My wife started as an engineer in a semiconductor fab. She has a high pitched voice, which didn't help gain respect from the men who worked for her, who were technicians, older, often with military backgrounds of working with large complex equipment... Anyway, for the most part she was treated with respect despite that. However... for a brief period when she was young, there was a problem with the office phones where an admin's phone was mistakenly routed to her number. Her stories of the disrespect she got when people thought she was a "lowly" admin were quite eye-opening. And sad. It's not easy to be a woman in tech, even this day. I have hella respect for any who can do it.

I was bothered by our argument last night. I don't believe that I was acting in a Christian way.. To that end, if you decide to denigrate me in my means of worship, then that is your problem. I will not engage negatively with you any more; rather I will pray for you to seek God's guidance. God bless, weepaws.

How old are you? I ask because my son had a similar attitude until he met the right girl. He's 28, been dating her a year. They aren't engaged yet, but I'll be shocked if it doesn't happen. She's a techie like him, down to earth, not glamorous like I thought he might end up with. But he seems so... content with her. At peace. I'm so happy for him. Anyway, hopefully you find such a person some day.

Touche. Trump and his diehard supporters certainly fit that description as well. So who are you supporting this election, Gutter?

Lifting during ACL rehab isn't that big a deal; it's the lateral movement that takes time. I presume it is similar with this injury -- lifting isn't throwing. Anyway, if this story is completely debunked I'll reconsider, but as of now I'll presume somebody will place more value on him than I will. -
I imagine in your field, you get to work with a lot of women. I was on the tech side of tech, well tech sales, but most of us were engineers by training. Our (few) women were badass tough as nails women who kicked ass and took names; you had to be to be a woman in that role. As such they weren't exactly looking for love in the office; mostly they were looking for respect (and those beautiful commission checks). Plus I worked in a remote office (when we had an office), so I wasn't in the office that much. Anyway... reading up on this phenomenon, and presuming the guy is married, it seems weird to have a close emotional bond with another woman in the office. I know I wouldn't be thrilled if my wife had such a relationship with some dood at the office.

at your last sentence. So say you are... Dave Rubin. Gay guy, seems to agree with what I posted from their website. Might he be the type of person who joins the organization? On a related note, and I don't want to sidetrack this thread with more trans talk, but I suspect that a lot of the kids falling under the spell of the trans social contagion are confused gay kids. I further suspect that a lot of gay adults think "dang, thank goodness that wasn't going on when I was a kid." I further further suspect that a lot of gay adults are not thrilled to have the trans and 46 (or however many at last count) gender stuff under the same umbrella as them. So to me, it is totally believable that a lot of gay people would be in support of this movement.

As their website says, I would expect people to join who fit the following: Are you saying that gays can't oppose these things? Doing so makes them somehow anti-LGBTQ? You Lefties expect 100% compliance. Heavens forbid somebody think something that doesn't follow your propaganda. "if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black."
-
Where does that say there are no gays in the organization? And wiki. On that note: They readily admit those things on the front page of their website. Why does that make them anti-LGBT? Those are all rational positions of people who don't want to be lumped in with attempts to indoctrinate or medically alter children.

Dang, never heard of this. I already avoid drafting people with histories of Jones fractures and Lis-Franc injuries, this sounds similarly bad. -

If you joined today, would you be eligible? I know lots of companies have grandfathered programs -- I worked for one in the mil/aero industry. But by the time I joined they had long since stopped offering. Not questioning what you said, just wondering. -

But that's true of any color. Blacks aren't all the same ethnicity -- they come from various countries in Africa and other places. Same with Brown. Yet you lump them all together into one intersectional box. Some ethnicities (Nigerian, Ethiopian) are doing quite well in the US. -
Agreed. I thought she was a little overrated in her youth, but she has certainly aged well.

Dang, I've got a little mother/daughter fantasy thing going now...

Much Stronger Than Fentanyl, Nitazene Presents a Looming Crisis

Jeebus, how addictive are some of these things that people know they are playing Russian roulette buying drugs on the street, but they still do it. https://www.theepochtimes.com/health/much-stronger-than-fentanyl-nitazene-presents-a-looming-crisis-5593646?utm_source=Morningbrief&src_src=Morningbrief&utm_campaign=mb-2024-03-03&src_cmp=mb-2024-03-03&utm_medium=email&est=AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa%2Bc5ZwpCztPd4LIuuWhYArg0yEwD%2BTwvt3acngPVaRuLrk%2FaLA%3D%3D I know it's easy to say it's some sort of Darwinian thinning of the herd, but China seems to be killing a lot of our people with this stuff. -

Well, I started this thread to talk about an extremely dangerous drug hitting our streets, but Weetard turned it into a thread about why his hippie surfer cult is the bestest Christian cult. He completely lacks any communication skills so he'll probably respond with something about ashes. Anyway, let's see where this goes and if it's interesting. -

You remind me of a Southern Baptist I knew, who once mentioned that her church had recognized Catholicism as a Christian religion. How nice of her! Except she was a nice older woman, and you seem like a pr!ck. Does Calvary teach you to be pricks to other Christians? Or do you have such low self-confidence that you need to do the "my hippie cult is the best!" -

Nonresponsive. Is "gee" taking the Lord's name in vain? Also, is this how Calvary Chapel teaches you to treat fellow Christians? Attain salvation? I follow the faith established by Jesus through St Peter, you follow a cult started by some guy in his garage. That being said, I readily admit that my faith sucks. I've spent much of my adult life not believing, and only recently have re-engaged as part of my spiritual journey. It is one of the curses, or benefits (depending on your perspective), of having an overly scientific mind. Anyway, enough of this sidetrack. Go back to wishing Hell on people who don't follow your particular cult.
