    Bump to get Spoonman's response.

You've been calling me a cog and you don't even know what I primarily did? Nice attention to detail, ERP guy. I didn't sell plastic spoons, boyo. I sold SW and HW which cost an obscene amount of money each. It required a unique combination of (very specific) technical knowledge, the ability to communicate that info to engineers and engineering management/leadership, the ability to prospect and find new opportunities, and the ability to manage this all through fortune 500 accounts. Alot more than "talking." Although based on your posts, I could see why you would value people with basic grammar skills. I would concede that maybe the CFO at times made more than me, but not always, and nobody else in finance did. Sorry but it just wasn't valued in high tech. I think I'll call you "Spoonman" from now on. It's a term of endearment as I really like that song. Much like "boyo".

Yes. Also, based on his poor command of the English language, he apparently works for a company that refuses to put an "s" at the end of plural words. Example: BeachGuy: "Hey CEO, we should lay off 5 marketer and 3 spoon maker. No reason, I just had a good lift today and I'm flexing my greased, pumped muscle!"

What I did was highly specialized, and indeed only a handful of people in the world could sell what I primarily sold. Also I was a revenue generator, not a cost reducer like you. I assure you that no spreadsheet jockey up to and including the CFO would ever presume to name me specifically to be laid off. Best case, they could provide input regarding the profitability of certain product lines, which would be taken as input along with strategic importance, expected growth (that is, things that take technical knowledge beyond writing Excel macros). Keep those plastic spoons moving down the line, boyo!

Thanks, I'll mess around with some of that. The ball is more or less off of my left heel, although I have moved it ever so slightly forward or back depending if I want more of a fade or draw respectively. Mostly I've been working on having quiet wrists that don't twist too much through the ball and cause Mr. Snappy (my biggest problem when I try to overhit it).

Any speed I generate is due to a pretty good understanding of physiology and how to maximize what I can out of my stiff body. I also did taekwondo when I was young, mostly because my family did it (it is about the worst martial art for an inflexible person, maybe ax capoeira (brazilian art) is worse. My main golfing partner never works out and has the worst diet I've ever seen in an adult (pure refined sugar), but he's got that core flexibility plus a few inches taller. The ball just jumps off his club.

Back to your jelly long hitter: In HS in the early 80s I used a wooden 3 wood (yes I'm old) off the tee. My senior year I was the #2 player, and our #1 (with whom I played every match against the other teams 1 and 2) hit the ball a mile. I learned early that I wasn't going to match his distance, so I just hit my feeble tee shot, then got the ball near the green, then scrambled for par or bogey. My chipping was phenomenal as a result. Drives me nuts now, because chipping is the worst part of my game (I don't play much, which is why). But in my head, I feel like I'm good at it.
  10. I'm not sure if I care about the name as much as the underlying reason, which is the admission of girls into the Scouts. Boys need developmental time playing with boys. The dynamics with girls is just different, even pre-puberty. I just listened to a very interesting podcast from Hidden Brain which talked about how parents and our society are stifling the development of children by helicopter parenting, constant correction, etc. Boys need some Lord of the Flies time to figure out how to resolve differences and generally get along. If interested: https://hiddenbrain.org/podcast/parents-keep-out/

I never hit it quite that far, but I miss the days when I was young and the designated bomber of the scramble. These days my drives are more like 230, maybe topping out at 250 if I hit some dry ground and get a good roll. My problem, even when young, is my body is remarkably inflexible. I just can't generate the core rotation/speed that a long hitter can.

I think the meaning to the chanter of "from the river to the sea" fits in with my description of the different personas at the protests.

Fair enough. I don't disagree with your philosophy here, although in 77 years that small minority of Palestinians hasn't accomplished bupkis, and I doubt they will now.

I've said before, but in my industry (high tech), finance is a cog, like HR or facilities. I worked for a company that tried putting a bean counter in charge once; it was an abject failure, in addition to our competitors laughing at our stupidity. In our industry, to run a company, you need to be a tech visionary. Now, if your company makes, say, plastic spoons, then yeah, I could see a finance person running the show. After all, the goal there is to find a child slave sweatshop that is fractions of a percent cheaper than the current child slave sweatshop. So if that's your gig, I could see why you think Finance is important.

Except for results: you won the last tourney, I came in dead last. But yeah, I'm high on Jaeger for the reasons you listed, plus he is a long driver. Usually I have a few guys in mind when my pick approaches, incase some of them get picked. But waiting for Dain, I wanted Jaeger and couldn't even focus on anyone else.
  16. Non-responsive drivel. Otherwise, good post, good effort.

We fundamentally disagree as to whether or not calls for violent antifada to destroy Israel, or death to zionists, or signs pointing out Hamas' next target, are antisemitic, or slurs, or could be considered threats. For the second time today, I let myself get sucked into a semantic mud wrassling contest. Shame on me. For the record, and I've said this before in discussion with @Mark Davis: I think the majority of college kids are uninformed idiots enjoying the marxist issue du jour (the issue is not the issue, the issue is the revolution) because they are losers and like to associate with some group that they feel helps other losers. But, some aren't as innocent, the large number of non-students at these events are not innocent, and as per my link describing the invasion of the Columbia hall, they are clearly more organized than a group of college losers.
  18. Eesh. And on this, let's call it "creative", interpretation of election interference, you are good with arresting the former POTUS and current candidate for one of the two major parties?
  19. Biden can't find his way off a stage. But to your greater point, charging Trump is a mark of virtue signaling in the Leftist world. Charging Haley with something as frivolous as this would not be nearly so accepted in general.
  20. Wut? Like, prosecute Haley for being of Indian descent? NM, I get you. Yes, it's both. It's political because, well, obviously. But it's personal because Trump is the mean orange man who must be stopped before he destroys the country nay the world.

In the middle of the video you watched where they show hundreds of protesters walking and chanting. Desperately? "Thousands" means "lots." And I didn't say anti semitic protesters, I said protesters saying anti semitic things and behaving in a threatening manner towards Jews. Besides, why are you jumping in on this. I'm discussing it with MDC. Don't you have an SAP report to generate or some other super contribution to your company?
  22. Let me see if I understand your point (and that of the prosecution). Trump allegedly falsified business records, itself a misdemeanor unless performed for the purpose of committing another crime, which makes it a felony. This is important because it gets past the statute of limitations. The "other crime" is election interference, and this is because he paid her off close to the election, thus interfering with the election. Do I have this right?
  23. I was going to respond to you that those two aren't necessarily mutually exclusively (and technically, they aren't), but I agree with you that the delay was most likely to see if Trump was the presumptive nominee before going through with this farce.

You speak Arabic? What were the chants from the hundreds of protesters in UCLA saying? Probably "we love Jews," amirite?
  25. Well, we can agree on the bolded. It was stalled so that it could happen during the election year.
