  1. Tim thinks that because he believes it wouldn't have impacted the election, it's OK that media outlets, sometimes at the... suggestion of the FBI, suppressed the story.
  2. Oh, that. I guess "big issue" means an issue worth resolving. If it is as infrequent as you assert, it shouldn't affect too many trans kids. I also don't understand your comparison to women's health issues, or why you believe that if issue A is more important than issue B, then issue B should not be addressed.
  3. I didn't see a question from you to me. Also, you bring up a good point about club teams, which have taken over the high end of a lot of HS-age sports, as I'm sure you know. Part of the reason my daughter stopped pursuing softball was she was at a point where she needed to strongly consider a club team, and neither she nor I liked the vibe of the teams around here.
  4. A few things. Since you didn't source your data, I looked it up. According to a CDC survey, 3.3% of high school students identify as trans, with another 2.2% questioning. https://abcnews.go.com/US/3-us-high-schoolers-identify-transgender-cdc-survey/story?id=114619209 That's one in 20 to 30 students. As such I'm incredulous at your "only five" data. How many kids are on a track team? Soccer team? That is backed up by the number of threads here about it. Your take on it, and the attempted diversions of Lefties who don't like to confront the topic, is to pull the "yet another trans thread$#@!" card. But, it's not like people are making up the contents of the threads in question. Have you asked yourself how there can be so many threads on this topic, if it is as rare as you assert?
  5. Neither, he is his own special self. He lives in CHAZ or thereabouts near Seattle. I believe @DonShas had beers with him. Amazingly, we do occasionally get new people. I have no idea why...
  6. Welcome back Tim, we missed you! Well, I missed you, I enjoy our discussions. I noticed you also have posted quite a bit in the Signal/Houthi thread. Are these both examples of your desire to return to support Trump and your general center-right politics?
  7. No need to apologize, this is a discussion bored, your input is welcome.
  8. Well, I have two daughters, thankfully both in their 20s so they don't have to deal with this in school. Both are athletic, and one in particular could have gotten a college softball scholarship had she chosen to stick with it. The other did competitive dance, which probably wasn't under attack by doods wanting to be girls. Basically, I'm waiting to hear from somebody who has daughters who compete athletically, who doesn't think this is a big issue. Otherwise, we have this situation where you folks on the left say that trans guys in womens sports are so rare as to not be on the radar, yet you complain that there are too many threads about how often it seems to be happening. A conundrum wrapped in an enigma, some might say.

    ***Wagering thread***

A few baseball comments: - I'm going to opening day, DBacks vs. Cubs, tomorrow night. We try to go every year. Woot! - Zac Gallen tends to suck in the first inning, then get his ish together for the rest of the game. My advice is if he lets in a run or more in the first inning, do a live bet on the DBacks spread afterward. - I usually pound strikeout unders early in the season. Teams always err on taking starters out early, so they don't get an owie. I haven't looked at the basketball yet; will do tomorrow.
  10. Do you have daughters? Same question as I just posed to Rusty.
  11. Do you have daughters, Rusty? I'm guessing not. I remember you having sons, but not daughters. If you had daughters, I would find it hard to believe that you would be so flippant about this topic.

I don't know exactly what this guy does, but on the topic of humans trying to manipulate the climate: I could not oppose it more strongly. Our hubris in such areas may eventually lead to our extinction.

I think you are reaching with the first paragraph. Aside from the fact that the real classified meat was not discussed in that thread, it is unreasonable to expect a person at that high of a level to perform every low level task. While I've never had classified clearance, I've been in plenty of meetings with proprietary and ITAR discussions that were set up by admins. For the second paragraph, I've heard that as well, but since the administration seems to be in denial mode (or at least certainly was initially), it's hard to see who from the admin would have said such a thing.

I'm not a big believer in conspiracy theories, but I'm also not a big believer in coincidences. What I don't see being discussed much is the coincidence that the person mistakenly added to this chat is an Atlantic reporter with a long history of going after Trump, Russia Russia Russia, Many Fine People, etc. Like, of all the people in the world, this guy gets added? We're blaming Waltz, but did Waltz personally set up the chat? Or was it a staffer of his?

What is "a nearby Ted Cruz?" I'm sorry, I thought we were having a serious discussion, but I'm inclined to agree with others that you've hit DEFCON 1 with your TDS and lack the ability to be objective.

Pfft, Floyd put a gun to a pregnant woman's belly. Speaking of which, I'm listening to Ben Shapiro's case for Trump to commute the federal conviction of Chauvin. The official autopsy report alone provided so many examples of alternative causes of death that the guilty verdict was borderline criminal. And by borderline, I mean criminal. Fentanyl in system, another type of fentanyl, another type, all at 3X+ levels that would in and of themselves justify drug overdose. Arteries 90% blocked, meth in system. No signs of injury that would lead to death. Pathetic, but the Leftie animals needed blood.

So, Crockett specifically calling for the punching of Ted Cruz, arrested or no?

Is your position that we can't take action against speech which incites violence until that violence is committed? If so, that is like saying you can't take action against a person holding a gun to someone's head until they pull the trigger.

I spent most of my career in engineering and engineering sales, but I had a brief time doing management consulting for employee analysis. Our most popular tool was something called Predictive Index, a personality assessment (think Myers-Briggs, but better ). Several people here took it, as well as another tool we offered which measured mental acuity (similar to the Wonderlic, but better ). I mention this because one of the major axes of our analysis was a combination of detail-orientation and risk-aversion. I tend to measure on the higher end of this, and as such, I would never have made the mistake that Mike Waltz did. That being said, people who rise to the top of the management food chain tend to not have the same personality traits -- they are more willing to take risks and worry less about "implementation details." But I would expect the head of the NSA to have that ability, which I'm suspect that Waltz doesn't have.

Needs based entitlements like Medicaid dwarf any reductions you could get at the DOD, and CBFs drinking crap soda directly influences the cost of that program.
