could arrive at the same point with each approach, but it is unlikely, and each is a different mindset. The point being that while I oppose abortion, I recognize that there are cases worth discussing its legality. This approach shows empathy and a willingness to negotiate solutions in good faith. I've had a lot of successful business negotiations with this approach. Back to trans, I tend to fall into the zero-plus camp as well regarding the privileges of their chosen gender, to use your phrase (which I like). Obviously, trans advocates like Squissy here are infinity-minus. But I do it from a backdrop of recognizing the reality that some small number of people truly have gender dysphoria. From this backdrop, we can have productive discussions with the infinity-minus folks regarding questions like: what do we do with such people? What is truly in their best interest? How do we merge that into a functioning and safe society? What about children? I find this approach much more productive and easier to defend than a staunch "zero" stance. -

So your big win is that Trump said some less than glowing words about a clone with cancer? -
So, what do we do if we finish in a tie for the season?

Well, I explained how I know. Please explain how you know you are right. -

Trump thinks Biden is a clone! Trump wished Biden well in his cancer recovery! Gutter came up with this jeenius stuff all by himself! -

You say these words with confidence, but you know nothing. I've known gutterboy for decades and I know where he lives. In fact he sent me his exact address as part of my moderating a bet he had with somebody, HT I think. I haven't known @thegeneral as long, but he met one of my best friends from this site for beers. Gutter and general live on opposite ends of the country. This post is more for others than you, because you seem incapable of learning on such topics, and will probably do some copy and paste, thinking you look smart or something. -

No, he's not. You seem to randomly assign such connections, I have no idea why, but you are wrong. -
Also @WhiteWonder, I sent you a PP request for the $90. I think that was your preferred method, and that I'm otherwise paid up for the year. If either of these assumptions are wrong, let me know. I can do Venmo, but I prefer PP.

It's crazy how close slots 2-7 were, all within two shots! I agree with @BiffTannen on keeping this tourney next year. Tough layouts like this make for a lot of movement over the tourney.

Girls' track and field athletes don't stand on podium next to trans athlete at Oregon state championship
jerryskids replied to jbycho's topic in The Geek Club
Squissy moreso than Tim. But it's weird, I've seen this argument here before that virtually nobody supports it, yet somehow majorities of city councils and state legislatures in several D states support it. It's a conundrum wrapped in an enigma. -

When you say "abandon the trans movement," do you mean men in women's sports, or trans folks altogether? I ask because progressives often push the false dichotomy of all or nothing. Sometimes successfully: you may recall the debate about gay marriage. Many conservatives were fine with it, but preferred to call it "civil union." Progressives insisted on calling it "marriage", and they ultimately won. To them, it isn't a victory unless it is 100%. Problem is, I don't see how they will ever get public mindshare of a lot of these trans topics: medically transing confused kids, men in women's sports, convicted male rapists in female prisons (yes, this is a real thing)... I mean sure, we may get a progressive SCOTUS majority some day which prioritizes woke ideology over biological reality and people's safety, but I can't see how the public at large will ever buy into it. Basically, I propose that we break the false dichotomy. I believe that we can support adults who want to present as the other sex in general, without allowing them into women's spaces. There are plenty of devils in the details, but I don't want to sidetrack this thread too much. -
I gotta pick Hurricane Jerry.

I disagree. There is no new event or data in the OP: it's just a guy complaining about pride month (I only watched about a minute). Which is fine to post, but IMO it doesn't need its own thread when there is a thread about pride month right there. Basically, I can't complain about MDC posting "another tranny thread!" in cases like this, where MO does indeed start such threads. -

jerryskids replied to Maximum Overkill's topic in The Geek Club
Actually, I agree that this would have fit nicely into the Pride Month thread. Hey @Maximum Overkill, you really don't have to start a new thread for every trans video you come across. Especially with a Pride Month thread sitting right there at the top of the first page. -
I almost started this thread last night. Phoenix is currently experiencing the remnants of Tropical Storm Alvin. That's right east coast biotches, the west coast gets hurricanes too$#@! Anyway, hurricanes are awesome for us, because these remnants have cooled things off by 15 degrees, not to mention much-needed rain. The rain seems done and I'm going golfing in 30 minutes to take advantage of it.

Wut? There is not a single correct word in this post. And you posted a picture of a unicorn with a rainbow horn and big eyelashes which I can only presume you find sexually arousing. -

I'm amazed at how you Lefties are unable to differentiate between insults and dehumanizing labels. Calling someone a tard or an idiot is an insult, generally (as in this case) based on a specific action and situation. Labeling Trump Clownzo or now Taco, or labeling all Trump supporters MAGAtards, is an attempt to dehumanize. It's a subtle difference in language which I wouldn't expect you to understand. HTH. Also as I look, there is one other "trans" thread on the first page, and that is talking about Pride Month. That's a little different topic than this one, and hardly an example of "trans threads daily." -

You don't seem to realize that every time you post that, you reinforce the fact that these things are happening more and more often. So the argument that it is only 0.00001% of sports and other women's safe spaces is increasingly tardish. I wouldn't expect you to get it. -
Good win Lager.
