No, I argued it might be customary in El Sal to serve people margaritas, dope. You are so irretrievably broken, it's pretty much not worth talking to you at this point. -

I agree that a lot of the value from college is stuff like the bolded, as well as learning to manager your time, budget money, live on your own (our kids all went local to ASU but lived in dorms (two kids, one year) or apartments (the rest of the time, they hated the dorms). -

I didn't say that. I personally think it is unlikely that they were drinking margaritas. This comes primarily from my own research -- when we discussed this in the past, I asked if perhaps having a margarita was a social norm in El Sal. You didn't answer, and later I looked it up -- the answer is no, margaritas aren't popular there. They had some other drink I hadn't heard of, I don't recall at the moment. My point is that Van Hollen is either a liar or a gullible dupe, as per the X post I shared. HTH Does this constitute a gay slur on your part? -

I agree with your father in principle. We were lucky that Arizona gives pretty much a free tuition ride to kids who excel at SATs and/or GPA. I negotiated with my wife that we would pay for room and books like she wanted, but they would work for any spending money. It worked well, as all three worked during summers and as their course loads allowed during the semester. One of the three changed majors and took > 4 years; we did have her take out loans to help pay for that, since the above scholarship expired. -

California fast-food restaurants — including In-N-Out — struggle under $20 minimum wage law
jerryskids replied to edjr's topic in The Geek Club
It was stated above that Newsom's law only applies to companies with 60 or more stores nationwide. That's a bit of a lie though, as smaller companies will still need to pay market or near-market wages to retain staff. Like you, I worked many jobs for that magical $3.35/hour number. When I got to college and got a job in their bookbinding department for $5.40, I was all cha-CHING! Interestingly, I don't hate minimum wage as much as you appear to. I think it served a purpose. But that purpose was to set a minimum for "starter" jobs, intended for mostly HS kids, often at fast food restaurants. If you are working a minimum wage job at a fast food restaurant, you should either be living at home with your parents or in a fleabag apartment with at least 3 other renters, all of you eating ramen every day. It was never intended to provide a living wage to support a family and live on your own. -

Parents call out unfairness as trans pitcher throws shutout in Minnesota softball state quarterfinals

I'm trying to imagine the mental state it requires to follow Riley Gaines on X and monitor her posts daily in hopes of finding some nugget to finally secure that gotcha proving that she isn't a saint. -
A few I like that haven't been mentioned: Chris Squire from Yes John Chancellor from Tool. So many great Tool bass lines, hard to pick just one. Here is Schism:

- Abraham Accords - Accelerated Covid vaccine in record time - Thriving economy, twice - Reduced foreign dependence including drilling/refining and shipbuilding - Got European NATO countries to commit to 5% and to be more self-reliant instead of second-handers to the US - Helped Israel curb stomp Iran Things that started wrong but he has shown he can learn: - Easing up on tariffs - Beginning to internalize that Putin isn't going to negotiate, so our position will be less friendly with Russia -
Study finds link between Trump supporters and “malevolent disposition.”

SJP is Students for Justice in Palestine. They are a radical group of anti-zionists and Pro-Hamas students. The ones who, when they yell "from the river to the sea," know exactly what it means. Mother earth/Gaia is not an idol? -

I like this paragraph: Apparently, I suffer from RWA because I believe that there are moral absolutes and that we should encourage and enforce them. And I suffer from SDO because I think our society is superior to, say, one that encourages death to all infidels, and marries girls off at 12 yrs old after castrating them and stuffing them in a full body burka. I need help. -

Leftists are much more likely to exhibit cult-like behaviors. In general Leftists think they are too smart to believe in God. Unfortunately, people have an innate need to believe in SOMETHING, so they move to non-religious idols. Examples can be found within the ranks of climate change, transing kids, queers for palestine, SJP, BLM, Antifa. HTH -
Sydney Sweeney once again proves it impossible to be gay

Commenting is melting down? Is that what your moderate X feed told you? Here is Vance's comment: What a meltdown! I can just see the froth spewing from his mouf! Here's a related pro tip: if your MSDNC uses the word "pounce" (not saying they did here, yet) to describe the Right's behavior, that's code for "we Lefties did something stupid, and unfortunately the Righties noticed, so now we need to make the issue the 'pouncing' and not the stupid thing, so that simple minded people will follow that butterfly." -
Israel Gaza thread- is the peace agreement still in effect?
jerryskids replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
In a vacuum, a single young person can have more life experience and wisdom than an older person, if that older person were say a trust fund kid who manages his father's commercial real estate holdings. But as a collective, older people are wiser. That's kind of the definition of wisdom. Today's young people in particular have been raised in a participation trophy atmosphere where they are never told that they are wrong or their ideas are stupid. -

Maybe they should give all of Israel to Hamas. Think how strong they'd be then$#@! Israel would happily co-exist with a peaceful Palestinian region. Unfortunately, for my entire lifetime, those people elect terrorist regimes generation after generation. But this generation would be different, right Tim? -

Do you know the demographics of this Israeli "support"? I'm guessing it correlates pretty highly with people who get their news from TikTok. Which is to say, young people with no real life wisdom. -

Eviscerating Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran makes Israel weaker? Who knew? Good thing you aren't controlling Israel's defense. And Hamas knows this, hence why they won't negotiate. It's a conundrum wrapped in an enigma. Perhaps Israel should do like TimS suggests: leave Palestine, cater a bunch of Qdoba to them, and give Hamas a stern talking to. It's exhausting, isn't it?
