It would be funny if it weren't so sad. He doesn't care about the only support in that article, who clearly has a gripe with the Nigerian president because the president wants to address terrorism. Won't even read it. Because "we've" moved past him. The party of information and knowledge.

His X posts are the only supporting evidence in that article. And Christian genocide is terrorism. Otherwise, good post, good effort.

My guess is that the US went to Nigeria about stopping the Christian genocide, the Nigerian president said that they have a tenuous relationship between the Christians and the Muslims, so it's better if we position it as religion-neutral "terrorists" so that one side doesn't get pissed.

Sigh, Most of that is opinions of the Reuters reporters, supported only by some security management guy named Kabir Adamu, not by the Nigerian government. If you check out his twitter feed, you'll see that he disagrees with the Nigerian president taking actions against terrorists. https://x.com/kbadtweet He may or may not be correct about the powers of the Nigerian president, but it seems odd for a security person to object to actions against terrorists... unless maybe it is bad for his security business if bad guys go away. Regardless, he's not objective. I hope this deeper dive has been educational for you.

Yes. It has quotes from Nigerian officials saying they are working with the US. It describes a group of Islamic jihadists who were the likely targets. The headline is lefty pap from Reuters which is unsubstantiated by the body of the article. Since you apparently can't read, I'm glad I could be of help.

I very much prefer parents make such decisions vs. lawmakers, but there needs to be a guardrail. We wouldn't let a parent starve a child to death in belief that it would cure an illness, for instance. But wait, you say, transing the kids is supported by the medical community! This is where I explain my model of the medical community. One, doctors are neither omniscient nor infallible. I learned this as a young adult, and have debated with doctors throughout my life, including my cancer journey, on care decisions. Two, I've worked with many people with advanced degrees, and regardless of the field, the following is true: the higher the degree, the more they will defer to their peers in adjacent fields. An orthopedic surgeon will absolutely defer to a urologist on urology issues -- after all, he wouldn't want a urologist telling him how to handle a knee surgery. This is how we get statements like "the medical community" supports it -- most doctors are just defering to... ... transgender care doctors. The problem with this is that everyone who enters the field is biased towards believing children and helping them on their trans journey. After all, that's why they entered the field and work with such kids, right? So there is an inherent systemic bias. Then there is the whole discussion of social contagion (which absolutely has happened) and woke pressure (which influences lobbying groups like the AMA and APA). By the way, when I hear the phrase "gender affirming care" to describe mutilating children, I want to club a baby seal with a puppy. It disgusts me that the left conflates therapy with mutilation. What you are describing is, at its kindest, gender changing care, and more accurately, gender destroying care. Europe led the way in transing the kids, and we followed like good little Leftie lemmings. Europe has now seen the error of its ways, but we're not quite ready to give up our woke position on this. Some day we will look back on this time in horror at the way we abused our young people in the name of social justice points. As I told Real Tim when we had this discussion, when that day occurs, Lefties will just say "oh well, we meant well!" That is the nice thing about Leftism -- you can pave a lot of roads to hell with your good intentions. I'll skip your abortion strawman for now, to not dilute the discussion even more.

Sorry Tim, you hate your own people. IDF is comprised of Jewish people, and you believe that running over people on the side of the road is the rule and not the exception. Tim is allergic to talking about Hamas. When he does it, he uses as few words as possible, followed by a "but..." Something like, "yes Hamas is terrorist but..." It's as if every word he spends on it would make him face reality.

FWIW, I've never been a Murka-only isolationist. I happily support the destruction of Hamas and Boko Haram, because I realize that there is evil in the world, and that the world is a better place without that evil.
