I believe that young children at drag events (shows, story hours) has a grooming effect. We can debate the extent to which that is the intention (although the intention is at minimum to normalize the behavior), but if you don't think all of the bright clothes, makeup, hair, lights, and bombastic behavior can have an impression on young children, you know zero about young children. And before someone goes down the red herring about whether or not you can turn a kid gay, not all drag queens are gay. For many it is a lifestyle in and of itself.

I had cabbage at dinner. At home. With corned beef. I recall saying this to you. I didn't insult your wife. I insulted you. You were a d1ck to TNG, own it and stop being a poosay.. I have no sketchy past with TNG, she will confirm this. Have a great night!

Little Help. Security guard thinks I care about the weather
jerryskids replied to nobody's topic in The Geek Club
I'd lean into it. Also you are in LA; like Phoenix, there is basically no weather. Do some research on monsoons and haboobs, and go full frontal weather on his ass. You might need his help in the zombie apocalypse, after all. -
Divorced only twice? My bad. Third time is hopefully a charm. And I didn't say I was going to a baseball game. I said I had been at one. I was admittedly confused as to why somebody would think "going to dinner" would mean leaving the house. I forgot who I was chatting with. Perhaps your latest wife doesn't cook? Too busy with cats? Still a nice comment to TNG, congrats, winning$#@!

You still think "going to dinner" means leaving your house? Thrice divorced guy would probably think that. Nice comment to TNG, you should be proud.

Nice, you sure showed her, center-right guy.

US military says Gaza Strip pier project is completed, aid to soon flow as Israel-Hamas war rages on
jerryskids replied to Cdub100's topic in The Geek Club
Bummer that Hamas is going to take anything of value that comes into Gaza, like they have for the past 20+ years. And then the western Left will blame Israel for denying aid. Rinse and repeat. -
Also, I googled this since weepaws is allergic to links. As usual, it doesn't represent the situation.

No link? Hippy surfer cult leader from SoCal fondled young boys in his cult. I don't need a link.

***EdEx Complaining Thread*** edjr - STAY OUT!!!
jerryskids replied to Gutterboys Flip Flops's topic in The Geek Club
Nobody told Fatsuyama that the rest of my team is tanking for the next tourney. If I miss out on Scheffler because of this, I'm going to personally go Tonya Harding on his back. -
That's why I typed all those words about doing our best to thoroughly vet every entrant, including legal ones. But I'm certainly not going to get into a semantic war with you, so sure, a wide open border is the same as a tightly-regulated legal immigration system which thoroughly vets immigrants, and focuses on economic vs. family justifications. You win, stop it all.
-
I just looked; $65 at my TotalWine. Perhaps JD released a bunch recently. Regardless, it's good stuff.
-
I argue that this is the same faulty logic I talked about. We should do our best to vet all immigrants, taking a cue from Canada (yikes!) to focus on allowing people in based on economic/professional value, not the family relationships of second cousin, thrice removed that we currently operate under. Or more to your point: just because some terrorists got through the cracks 23 years ago doesn't mean we should have a wide-open border.

I'd be shocked if that's the same whiskey. It's probably single barrel, but not barrel proof. I buy stuff from TotalWine all the time, love them. Their app for pre-buying is the best, if you know what you want in advance.

What the hell does this mean? I'd ask for a link, but I know you are allergic to them.

I just looked this up because I heard about it: in some states (including AZ), you do NOT need a membership to by alcohol at Costco. https://www.cnet.com/culture/what-can-you-get-at-costco-without-a-membership/ Apparently you can buy prescriptions and eye exams (but not glasses) without a membership in every state.
-
Interesting analogy. I would argue that the negative stakes are potentially higher with a terrorist threat (mass annihilation), and that there are laws on the books which may not be being followed regarding illegal crossings. But I hear what you are saying.

For lovers of fine whiskey: at least one Costco in our area now has in stock Jack Daniels Single Barrel, Barrel Proof Rye. This is the best whiskey I've ever tasted under $100 a bottle. If you can find it in a liquor store, which is uncommon, it runs about $90. Costco has it for... $57 per bottle. There are some different bottlings, but being barrel proof (cask strength), it is in the 120-130+ proof range. Yet so smooth. You can read the labels for the bottling specifics. I bought two different bottlings. I actually learned about it from a worker at an awesome boutique liquor store/bar/restaurant near my Mayo called Trevor's https://www.trevors.com/mayo I asked the worker if they had it in stock, and he mentioned the Costco deal. I looked at him for a few seconds, and he said "yeah, I bought a bottle there." Even the Costco checkout guy was like "I bought a bottle of this when I found it, and paid, ohhh, $35 more than Costco is charging." Check your Costco if they have it. You won't be disappointed.

I just haven't bought into Theegala. His swing looks so sloppy to me, I can't believe it holds up under competition pressure. Yet clearly, it often does.

I'll talk about one facet, which is the security risk. This is one area where "it happens but is rare" is unacceptable. Of course the vast majority are not national security risks. But it only takes one. The response I've seen is, "but since 9/11 we've had no terrorist attacks attributable to southern border crossings." Whether or not this is true is irrelevant, as it is using the past to falsely predict the future. If the border has changed to make it easier to cross, then some very bad people will likely try. It's when, not if. You can believe that it is unfortunate that the vast majority of illegal aliens are judged by this measure, and maybe it is, but that's reality, and reality isn't always nice.

Trump's NY Election Interference Trial - Trump is found guilty on all 34 counts
jerryskids replied to squistion's topic in The Geek Club
The one with the floating green? We stayed at that resort, but didn't golf. A good friend of ours had a vacation place up there, and threw herself a 40th birthday party at the resort. This would have been around 2006-07, because I was close to 40 as well. After the party, I flew from Spokane through Seattle to Penang, Malaysia to visit my customer. I've wondered if I'm the only person to ever do that itinerary. -

I've been to Spokane, en route to Coeur d'Alene. Beautiful country. Oddly, I've never been to the Seattle metro area (other than the SeaTac airport, but I don't count that). -
Grace Charis - I guess she can golf? Needs her own thread.

Do they have a 4D experience where I get to lob molotov cocktails into a federal building, and then an AI-generated Kamala Harris bails me out?
