All went well. Here is what my wife has been sending out: He's done and in recovery. The nodule is "consistent with squamous cell" (what he's had before). She took some more lymph nodes but they looked normal. They will test them. He'll be in recovery for "a while". She said his lungs look great. Funny, we always hear how healthy he is other than the cancer. So, while expected, it being cancer sucks. We'll figure out a plan in the next few weeks.

Surgery is tomorrow, report time 5:30am, surgery 7:30 (west coast time). Good news is I'm the first surgery so I don't have to wait for some indeterminate delay. Bad news is I need to drive 45 minutes for that report time. My wife is wigging out more about this than I am. Probably because her uncle had this procedure -- albeit in his 70s and a heavy smoker all his life, whereas I'm in my 50s and never smoked, but... um, he died during it. I presume his lung wouldn't re-inflate? Anyway, I don't expect to die, but wish me luck anyway, especially about the nodule being benign. Also the not dying part.

Cantlay and Matsuyama were the other two I was considering. So one of them will win. I think Cantlay has surprisingly long odds, I may bet on him.

Going on pedigree here, overall as well as Masters. He hasn't lit the world on fire since his return, but he played pretty well his last time out. Hard to pass on him in the 2nd round. I had two other guys in mind, I'm interested to see where they go.

Looks like I just upgraded to a three-bedroom apartment in your head. I also said this, in the thread about tariffs: You guys were OK having a brain dead POTUS for years; let's wait more than a few days to see how this shakes out. That being said, if he really wants to make these permanent, which I truly hope not: the idea of setting tariffs based on trade deficit is really dumb; I'm not sure where he got the idea or who if anyone is advising him on this.
