    Hey ‘Skids

Arghh... we're in a playoff race dambit! Thankfully I missed that they had an early start today so I was spared watching it today.

Stephen Kings Latest novel is a liberal wet dream

I just started reading his memoir/writing book "On Writing" to help with my own memoir activities. Interesting seeing how he got into writing -- basically he was sick for most of a year when he was young and was bored, so he read and wrote alot. Then his Mom gave him a very positive reinforcement to one of his early stories. It's amazing how something like that can shape a person's path. Anyway, I've only gotten to his HS years but so far he seems like an enterprising capitalist. I'll have to see if I can see signs of him deteriorating into a liberal.

    ***Happy Football Day Week 2****

That Addison catch salvaged an otherwise disastrous FF night, especially since I'm playing against the best team in the league. Also that catch helped me win my biggest bet of the night: $25 on Smith 60+ re yds, Addison 40+ re yds. +188 for $72 payout. I don't usually bet more than $10 a play, but it was a "no-sweat" bet where you get a bonus bet back if you lose, so I figured what the hell.
  4. I can't remember the last time I slept through the night; I drink a lot of water, and with my, umm, mature prostate, I usually get up at least twice to pee. I'd love to sleep through the night, alarm or no.

Jeez, 3 turnovers already. Sloppy start. I do have D Smith on my IBL team and in a parlay, so that's good.

I got Mattison in because I have no real choice, but I'm cautiously optimistic. Also rolling with Addison in same league. Options are Gabe Davis or Drake London. It's kinda a wash IMO so I'll go with the guy I'll watch play (vs. Red Zone). Also I may need one of the others (prolly London) in the flex if Ekeler isn't a go.

Hunter Biden indicted on federal gun charges

You have no idea what exactly was in those documents, or how classified it truly is or remains. Also, you truly have no idea how completely you've swallowed the blue pill on this. The media has drawn for you a Venn diagram of the Trump and Biden docs situations; there is a lot of overlap, particularly that pesky "had info he wasn't supposed to have and it wasn't secure" part. You know, the actual bad part. But you say that's fine. Then when he balks at returning it, you say BAM! That's the bad part! Really? Think that through. I've already explained a thousand times how with Trump it's "how can we arrest him" whereas with Biden, Hillary, and pretty much every politician in the national spotlight ever, it's "how can we let them off." You choose not to see it.

Hunter Biden indicted on federal gun charges

You used to work with werds; how did you draw this conclusion from what I posted? I think Trump probably broke some laws. I have serious questions as to whether or not he should be punished, certainly regarding the degree of punishment. This Hunter gun charge strikes me a lot like the Trump documents case. Seems like a slam dunk from a factual basis. But really, this is how they are spending our tax resources? Who cares? If you feel that way at all about this Hunter case, I invite you to explore that same feeling for that Trump case.

The courts, yes, I would certainly hope so. That has nothing to do with the political motivations which bring the cases before the courts. Otherwise, good job, good effort.

It's a common fallacy of Leftists to expect the Right to behave like they would. If I had a nickel for every time you've said something about the Right not getting its way even though it was a Trump-appointed judge, I'd have a lot of nickels. It honestly never occurs to you that, just maybe, these judges are being impartial and interpreting things objectively. You and your Leftie buddies presume, however, that they will all be complete sycophants to the cause, like Sotomayor, Kagan, and Brown-Jackson. Actually, this is interesting data I found, rating Scotus: https://www.axios.com/2019/06/01/supreme-court-justices-ideology Sotomayor is by far the most partial, and it isn't close. And the three libs are more partial than 4 of the 6 "conservative" justices.
  12. Thanks. I certainly question the "police for profit" approach, as it creates undesired incentives like you point out. Is this widespread? I don't know how different PDs handle the territories/precincts. I technically live in the city of Phoenix, but it is a suburban section of relatively low crime. I was once told that there is a single cruiser dedicated to our area of 80K+ people (this was a while back, we probably have two now!). If I see three or four units at a scene, I know some ish is going down. Anyway, back on topic, if Phoenix has a profit motive, I would find it hard to believe that the folks cruising my suburbia have the same "quota" as those in higher-crime areas.
  13. It's fascinating, when I first tried to google this topic, I got an entire page about 1/6 even though I specifically put 2020 riots in the search. When I modified it I got a curated list from the top Leftist sources like yours, including WaPo, CNN, USA Today. All said "no evidence of Antifa!" I thought the NYT one was kind of interesting. Excerpts: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/11/us/antifa-protests-george-floyd.html So basically, it walks like Antifa and quacks like Antifa, but it isn't Antifa. Heck, even Antifa (in the last section above) said that the scale, intensity, and durability of the protests were far beyond anything they might dream of organizing. Are we to believe that spontaneous, organic riots fit this description? Something doesn't add up. It appears that the machine was incredibly vested in gaslighting the public that the riots were very much spontaneous and organic, fueled by the sheer passion of the cause. But, I realize I'm disparaging the very media machine that you hold sacrosanct, so I doubt our discussion will go very far.
  14. To the bolded, I would go to the high crime locations, and I would pull over the people that best fit the profile that I had developed from my experience on the job. Which is why I'm confused about your point that they are doing the same things all over the city. I'm not familiar with the details of the quota system you are describing so I hesitate to comment on it.
  15. I cannot fathom how anyone who paid any attention during the riots could possibly believe the bolded. Antifa consistently bussed people and supplies for the express purpose of rioting.
  16. What I took from your posts, for the purpose of my post, is that you believe that the same policing methodologies used successfully in high-crime areas are also used in low-crime areas. I'm asking if you have data to support it. Also I'm sorry for adding a little snark to make my point. When you recover and crawl out of your safe space, please provide the data.
  17. I apologize if I missed it, but do you have data which shows that cops are descending on suburbia and harassing Toyota Camry's with window stickers of stick people and stick dogs?

  22. My question was: how does a black/white person know how white/black people are treated by police? I suppose there could be some mixed race encounters where the cops tell the white suspects to leave so that they can abuse the negroes. But otherwise, with what life experiences can they make that claim? If you lack the ability to process this, let me know and I'll move on.
  23. Blacks say they are treated worse than whites? And whites say the same? How could they possibly make such a comparison. Seems to me they are regurgitating what the media tells them. To that end, I do not have that data, nor did I mean to imply that I did. I presume there is data on the last paragraph list of yours. If you find it though, make sure you cross-reference it with actual crimes statistics. If people are pulled over more but found to have committed crimes at a comparable rate, it's not racism. I don't want to get sucked into this at the moment; my post was specific to the shooting of unarmed, complicit black citizens, which is statistically non-existant.
  24. I posted this recently but here goes again: https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2020/07/03/police-black-killings-homicide-rates-race-injustice-column/3235072001/ In 2019 there were 14 unarmed Black victims of fatal police shootings from a total of 10 million arrests (across all races). This is not a systemic problem.
