I'm not a Giants fan but am interested in what they do at #6.
jerryskids replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
All the talk here is that the Cards will take Harrison if he is there. If he isn't, that means one of the top 3 teams took him instead of a QB, so that QB would still be available, and I would expect the Cards to trade out. My dream scenario is that this happens, they trade down to say the Giants for a bunch of picks, then get Nabers or Odunze (if they really covet a WR). -
Will biden be able to have a 3 day weekend again this week?
jerryskids replied to Engorgeous George's topic in The Geek Club
Fair. I was thinking of the immediate search and rescue, although as I think of it, that will probably involve fed resources as well. -

Heard about the Baltimore Bridge, that sounds pretty bad. Not sure that's something for Biden to deal with, tho. -

Yeah, not at all... and I'm comfortable being liked by the folks here who like me. I can't imagine why anyone would like you, but perhaps they are watching a different movie in which posting the same videos thousands of times is entertaining. Carry on. -

No response to "English"? Also, I haven't defended anything, you stupid twat. Maybe you can post the video again, that might make for good chat board discussion. -

Why are MAGAturds so whiny about wind energy?
jerryskids replied to Pimpadeaux's topic in The Geek Club
Renewables like wind and solar are nice auxiliary sources, but I doubt they'll ever drive grids as a primary source on any consistent scale. -

I didn't respond to you, idiot. And in the past I've tried to kindly guide you in how to not be so insufferable on this board, and rather to have constructive conversations. But you have proven time and again that you are the worst poster who has ever consistently posted here, and that is quite an accomplishment. I honestly wonder how your brain reminds you to breathe, you are so mindless. I would type more to defend these statements, but it is a waste of time, because you are just going to copy this and replace my comments with some stupid, insipid attempt at a gotcha, which will not be funny and will have everyone here (who hasn't put you on ignore) wish that they had. May God have mercy on your internet soul. -

Amen. Seafoam spammed the board all weekend with the same videos again and again and again in every thread; now he is starting threads dedicated to them. I have no idea what he is trying to accomplish with this spam. Is he hoping to convince someone with the 927343829th posting of this video who wasn't convinced with the 927343828th? It's hard to tell how his mind works. What is clear, however, is that he lacks the basic ability to have a constructive conversation on a message board. -
What is the healthiest thing you do? Physical well-being wise
jerryskids replied to naomi's topic in The Geek Club
I generally try to be good in the major factors of good health: Diet: don't eat out much, wife is a great cook who loves to cook from scratch. Generally lower carb but not overly so. Lots of fish, usually at least two veggies at dinner (and leftovers at lunch). High fiber, low carb (other than fiber) granola with yogurt and fruit for breakfast. Some eggs. I also try to drink lots of water, a habit to stay hydrated I started during chemo years ago. Exercise: most days. I just came back from a 20 minute shoot around at the local park. I run down, shoot hoops at a high intensity, run back. Manage to keep my heart rate around 130 plus or minus. Other exercise includes HIIT w/some weight training, hiking, rucking, golf, and a golf workout I've devised. Occasionally running, but I really don't like it; I'd prefer something like HIIT or hoops for cardio. Flexibility: I'm woefully inflexible, but I have a 10-minute stretch routine I do pretty much every day. Golf is my primary motivation, but it's good for overall health. I'd like to get back into yoga some, but I can't do hot yoga (which was my favorite) and I can't hang upside down with my stoma, so I've put it off. Intellectual: I take classes at ASU which are part of the OLLI network for retired folks: https://lifelonglearning.asu.edu/ They are offered at other schools throughout the country, and many of ours are available on Zoom. That's where I started memoir writing, and taken classes on subjects from autonomous vehicle technology (currently) to Einstein's great 1905 year to Beethoven's 9th symphony. Keeps the mind a little sharp. Sleep: Try to get at least 8 hours of sleep. I've noticed the quality is much better when I haven't been drinking (duh), which leads me to rooms for improvement: Drinking: could drink less Social: it's hard with my voice situation, and I've always been this weird introvert/extrovert combo where I love big social situations, but I'm just as happy home alone, so I don't feel like I'm too emotionally hurting. I still occasionally see folks, including at the OLLI classes. -

Exercise my reproductive system. -
It's roughly $100K/year for a full time job. Minimum? Also, and not to you specifically because I'm sure you know it, but it's worse than increasing to $50, because all of the other jobs that require more than minimum will have to be above $50.

Timmy’s thread for general discussion
jerryskids replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
And yet, the 90% was back in the "traditional" Rep candidates like you mentioned, and very few voted Rep. It's only now, with Trump, that Reps are making a dent in the black vote. Thoughts? -
Timmy’s thread for general discussion
jerryskids replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
Somewhere close to 90% of black people in recent history have voted Democrat. 90% of people can't agree that the sun rises in the east. They aren't voting Democrat because each and every one is doing a deep intellectual analysis and concluding that the Democratic party is the objective answer for them. They do so because they are programmed to do it, through family, friends, community influences. This isn't unique to black people. My mom was raised in union, blue dog Democrat NE PA, and readily admitted that she typically voted Democrat down the line. And there are certainly people, including many here, who just vote Rep or MAGA down the line. But please, be intellectually honest. -
I said that I would no longer make fun of your church founded by some dood who preached to hippies and surfers in SoCal, vs. the one true church established by Jesus through St. Peter who continues to provide the spiritual Christian guidance of billions of people. So I won't start now. I will however point out that the Catholic Church which you so revile, curated the books that became the Bible, that book which you interpret to fit your worldview and which you wrongly believe is the only guidance to salvation.

You don't understand the reference between him and me, tard.

I'd probably target 4:30, with the intention of actually getting there by 4:45. I'm notoriously late, largely because there is always one more PITA thing I need to do with my laryngectomy, at least that is my excuse. But as others have pointed out, you don't want to show up as the bride is heading down the aisle.

I just tried to ignore him, but it doesn't work. I still see his posts. This is the first time I've ever put anyone on ignore. Even GF, occasionally during his rants, had a nugget worth reading, often for comedic value but still... Seafoam is just bombarding this place with irrelevant videos. Thankfully few if any people are engaging with him, but despite the lack of positive reinforcement, he's still going strong.

My wife saw Foo Fighters for free at the big Salesforce conference this past year, she said it was a fun show.

Bruce Springsteen is truly the boss. Saw him this past Tuesday. Friends of ours had 4 tix to his concert here this past November, but he came down with some ulcer problem in September and canceled the rest of the tour. This was apparently his first performance since coming back. Their kids were going to go originally but weren't available, so they asked us to go. I've never been a huge Bruce fan but, meh, what the heck, I hear he puts on a good concert, so let's go. Ho-leee fock! He played for just shy of 3 hours non-stop. By non-stop, I mean that when most songs ended, he yelled "1 2 3 4" before the end and launched into a new song. Twice the band went off stage, I presume for some union break rules, but Bruce stayed onstage and played by himself. Dood is 75 going on 35. He played a lot of older, more obscure stuff, but that was back when he was writing meaningful music, so it was great. I knew enough of the songs that, combined with the awesomeness of the seats (not that we sat much), it was phenomenal. In the past two months I've seen Billy Joel (with Stevie Nicks) and Tool. Joel and Tool are two of my favorite artists ever, and I thoroughly enjoyed the shows. But from a pure performance perspective, they couldn't hold a candle to Bruce. If you are a Bruce fan, particularly his older stuff, and you have the chance to see this performance, do yourself a favor and do it.
