Nothing planned. This year is my 35th anniversary so there is added requests to join in an alumni gift, but fock that until they get their house in order. Usually, if I give anything, it's to either the baseball or golf teams, maybe I'll throw them a nominal amount. I think sports are a great pressure release valve at a place like MIT, and they are removed from the woke crap. There is also a capital drive for a new sports performance center which I'm thinking about a similar nominal amount. But, I'm retired with not infinite resources, and feeling kinda ornery towards the school in general, so probably not.

22 years ago or so, I was vacationing with my inlaws in the Yoop. My wife's brother and his wife were trying to have a second kid but having no luck, so she was about to go onto fertility meds. Anyway, BIL golf our regular crappy 9 hole course. We're comparable players but he hits longer. One hole is a long par 5 with a narrow window to a dogleg right. Combined with the greens generally not being in good shape, I'm not sure I've ever parred it. He nuts a drive into the tight dogleg, then crushes a fairway wood that leaves a 25 foot eagle putt, which he makes. After the round, we met the rest of the fam for pizza and launch into the story of his epic hole. BIL's wife, who is a golfer, in hindsight was not as excited about the eagle as I would have thought, instead just patiently waiting for the story to end. At which point she says: "I'm pregnant." Apparently as part of going on the fertility meds, they test as a precaution to make sure you aren't already pregnant (apparently that would be bad for the fetus). Anyway, my first thought was, "way to steal your husband's eagle thunder!" I'm pretty sure I didn't say it out loud though. I did propose they name the kid Eagle, which they of course didn't do.

Wow, that's quite a combo, she was doomed from the get go. At least she didn't take anyone else out with her.

I rarely wore sunscreen when I was younger, but in my 20s or 30s I had some pre-melanoma moles removed, plus living in Phoenix, I wear it whenever I'm going to be out for a while. We have heard the mineral based ones are better (titanium dioxide, zinc oxide) than the chemical ones, so we tend to use those, especially on our faces. For arms/legs/bodies we use either type -- I just picked up some Sun Bum 50 spray (mineral) I used before golfing yesterday. Beware tho, the mineral ones (esp high SPF) can leave a white film. In hindsight I probably should have gotten the 30, that's usually plenty good and rubs in better. Also use CeraVe for facial soap (green label), and I use a CeraVe SA Cleaner (blue label) in the shower on my arms and legs, because they get old man flaky these days. At night I put AmLactin Daily lotion on those same flaky arms (12% lactic acid, which is an alpha hydroxy acid).

Looks like he drove into the water on 18 (his 9), but then hit a good approach shot, so maybe a chance at a 4. Just going by the shot diagram on FD.

I forgot to bet on my guys yesterday, which I usually do (I was real golfing tho so I can't complain too much...). Of course, Rory is leading at -6 early, so his odds are down to +500. I think I'll wait until he gacks (Fanduel is showing he has a penalty).

I'm painfully aware of this. MIT makes a big deal of announcing its new admits on Pi day at Tau time (6:28 pm EDT). It is also the biggest fundraising day of the year. I'll get a bunch of emails tomorrow asking for money to help support its exploding DEI bureaucracy.

Oh noes, the Coptic Orthodox Church did what?! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coptic_Orthodox_Church Also, blessing, not endorsement. Catholic dogma does not endorse same sex marriage. Love the sinner, hate the sin, you may have run across this idea in your spewing of bible quotes. Alrighty then... I'm sorry that you feel the need to show that your sect is more better than the one true Catholic Church established by Jesus through Saint Peter. I'll pray for you to see that works and actions, not bible quotes and insults to alternative methods of worship, are the true path to salvation.

I'm with you on Aberg. When he popped into the top 10 in tourneys this year I was like wait, what?! (now he's guaranteed to win) Fleetwood was another one I kept passing on for guys with worse odds. I really don't like doing that, as my theory is that Vegas knows what it is doing, and they didn't build all of those luxury properties on a model of being wrong a lot. But... he was good value where he was drafted. -
You and I have had this discussion many times. IMO in an uncontested state, you have the luxury of voting 3rd party to make a statement. In a battleground state, you don't. That being said, weepaws hasn't indicated that he is voting 3rd party. I keep asking him what the answer is, but he is incapable of sustained adult conversation. To just not vote is different than to vote 3rd party. That being said, he lives in NV, and I don't honestly know if NV is contested or not.

Women’s Basketball Needs Black Stars, Not Caitlin Clark

It can be about multiple things. But you already knew that before this troll comment. -
I almost took Keegan in the 4th; he was my pick after the turn if AD didn't take him. But, Lager says AD's team sucks so... Yeah, Hovland at #8 seems like a steal. With him and Speef at the turn, I agree Fumble has the strongest team.

Voting for noone is a little girl move that allows you to avoid making a difficult decision, and instead sit on message boards saying "nanny nanny boo boo, I didn't vote for him." I'll pray for you anyway, you need it.

As I've said, I'm still working on my spirituality. So no, I haven't yet, but I'm pursuing it. Now answer mine.

Catholicism doesn't endorse same sex marriage, it endorses praying for people in those situations. But thanks for showing your ignorance. Anyway, what is your solution? I've asked before who to vote for, if not Red team or Blue team? Please don't respond "Jesus Christ," that's non-responsive. Thanks, and I look forward to your response.

Yeah, I hear ya. Possibly the most hated guy in AZ sports lore is Robert Horry, a cheap shot POS who hip checked Steve Nash into the scorer's table during a key playoff game with the Spurs, then Stoudemire got ejected the next game for taking two focking steps onto the court and stopping, and the Suns got eliminated. I wouldn't piss on that guy if he were on fire.
