She had four instances of omitted quotes in a 330 page dissertation, four sources she had already referenced multiple times throughout the dissertation. Also you act like Gay was pressured out because of plagiarism alone. She was pressured out because her school was dead last in the FIRE free speech analysis, she had enabled a hostile environment to Jewish students and faculty, and she bumbled through the congressional hearing. The plagiarism was icing on the cake. It has been noted that her 11 papers and 0 books was woefully insufficient for typical Harvard standards for her position. If she was going to have such a sparse academic record, it should be a good one. The fun thing is, most of us had never heard of Neri Oxman before this. Everytime some Leftie lemming like you mentions her, she gets more free pub for her art endeavors. So keep up the good work, Rusty.

If Biden is found guilty, we can conclude some of the evidence is proof. Where you show your stripes is your indignance at even doing the investigation. HTH

Well then you are not listening or looking. Try the 11 second mark where he says "now something dangerous is happening in our country. There is an extremist movement that does not share our beliefs in democracy," while peppering the screen with Trump signs. If your response is something like, "well, he didn't say those exact words," then you are further cementing your reputation as being the least observant poster on this board, and I seriously wonder how you function in the real world.

My initial thoughts on the thread were when Nixon officially took us off the gold standard, but upon researching we were basically the last holdout on the move to fiat, and it had largely been done since FDR, so there is no single event to trigger. That being said, and I also don't have a date, but in my mind it was somewhere in the 80s or 90s when we as a culture started celebrating single parenthood. I'm not saying we should shiot on single parents, but we shouldn't celebrate them either. Just like we shouldn't celebrate 43 different genders and various sexual preferences. For a culture to continue to survive, it needs to foster traditional values: getting married (to the opposite sex), having children and prioritizing their development, staying married, respecting your elders (particularly in your family), etc. These should be the things we aspire to achieve -- again, it won't always happen, but those should be the goals. Whenever that started to decline, would be my answer.

This is a big difference. I did a charity thing where you hit a bunch of balls at a green from about 125 yds. After about 10 I got grooved in and was peppering the green. I probably hit 50 total and had a handful stop within 10 feet. I was playing to about a 16 at the time. At that point any one could have gone in, but so much has to go right it is difficult to predict.

Meh, I doubt she'll leave. She has been at MIT less than a year and in that time has been somewhat receptive to improving free speech. I don't feel strongly that she should leave, pending the info in this tweet and if it actually turns into something useful. Also, MIT's "brand" is to be the best technical school in the world. Harvard's is to be the most prestigious. Prestige has taken a much bigger hit over this.
