Maine’s top election official removes Trump from 2024 primary ballot
jerryskids replied to Mike Honcho's topic in The Geek Club
I was merely commenting on Rusty's inability to read. That being said, what weird law? Do you mean her power to remove someone from the ballot? I'm interested to see how this plays out with SCOTUS. On the one hand, a conservative-leaning court should err on the side of giving states the power to determine their candidates. But on the other hand, these states are finding Trump guilty of things he hasn't even been formally accused of, so it seems like some sort of violation of his rights, or the rights of the electorate, or due process. I dunno, I'm not a lawyer, but it comes down to a person or small group arbitrarily deciding they don't want him on the ballot. -

Somebody can't read. The ruling was made by a single Democrat Secretary of State. -
I'll admit I was wrong about DeSantis. It still amazes me that a guy who became so popular in his state, and deservedly so because of the success of that state, could not translate it to a national stage. I was also wrong about Trump having any chance of winning. Anyway, thanks for digging up old posts of mine. I'm enjoying that RMFF space in your head.

"Republicans hate black people." Today's yutes really have been brainwashed by the left
jerryskids replied to edjr's topic in The Geek Club
You can get ID without it being a DL. My daughter thought about doing it when she moved to NY recently since she doesn't drive there, but I convinced her to get the DL for times like this week when she is back home. There are 258M adults in the US; 36M would be 14%. I cannot believe that that many people don't have ID. Also I looked up ID requirements for SNAP; the internet varies on answers. One site claimed you can do it without ID but it is a pain in the ass, and also may vary by state. The AZ site for assistance provides no such alternatives -- you need ID. -

Thanks. Looking at your first link, I think you did the math wrong. I don't believe these should be added. What it seems to be saying is that 7M of the 29M without licenses have no other valid ID. So the number is 7M, not 36M. That number still seems high to me, but it's better. -

Do you have a link to this 36M voting-aged adults in the US without ID to vote? That is quite difficult to believe. Thanks. -

He also should consider getting a mobile device which plays videos. I hear they are a thing with the kids these days. -

What was not mentioned? The topic of the video in the OP is voter ID. -

People with intelligence and nuance understand my point, which consistently includes that there is nothing inherent about black skin that impacts intelligence. You, unfortunately, have neither intelligence nor nuance. So carry on, simpleton. -
Can men get pregnant. What do students at UPenn think?
jerryskids replied to edjr's topic in The Geek Club
I think we as a conservative group too often conflate liberalism with leftism. True liberals like Maher, Rogan, and Weiss are different than the leftists driving wokism through Tumblr. So I would personally amend his statement to say that all leftists think men can get pregnant. It's in their religious belief system, so they must. -
This describes practically every Palestine protester.

Thanks! What's the link? I forgot to bookmark it last season.

I had a light blue one. It was one of the few name brand things I got, 'cause we was a little poor.

Had to look that up, never heard of it. I thought it would be part of the ginormous Goldwater Air Force range but apparently it's its own thing in the middle of nowhere. I'm sure the nightlife was great.

Yuma, eesh... your company must hate you! We didn't have much time at the end of the day, so we just checked out the Caduceus tasting room. I haven't looked into tours of the actual vineyard (or any others in the area), but we will do so for the upcoming trip.

It's funny looking at your avatar and reading this. But this is basically how I feel. I'm not that big, only 32" inseam and thin, so I don't need the extra room. Also I spent most of my traveling days flying Southwest which doesn't have first class, so I didn't get free bumps (but basically free drinks). I have had them on other airlines occasionally, and my first company out of college paid for business class for international flights (which included first class on the domestic legs). In addition to the quick departure from the plane, I liked that I was generally surrounded by seasoned travelers who kept to themselves instead of making nervous chat with me to get over their fear of flying.

My wife booked us a three-day getaway in the wine country up north, a little west of Sedona. Cottonwood/Jerome area. Included is a ride on the Verde Canyon Railroad. https://verdecanyonrr.com/ We'll do some hiking in and around Sedona, visit wineries and the quaint little towns, and fock like 56 yr old rabbits. Side note: this is the area that Maynard James Keenan, front man for Tool, has his wineries. My daughter and I did a day trip to Sedona last month, and cut through this area on the way back, visiting one of Keenan's wine rooms (Caduceus was the brand). Surprisingly good wine. The wine from this region has really blossomed in the past decade or so.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to my Geek friends

A very Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all you folks! In between meals, feeling a nap on our hammock coming on. 62 and sunny. -
I had to Google this. tl;dr -- a couple of yokels yelled slurs, everyone directly involved with the event apologized and said that was not consistent with their message of inclusion. What would you like them to do differently in this situation? Oh, and I like the Leftists treating him like crap, there is your party of inclusion. I can see why he says coming out as conservative was harder than coming out as gay. Hint: it isn't because conservatives are mean and vindictive.

That entire thread, OMG what a Lefty echo chamber!

🇺🇸Father Trump Talk-🚨The Official Thread of the Week Magaverse👉Squissy no tax on your SS thanks to the BOSS

Just wondering, had you read my post from earlier today when you asked if I had posted my opinion? It still seems like you haven't read it, because if you had, you'd know my opinion on the obscure Federal codes they found to charge him with. -

I offered my opinion in this thread earlier today. Basically a bunch of people with like minds as you said "dadblammit, Trump didn't actually commit a crime, but he's bad and mean and orange and we need to charge him with SOMETHING$#@!". I find it pathetic to treat a former POTUS that way. There is a legal word/phrase for the fallacy you are proposing but I can't think of the name. Basically, the fact that Trump's behavior was necessary for the events of 1/6 does not mean he is liable for the events. -
Much better. That's awesome, thanks!

Please explain, perhaps an example? I don't follow.
