Long read from the Free Press but worth it if you have the time: https://www.thefp.com/p/how-qatar-bought-america?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email While not unique to Trump as it's been happening for decades, this cozying up with Qatar is getting out of hand. Pam Bondi, our AG, used to lobby for them. And she is supposed to decide if accepting the airplane is OK. Seems like a lack of checks and balances. Kash Patel used to work with/for Qatar. Qatar bailed out Steve Witkoff, our Middle East negotiator, with $600M+ to save him from a crap real estate investment. Jared Kushner got like a $B into his investment fund. Trump golf courses in Doha? Long before Trump, we let Qatar completely fund and build our primary military base in the ME. They've invested billions into our colleges to teach hatred for the West and Jews. They've bought influence in states like SC through purchases of a bunch of Boeing jets manufactured there. This is a country with a ruling family that openly supports and funds a who's who of terrorist scum in the ME: Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, Muslim Brotherhood. Perhaps this gift of the jet will be the impetus for a movement towards this finally getting under control.

Fire Attack on Isreali sympathizers in Boulder Colo.

I gotta say that I like this idea of doing what I'll call a "Kaiser Soze deportation." If an illegal alien commits a crime, particularly a violent and/or felony, you deport his wife, kids, aunts, uncles, grandparents, friends, barber... that'll put an end to this behavior right quick. Well, maybe not for a radical nutjob from the Religion of Peace like Soliman, but for "regular" criminal illegal aliens. -

No, remarkably, it was unanimous. Maybe Roberts convinced them to take the right side for once? -

Might be victims of Mohamed's actions? Sure, I can't say at this point if they knew anything about it, although if he was planning it for over a year, that's a bit of a stretch. Victims of the US government? Absolutely not. -

Yes, USA Today is quite Leftist. The editors let this slip through the cracks tho: The Left often refuses to expect personal responsibility from people on the marginalized intersectional scale, but adults can recognize that what happens to Soliman's family is the responsibility of one man, and it is the man who said he loves jihad more than his wife and kids. -
Parents call out unfairness as trans pitcher throws shutout in Minnesota softball state quarterfinals
jerryskids replied to jbycho's topic in The Geek Club
It struck me as odd that a guy could be so successful pitching underhand, since boys don't grow up pitching that way. But we are early, I'm confident that more will accomplish this sad success as we accept it as a society. Sports like track and field, swimming... if there is no difference in the techniques, then the men will eventually prevail. -
Some tie to supporting Qatar seems like a slam dunk.

The important thing is that Marissa was happy, not that their happiness destroyed fair competition for the other team. Also, it only happens 0.00000001% of the time so we shouldn't care. Except during championship weeks, where it seems to happen quite often. -

Ouch! Anyone remember @RicemanX? Asian guy who lived in SF. He posted about a suspicious white van parked outside of his apartment, even included a photo IIRC. I think that was the last we ever heard from him. -
It was a big campus for a major aerospace company. It also had a great gym with large areas for free weights, machines, cardio, and yoga classes. The company was very good to its employees. Even though they had downsized some, they kept these things running. Actually, now that I think about it, the corporate HQ was a few miles down the road, and I heard the president used the gym in the morning (I went in afternoons), so that's probably why they kept it open.

Have you ever apologized to a GF from your past?

This should have been the obvious direction for me to go. -

OK, that's a different situation. If he basically ghosted you after getting fired (maybe he was embarrassed?), then saw you after returning to that company 25 years later... it might be MORE awkward if he didn't offer a little closure. My wife got ghosted before we started dating. He worked at another company in our industry, they went on a few dates, and had planned to go somewhere outdoors (lake maybe?). He just never showed and never contacted her. I couldn't imagine ever doing something like that to someone. Oh well, his loss was my gain. -
Yeah, I was going to say "new pron link."

This makes a lot of sense. One, it provides disincentive for the next "religion of peace" illegal whack job to stop himself from committing such atrocities. Two, it's fair to presume that these children were raised in an environment of intolerance and hatred for western culture. -
I see that weepaws didn't spend his time away learning how to provide links for his posts.

I last worked in an office about 10 years ago, and I generally brought both. I was doing low carb so breakfast was usually two pieces of bacon and a hard boiled egg. Lunch was generally leftovers from dinner the night before. If we didn't have leftovers, I'd eat the cafe food which was actually quite good with lots of options -- they usually had a Messican station, pizza and maybe calzone station, roast meat and veggie station, as well as sammiches, salads, and a grill stations.

That's weird. He's gotta know you are married, right? Unless this is part of some therapy BS then I don't see what good could come of this. -
Girls' track and field athletes don't stand on podium next to trans athlete at Oregon state championship
jerryskids replied to jbycho's topic in The Geek Club
It seems odd to me that a person like yourself, from the party of protecting the minority and oppressed, would use the "but it's rare" argument. As I said earlier though, regarding sports, by definition more straight/regular girls are affected by sports competition than the trans person themself, since that trans person affects the multiple people in their event, over various scopes already discussed here. So I'm glad we can agree that trans women shouldn't be in women's sports. I don't actually feel strongly about the bathroom debate, and I'm not sure what the right answer is. I was merely pointing out that taking a dump in a stall is not the concern of the opponents. I'll also add that IMO the concern isn't as much from true gender dysphoria trans people, but rather from bad men who might take advantage of such policy. -

Here was your question: That's a strawman for the concern people have regarding men in women's restrooms. -

Gotcha. I guess my levity/snark meter was on the fritz. I think the "all" argument is a bit of a stretch, but also depending on your frame of reference. All female athletes can be impacted by males in their sports these days, but all women of childbearing age can be impacted by abortion... but all women of any age can be impacted by males in their safe spaces (bathrooms, locker rooms, etc.). Arguing this point isn't particularly important to me, so I agree, let's carry on. -
Enjoyed watching ASU compete in the LA regional, even though they ultimately lost. Wife and I talked about catching a few regular season games next year, and maybe road tripping to a regional if they make it again. It looked like a fun atmosphere.
