Impressive that the Buttmont Bugle had higher journalistic integrity than the NYT, which has had two editors in the past 25 years admit to Left bias in their writing.
-
Correct, he is not lying. Connecting the definition of lying to being a MAGAtard is DEFCON1 level idiocy. Congrats on that. Oh, and sorry you didn't get that ice cream after the game, big fella. It'll be alright.

New York judge finds Donald Trump liable for fraud
jerryskids replied to Mike Honcho's topic in The Geek Club
Sure, riots existed, but what changed with the Summer of Love is that governments did nothing to stop them. The American people learned a lesson: if you don't like things, feel free to riot and we'll just let you do whatever you want. Take over a portion of a major city? Sure, why not?$#@! Where the 1/6 folks erred was that the lesson was SUPPOSED to be that rioters can do whatever they want as long as it registers higher on the intersectionality scale. -
Thanks for posting this; I was going to ask for examples of his lies, because I think we have different definition of "lie". I randomly selected a topic in your link, "cost of immigration." Here is what it said: Is that a "lie?" Seems more to me like a disagreement on the source data. I'm not saying that Trump doesn't lie, but I think a large number are things that he thinks are correct. Even if they are not correct, I don't personally consider that a lie, because IMO a lie requires intent. The election being stolen is probably the most obvious example. The Left's position on Trump's lies reminds me of a parent who tells their kid they will stop for ice cream after the ballgame. But the game runs late and you don't have time to stop. Kid: "you LIED$#@!" Well, no, it wasn't a lie. It just didn't turn out like we planned.

I'm not sure why you think this is a primary issue. General election, yes, and that's my fear. '22 elections were decided by young white single women (read: lefties) who rallied in droves to vote against abortion bans. To other comments: it's not about changing the vote, it's about rallying people to actually vote. Biden elicits virtually zero enthusiasm. If Trump would just shut his mouth he'd probably walk away with the election. But that will never happen. A large reason Trump does all of this is to listen to himself give the best speeches, the most beautiful speeches. The Left will, smartly, play up this issue bigly as the year progresses.

Funny, because that's how you personally judge the right. In case you forgot from yesterday, I'm a crazy MAGAtard in your eyes. Also one of the above videos is a fringe religion, the other is a government meeting of a major city. Another false equivalency from the Left. Otherwise, good post, good effort. -
My mind didn't "immediately" go to DEI hire. It went there after it was clear that she had a lacking academic resume for such a lofty position (11 papers, no books), and that the papers were rife with authenticity issues that nobody vetted, or if they did, kept quiet about. Here is a good read on it: https://www.insidehighered.com/news/governance/executive-leadership/2024/01/08/did-gay-fail-harvard-or-did-harvard-fail-gay Also, the "double edged" sword is... triple edged? Because there will be cases of poor DEI hires, and folks like Raven and you will argue I'm racist and/or assuming things instead of seriously considering the possibility.
-
Why would I think DEI about a white person?
-
I literally responded to your saying this about me: You don't even remember what you typed 30 minutes ago. Serious question, are you special needs? I don't want to be mean if you are. Anyway, carry on.
-
I'm done with you unless you can recognize the distinction that you've, to this point, seemed incapable of recognizing. Since that is the point of this discussion.
-
I still argue that she was a DEI hire, I still argue that that does not mean that I think all minority hires are DEI hires, and your posts here prove that you still don't see the distinction. Boyo. Agreed it's SAD, just not for the reason you think it is.
-
Thanks for being an idiot, it will help in my discussion with @Fnord. Hey Fnord, check this out. This is an example of where "woke" jumped the shark from "respect and acceptance". I had a discussion recently with Raven Fan where I argued that thinking Claudine Gay was DEI does NOT mean you think that all minority hires are DEI. Above he quoted where I provided examples. But in the woke world, there can be no nuance. Slingblade here will brook no defiance to the orthodoxy -- I am now a MAGA racist. Wheeee!!!!! Anyway, I do appreciate your post in that other thread, and I'll get back over there for a longer response as time allows. I just wanted to point this out.

[** Official President Joe Biden Thread **]
jerryskids replied to Rusty Syringes's topic in The Geek Club
I've said before and I'll re-iterate: there is no way Biden does an in-person, actual debate with Trump. Best case is he'll agree to reading prepared answers to known questions with no back and forth. Most likely he'll say some version of "Trump is a criminal and a Nazi and I've already beat him I'm not lowering myself or this office to rolling in the mud with him and I beat Cornpop too!" And the complicit media will fully support his stance. This is part of why I think anyone but Trump beats Biden. If it were Desantis or Haley, Biden would be in a bind. The DNC would have to come up with something like a new Covid variant excuse, because no way can they let Biden on a debate stage with coherent debaters, it would be a blood bath. -

I'm not going to go back and parse the speech. I'll just say that he isn't running on his record, he is running on Trump being an orange devil nazi. If Trump can manage to focus his campaign on how things suck under Biden, he'll win. Also, to my first (and main) point: -

The bolded is demonstrably false. You personally may or may not believe things, but these things have all been supported by the Left. -

University presidents won’t condemn antisemitism

What would "mean something"? -
That's how I feel. I understand that there are issues with fertilized eggs being destroyed, which the Church considers a form of abortion, but at a high level the parents are bringing a new life into the world. To me it's a bit of a Sophie's Choice, picking one to live. But it's still a net good IMO.

It certainly exposed him to a much wider audience than he had on the west coast only. Performance wise, I thought he did well overall. Stuck in there with the hurt ribs. Missed a few throws, particularly that wide open Odunze on 4th down, although I think he was a little afraid of that safety on the inside. But on 4th down... anyway, I'm no expert but his throwing motion is a little unorthodox to me. His body opens up and he slings it a bit sidearm. Comes out quick and seems to have plenty of zip, but what do NFL scouts think? Also takes everything in shotgun, although that is more and more the norm these days. Folks on X thought he needs some work on footwork. That being said, having watched Jayden Daniels at ASU for 3 years, Penix is hella better than him. Daniels will get broken like a twig in the NFL. -
