    The Popester Has Left Us

You seem to be struggling with how this whole "chat" thing works. If you have a point, be a man and say it.

    The Popester Has Left Us

Technically, all you need to be Pope is a male and Catholic. I'd like to see Sarah instead of one of the more woke Cardinals. Also, Francis was the first Pope from South America I think? Regardless, it's probably Africa's turn.

weepaws is more broken than usual

    I'm not angry. You, on the other hand, seem angry. James 1:19 Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;

    Fair comment, I changed it.

Bless your heart, you tossed that gun 50 yards!

I never said I haven't called people retarded. I'm guessing three of those are weepaws, who is retarded. And @kutuluand I have a running inside joke to call him borderline retarded, because he is. What none of those do is call anyone's kid retarded. Retard

Oh, I followed all that. What I missed is where you explain why you reposted a tweet of someone calling Musk's child retarded. Reposting is tantamount to agreeing. If I reposted a tweet that wished NJ to burn to the ground during the current wildfires, I would be endorsing that message. Hopefully you learned something about the interwebs today, and stop calling other people's children retarded.

I guess not. Spell it out for me.

weepaws talks too much; he is worse than a fool Proverbs 29:20 Do you see a man who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him. Indeed Amen. Thanks

Nice, calling Musk's kid retarded. Stay classy, Gutter.
  12. Guess this EO didn't make the MSDNC talking points for you. I'm shocked. https://www.whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/2025/04/fact-sheet-president-donald-j-trump-announces-actions-to-lower-prescription-drug-prices/
  13. Yeah, I've heard that the Ring of Fire near the Pacific NW is overdue to blow. That or an asteroid are when, not if. If we don't destroy things ourselves in the meantime.
  14. This is how the world ends -- our hubris at trying to manipulate the climate. Well, this or a supervirus from a Wuhan lab errr.... wet market.

    Another Import Success Story *Minnesota*

Not killings. "Casualty." Can't offend the Somali voting bloc. Rest assured that if the guy's name was Cletus, we'd be calling it "killings" or "terrorism". What is a mass casualty event, anyway? Sounds like a Boy Scout first aid competition. "Use your neckerchief to create an ankle splint!"
  16. You are probably correct. I would expect that the persona of the average person in this debt is someone with poor financial acumen, combined with little ability to postpone short-term gratification. They are the people who, when their credit card maxes out, think the solution is to get another one. As such, they buy a lot of stuff, much of which they don't need. But yes, such purchases stimulate the economy.
  17. Man, this guy nailed it.
  18. Hmm, OK, thanks. How about complaining about Luigi being in custody? I mean sure, he is a rich kid who murdered a man in cold blood, but somebody somewhere has been oppressed by a health care company, and Taylor Lorenz thinks he's super cute!
  19. I'm confident NPR is using taxpayer dollars to create a scathing piece to that effect.
  20. Looks like Trump wants people to have kids, that's a terrible idea. What good are kids to a healthy and growing culture? Plus, they are an invention of the patriarchal oligarchy to keep birthing people down.

Cancer scientist retained by ICE halting groundbreaking discoveries

I do have cancer. What this person was doing isn't going to make or break my survival. It is a cog in the cancer-fighting machine. I'm not saying her work isn't important, but the work will continue. I am more concerned with the recent halt on funding to Harvard's medical research. THAT is a big deal, if I understand it correctly (I haven't been on the interwebs much recently).

Cancer scientist retained by ICE halting groundbreaking discoveries

Took some more blue pills I see. Is her camp denying these allegations? Didn't think so. Hit home why, because I come from a scientific background? I would never, ever presume to take any work product into another country, let alone a country in which I had a work visa, let alone what could have been a bioweapon. We recently had this Covid thing, perhaps you've heard of it? Of course, @Fnordthinks Joe Customs agent should have fined her a cup of coffee and sent her on her way. That being said, I'm not surprised that a lot of scientists object to it -- they overwhelmingly live in a pollyanna academic bubble, isolated from the real world, instead living in one where people just accommodate them. But it is a concern, as I don't want to see a brain drain of misguided scientists.

11 NFL teams have never had a Black head coach

Regarding DEI: The Cards have had two black head coaches -- Denny Green and Steve Wilks. They also tend to be a progressive leader, having had the first woman coach (okay, unpaid intern I think). Green was a known commodity. Wilks... was epically bad as a HC. Not just Ws and Ls, but he always seemed like a deer in the headlights, sucking in front of the media and generally playing checkers while opposing coaches were playing 4D chess. It's hard to imagine that he aced a series of interviews so well that, simply on his merits, he came from outside the organization to be the choice for coach. I've always suspected there was at least a little DEI involved in that choice.
