    The Revenge of the Normies

    Wut?
  2. To summarize: you believe that nobody will watch the unedited video, and instead that conservatives with bad intent will edit it to make coherent Joe Biden look incoherent. Then a bunch of Magamooks will eat up the fake, misleading edits to incorrectly conclude that Biden is in severe cognitive decline. In other words, basically what I said that you replied to above. Like I said earlier, I have no doubts that people on the right will edit the juiciest (or unjuiciest, brain-dead?) parts to emphasize this fact. But it doesn't change the reality. Camp Biden can certainly respond with a counter, context, etc. And it is still not a reason to abuse Executive Privilege.

    Trump to ban contraception?

The only thing I can think of is giving states the right to ban the sale of that Opill OTC contraceptive to minors. I believe that some states have laws in place requiring parental consent for prescription ones. I don't know if such laws would apply to an OTC drug tho. Not saying I agree if that's the case, as kids can buy condoms everywhere (I think). I'm just guessing here, as I can't imagine he'll just make them illegal across the board, that's dumb.

  5. Fine, I don't want you to report me. I'll delete it.
  6. Calm down, Squissy. Nobody thinks you would actually say something so coherent. It's just a thing we occasionally do here to prove a point.
  7. I agree. It's probably motivated by Stefanik's political ambitions as much as anything. Unlike Bragg who objectively... bwahahah, I can't type it with a straight face!
  8. https://x.com/EliseStefanik/status/1793311001934279016 Elise Stefanik: Yesterday, I filed an official judicial complaint with the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct against Acting Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan. His family is directly enriching itself off this sham trial against President Trump in blatant violation of the Rules of Judicial Conduct for the New York State Unified Court System, and he must be held accountable.

Trump talk only- no Eagles talk allowed (Steelers talk is OK though)

    FWIW, I just looked it up and Bernie Sanders was the overwhelming winner of the democratic caucuses in Nevada in 2020. So maybe support for Biden has never been terribly strong there? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_United_States_presidential_election_in_Nevada Pledged national convention delegates[c] Votes % Votes % Number % Bernie Sanders 35,652 33.99 41,075 40.45 6,788 46.84 24 Joe Biden 18,424 17.57 19,179 18.89 2,927 20.20 9 Pete Buttigieg 16,102 15.35 17,598 17.33 2,073 14.31 3 Elizabeth Warren 13,438 12.81 11,703 11.53 1,406 9.70

I agree with you that he is advocating for women to stay at home and raise their kids. Where I think we differ is I don't think he is suggesting that women walk out of the auditorium and marry the first guy they run into. There will be some amount of time between now and having babies. I also disagree with the word "shaming." It is all positive words about motherhood and his wife. He never says anything to shame them IMO. On a slightly different topic, here was another dumb thing to say at a commencement: No, the majority are not excited about that at this phase of their lives. I don't think that is "shaming" though.

Adding to what I said to Gutter: the "diabolical lie" is that a woman will be happy if she stays working even though their family doesn't need it. We can debate this, but I don't think he was telling them they should never have gone to college. If that is your interpretation, then yeah, that would be extra bad at a commencement.

I wouldn't have used that phrasing. Also, I've stated that the message should have been about having the flexibility to do what the family needs, with priority toward the children. Also also, I've stated earlier in this thread how my wife got pressure, as a female engineer, to stay with her career.

How so? The part up to her going back to work seems consistent with his thinking, and he lacks the life experience to anticipate what I laid out. I would be surprised if he had an issue with it, though.

If you continue to assert what my opinion is, I think we've moved past sarcasm to an actual attack, no? I've repeatedly said that it was not the time or place for Butker to make those comments. I also proposed a better way for him to get across what I believe to be his point. I gave a personal life example as well. No, I'm not equating them, inasmuch as being a pedo is worse than thinking women don't know better. So I guess the sarcasm line is somewhere between those two?

That's exactly what I said in the post you quoted. Some people argue that a lack of caring is worse than a strong emotion like hate. Regardless, it's a terrible message to tell a group of graduates. The message should be "while there are still some obstacles out there, you guys are prepared to chew bubblegum and kick ass. And you are all out of bubblegum!" In other words, positive in their ability to overcome whatever life throws at them. Also I agree with you on your last paragraph. Bubblegum reference:

Misrepresenting my position is not witty and smart. Or is it witty and smart to call someone a pedo because they support young girls twerking in the street and drag queen shows for kids? I wonder if I can find some posts of yours taking offense to being called a pedo.

I already admitted that. So I guess we are talking apathy (lack of love) vs. hatred? You have no problem with the POTUS telling graduates that the country they love does not love them back in equal measure?

I had to look it up. Short answer is: kinda, maybe, if you can make it work. https://relevantradio.com/2019/09/should-catholic-moms-stay-at-home-not-necessarily/#:~:text=“The Church does not teach, home to make ends meet. That same link also calls for fathers to be engaged with their families, as Butker did in his speech. The above is not an official statement from the Church of course.
