AZ Brings Back 160 Year Old Abortion Ban

https://www.theepochtimes.com/us/arizona-house-votes-to-repeal-1864-abortion-ban-sending-bill-to-state-senate-5636662?utm_source=RTNews&src_src=RTNews&utm_campaign=rtbreaking-2024-04-24-5&src_cmp=rtbreaking-2024-04-24-5&utm_medium=email&est=AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa%2Bc5ZwpCztPd4LIuuWhYArg0yEwD%2BTwvt3acngPVaRuLrk%2FaLA%3D%3D Thank goodness. Hopefully the Senate can get it passed and we can put in a reasonable law.

Arizona indicts "fake elector" Clownzo boyos

If they end up indicting Trump here, that would be a big mistake for Team Blue, as it would likely launch him into winning the state. Should be interesting to watch, though.
  4. Well, not exactly. I did some googling. You can find websites like GLAAD that link to all of the 3- and 4-letter lobbying/administrative medical groups like the AMA who strongly oppose state laws preventing evidence-based gender care (understandable, since they share your view that a one-size-fits-all law is bad and prevents them from practicing medicine). These groups are basically like union heads protecting the rights of their constituents. The AMA (run by an openly LGBTQ man btw) further points to a clinical guide by the Endocrine Society (Endocrine = hormones) "supporting" such care. But from the guide: https://www.endocrine.org/clinical-practice-guidelines/gender-dysphoria-gender-incongruence What you don't understand Tim, and I've said this before: the more advanced the degree, the more the person presumes (1) that everyone in their field is diligent and responsible, and (2) that they absolutely completely defer to people in adjacent field. So in this case, the Endocrine Society, along with saying a big NO to hormone treatment for pre-pubescence, is presuming an expert multi-disciplinary team has thoroughly vetted the patient, and continues to manage it through the experience. Endocrinology's job is to safely and effectively administer the hormones, not to worry about the other stuff. So IMO this is not far off from where we started. I'm open to continuing how things were before the social contagion and woke acceptance of self-diagnosis took over. If they do the things laid out above, I do not object to it. But they aren't, and that's the problem.
  5. Thanks. I've seen summaries, but I don't think I've read the full report.
  6. Sorry, I can't do that until the American trans health community learns from Europe that they went too far, that medical interventions for children should be extremely rare and only in the most severe and thoroughly analyzed cases.
  7. But we don't know upon first meeting. I feel like I'm in an Abbott and Costello skit. And for the record, for the two people who identified as trans that I knew in my daughter's HS, I used their preferred names and pronouns du jour. (I say du jour because at least one later changed back to a boy. He came from a crap home life. Reference our earlier scientific discussion about experience/environment influencing gender). My concern, like Jordan Peterson's in Canada when he first rose to fame, is that this devolves into "hate speech" legislation, when we've just established that there is no way to pre-identify what a person wishes to be called.
  8. This has nothing to do with my post. Otherwise, good job, good effort.
  9. Airlines will raise prices to account for the added costs. Unintended consequences, a liberal's worst nightmare...
  10. Isn't it presumptuous to call a man dressed as a woman, a woman? Drag queens, for instance, typically identify as gay cisgender men. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/all-things-lgbtq/201801/the-psychology-drag https://www.huffpost.com/entry/rupaul-explains-the-difference-between-drag-and-being-transgender_n_56d73496e4b03260bf78f317 How are we supposed to differentiate the two, and more importantly, why should we be expected to? @The Real timschochet, @squistion, you are our resident experts. Please help us out. TIA
  11. Awesome! And she has a nice outback.
  12. @squistiontells us that not every trans person has gender dysphoria. I personally think that makes them fake trans, but that's just my intelligent opinion.

    Today is Administrative Professionals' Day

According to Google it's also International Guide Dog Day. For some clueless execs, they probably serve the same purpose.

We're having a good discussion about things to do there, tard. Go post videos of Biden sniffing hair somewhere.

Thanks, I was thinking similar. Maybe a drink, maybe just walking around/shopping, depending on where we are, then an early dinner.

I wouldn't pay playoff prices to watch a Coyotes game, so... no, but thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for the recs. Wife and daughter definitely want the Met, as do I. I proposed MOMA and got shot down. Besides, the Met and Natural History are more than enough traditional museums for such a trip. I'm hoping we can mix those two with some nice weather so we can walk there through Central Park. We did the bike around the park last time, which was fun. Washington Square Park is by NYU, no bueno, see my OP. Our Tommy show is at 2PM, prolly too early for dinner right after. We are generally early eaters, but with the time change we probably will stick on somewhat of our original time zones, since NY is a later kinda place.

No. We plan on renting a car just for two days to take out of the city. Which reminds me, I should look into that.

Bill Maher on Hollywood pedos and Drag Queen story hour

Wow, this is incredibly uninformed. Communism is deeply tied to the anti-fascist movement. Simple Google search: https://www.google.com/search?q=is+antifa+marxist&oq=is+antifa+marxist&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOTIHCAEQIRiPAtIBCDM4MTdqMGo0qAIAsAIA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#ip=1 From the Time interview in the link: Or pick just about any article from that search.

You know nothing about Marxism. Let's start with its opposition to the nuclear family, which you objected to in Fireballer's post: https://www.studysmarter.co.uk/explanations/social-studies/families-and-households/marxist-perspectives/#:~:text=Marxists see the role and, could pass down private property. This is seen by the progressive push in the past 60 years to laud single parents, divorce for the slightest unhappiness, polygamy, alternate sexuality. HTH, but I somehow doubt it.

Sounds mostly peaceful. We should leave them all there, like the Summer of Love. That's what a thoughtful poster like Tim would recommend.
