I worked for a company that was a major supplier to aircraft OEMs, but I never worked on a project for Boeing. DID YOU HEAR THAT BOEING, I DIDN'T WORK ON ANYTHING FOR YOU, SO I KNOW NOTHING!

My wife is a Detroiter (as you know), and a big sports fan. So she too hated Ainge. I had been in Boston in the late 80s so had nothing against him. In 1992 (looked it up) he moved to the Suns; we were dating and had both become Suns fans by now. She said, and I paraphrase: "there is no focking way I'm rooting for that piece of shiot Ainge$#@!" By halftime of the first game, she was rooting for him. We still talk about that whenever there is talk about the Suns acquiring some d1ckhead. You hate those guys... until they are on your team.

I think you made the right call going with the kamikaze squad. Morikawa is a better player, and he seems suited for the course. That being said, there is always the question of how a player does after gacking the prior tourney. Collin seems like a competitive mofo tho, who would use this as an opportunity to rebound.

Harman was on my short (heh heh) list for both my picks. I like him this week.

Why do you say that? Other than the general issue that athletes are always getting bigger/faster/stronger, so generational comparisons are difficult. He had a special combination of inside, outside, and passing skills.

Thanks. Past champ, playing well, I tried not to overthink it. I find I do better when I don't think too much.

I'm glad we have at least one beacon of fiscal conservatism in Congress. I really don't know what to do about entitlements. Very few congresspeople (besides Paul) have the guts to vote to rein them in; even reasonable things like extending the age of eligibility (the fact that they never tied SS to life expectancy is one of our greatest historical fiscal blunders). If they were to vote that way, the American people would vote them out of office. Heck, if every congressperson voted for them, every one of them would lose their position, that's how much America wants its free stuff.

Timmy’s thread for general discussion

I'm not arguing with your position here: personally, I try to never call anyone an "illegal," as I think that using it as a noun is dehumanizing. Much like I try to not call my daughter with Type 1 diabetes a "diabetic," because she is so much more than that. I do, however, use the phrase "illegal alien," because in that phrase "illegal" is an adjective describing the person's alien status, which is illegal. Anyway... my main point is: I believe that, since that comment from Biden went off script, we saw a glimpse of the real Biden. There is a good chance I would vote for that guy, if I heard his real beliefs. But he isn't running; by and large he doesn't exist, except for such glimpses. He is a mostly a shell, an empty vessel, being sent up on stage occasionally to spew words somebody else wrote. I don't know who is writing those words. Who is running the country? It isn't Biden. I can't vote for that. -

Fock, second to last? I still can't even lose right. -
This is very interesting, thanks for posting. I've hesitated to get a gun for home defense because, with my laryngectomy, I can't yell (and without going into details, I generally flat out cannot speak at all in the middle of the night. So if I were to have a gun, I'd need to be ready to make the call to shoot or not shoot with no communication. That's... kinda scary. With this, I can err on the side of shooting, and (probably) not kill the intruder.

Biden looked functional, so that's a win for him. That's where we are for the most powerful position in the world. We'll, other than Hungarian dictator of course. -

To low intelligence people. Unless you think it is a new idea and the rich will just agree to pay more in taxes. -
