Our center-right posters haven't disappointed in this thread.

DOGE is less than 100 days old; isn't it a little early to say it didn't do "near the good?" I mean, they probably didn't anticipate finding out that the government retirement process works with paper files in a mine in PA.

Most successful businessman in the world, who has started multiple companies driving phenomenal innovation. Gutter the pseud Leftie is smarter than him though; that's why he posts on a FF forum all day, and why he believes that a guy worth close to $400B did Doge to steal his data.

Yeah, I was expecting hot wimmens doing splits in yoga pants.

Sam Leavitt is with Arizona State, not Iowa State. You darn near gave me a coronary.

No, I'm still watching Dexter. I'm through the Lithgow/Trinity season and on the next one with the girl Lumen -- people here warned me that it got woke after Lithgow, but I'm enjoying it well enough. These are shows I mostly watch doing an 11 minute stretching routine, and that's if I'm not watching sports. So it can take me a week to get through an episode. Black Mirror 7 is next up for sure, tho.

Sounds like it boomeranged on them. -
LIBERATION DAY: USA and China agree to a 90 day pause on most new tariffs

@SaintsInDome2006, adding to this, can you explain your comment about "department store?" It doesn't seem to gel with Business Insider, which makes no such analogy: https://www.businessinsider.com/donald-trump-compares-us-beautiful-department-store-trade-deals-tariffs-2025-4 Also, feel free to respond to my initial comment above. -

I appreciate the thoughtful response. I'm out and about for the day so can't give a long response. I'll just say for now that many of these ideals can find roots in both parties. Sacrifice for the nation, for instance, harkens to military service as well as the idea of austerity to balance budgets/reduce debt, all of which are modern right positions. -
I just put my entire investment portfolio in Tim Horton's. Winning$#@!

Well, let's see. DOGE contributes to a balanced budget; hopefully you can agree that reducing size and waste is consistent with conservative principles. You've made hundreds of posts about DOGE -- please point to one that supports it, or if not, at least supports the concept (if not for that evil $400 billionaire trying to steal your retirement funds). TIA

You have? Can you give me a tl;dr? -

I just wanted to point out that the bolded is pure leftism. Given the choice of two people having one dollar, or one person having two and the other having five, the left would choose the former every time. Equity is king, after all. -

That may or may not prove true in the future. I was merely pointing out the potential fallacy in Gutter's statement. -

Not if more (more) people in the US buy cars made in the US. -
I've already retracted that statement. You may be a registered republican but you are a leftist, you just don't want to admit it. Many here don't, that's why we have the running joke of calling folks like you and Rusty "right-leaning centrists." HTH

6 dead as car drives through daycare in Illinois

I hope so. Stupid and irresponsible is a lot easier to reconcile than pure evil. -
I retract that statement, as it appears he is taking some more pragmatic/centrist actions, including a repeal of the carbon tax despite his strong support of climate/alternative energy. I guess time will tell.

I didn't get a chance to respond to this yesterday, but sigh... we are never, ever annexing Canada, nor any random province in the middle of the country. But we did get a far-left leader on our northern border. Great job Trump. Wheee!

How will they save us by going further whackadoodle left?

And Teslas. Because Musk. Also, a day care? Really? What level of evil do you need to do that? -
Good ones listed. I'll add a few: Steel Magnolias -- overall a very funny and entertaining movie, but I have a daughter with Type 1 diabetes, so I can never watch it again. Sommersby -- an obscure (perhaps) chick flick with Richard Gere
-
It's not about being scared. It's about Trump stopping himself from saying stupid stuff which will help a progressive get elected to our northern neighbor.
-
You should be happy. Trump's idiocy on this topic is going to help the Lefties win elections in Canada, as an anti-Trump vote.
