    NGOs...let's start one.

Some tie to supporting Qatar seems like a slam dunk.
  2. The important thing is that Marissa was happy, not that their happiness destroyed fair competition for the other team. Also, it only happens 0.00000001% of the time so we shouldn't care. Except during championship weeks, where it seems to happen quite often.

Spermoff - no apologies, but still feel bad - CHECKIN

Ouch! Anyone remember @RicemanX? Asian guy who lived in SF. He posted about a suspicious white van parked outside of his apartment, even included a photo IIRC. I think that was the last we ever heard from him.
  4. It was a big campus for a major aerospace company. It also had a great gym with large areas for free weights, machines, cardio, and yoga classes. The company was very good to its employees. Even though they had downsized some, they kept these things running. Actually, now that I think about it, the corporate HQ was a few miles down the road, and I heard the president used the gym in the morning (I went in afternoons), so that's probably why they kept it open.

Have you ever apologized to a GF from your past?

This should have been the obvious direction for me to go.

OK, that's a different situation. If he basically ghosted you after getting fired (maybe he was embarrassed?), then saw you after returning to that company 25 years later... it might be MORE awkward if he didn't offer a little closure. My wife got ghosted before we started dating. He worked at another company in our industry, they went on a few dates, and had planned to go somewhere outdoors (lake maybe?). He just never showed and never contacted her. I couldn't imagine ever doing something like that to someone. Oh well, his loss was my gain.

    Hey Weepaws!

Yeah, I was going to say "new pron link."

Fire Attack on Isreali sympathizers in Boulder Colo.

This makes a lot of sense. One, it provides disincentive for the next "religion of peace" illegal whack job to stop himself from committing such atrocities. Two, it's fair to presume that these children were raised in an environment of intolerance and hatred for western culture.

    Hey Weepaws!

I see that weepaws didn't spend his time away learning how to provide links for his posts.
  10. I last worked in an office about 10 years ago, and I generally brought both. I was doing low carb so breakfast was usually two pieces of bacon and a hard boiled egg. Lunch was generally leftovers from dinner the night before. If we didn't have leftovers, I'd eat the cafe food which was actually quite good with lots of options -- they usually had a Messican station, pizza and maybe calzone station, roast meat and veggie station, as well as sammiches, salads, and a grill stations.

That's weird. He's gotta know you are married, right? Unless this is part of some therapy BS then I don't see what good could come of this.
  12. It seems odd to me that a person like yourself, from the party of protecting the minority and oppressed, would use the "but it's rare" argument. As I said earlier though, regarding sports, by definition more straight/regular girls are affected by sports competition than the trans person themself, since that trans person affects the multiple people in their event, over various scopes already discussed here. So I'm glad we can agree that trans women shouldn't be in women's sports. I don't actually feel strongly about the bathroom debate, and I'm not sure what the right answer is. I was merely pointing out that taking a dump in a stall is not the concern of the opponents. I'll also add that IMO the concern isn't as much from true gender dysphoria trans people, but rather from bad men who might take advantage of such policy.
  13. Here was your question: That's a strawman for the concern people have regarding men in women's restrooms.
  14. Gotcha. I guess my levity/snark meter was on the fritz. I think the "all" argument is a bit of a stretch, but also depending on your frame of reference. All female athletes can be impacted by males in their sports these days, but all women of childbearing age can be impacted by abortion... but all women of any age can be impacted by males in their safe spaces (bathrooms, locker rooms, etc.). Arguing this point isn't particularly important to me, so I agree, let's carry on.

    NCAA DI Baseball World Series...

Enjoyed watching ASU compete in the LA regional, even though they ultimately lost. Wife and I talked about catching a few regular season games next year, and maybe road tripping to a regional if they make it again. It looked like a fun atmosphere.
  16. I agree, it's a weird argument. "The guy only impacts one classification, so it's OK to screw that classification over." Perhaps I'm missing his point though.

Taco says Biden is dead, clone was president

I could see that. Although daring Trump to do something that you deem is not in the best interest of the country seems... interesting. Also, I used Behind the Overlay on your link.

    Any one on Reddit?

If I don't get the results I want from a Google search, I'll add "reddit" to the end of the search phrase to hone in on those. This is usually for how-to stuff, product reviews, etc. Never political crap.

    ***2025 EdEx The Memorial***

NP on the payment method or timing, whenever you get to it is fine. And whatever you prefer for payouts/ins next year to make it convenient is fine. Also, please don't edjr on us next season. Your current season seems like one long string of bad beats. None of us is a super genius on this stuff, but somebody has to lose, and this has been your year.

Taco says Biden is dead, clone was president

Hmm... it is unusually creative for the sky-screaming woke Lefties, given the "Taco" thing. For now I'll let it pass. I'm not sure what to make of "Taco" in general though. It does allude to specific behaviors of Trump, but in calling him that, is the Left saying he shouldn't have chickened out on the tariffs? I thought you guys opposed those and would be happy that he backed off.
  21. Long ago, on a discussion of abortion, I introduced the concepts of "infinity-minus" and "zero-plus," which actually came from my engineering world. Abortion advocates are infinity-minus -- their default is that abortion is legal, but we can carve out situations where it is illegal. I fall into the zero-plus camp, which is the opposite, because I oppose abortion for convenience. Theoretically you could arrive at the same point with each approach, but it is unlikely, and each is a different mindset. The point being that while I oppose abortion, I recognize that there are cases worth discussing its legality. This approach shows empathy and a willingness to negotiate solutions in good faith. I've had a lot of successful business negotiations with this approach. Back to trans, I tend to fall into the zero-plus camp as well regarding the privileges of their chosen gender, to use your phrase (which I like). Obviously, trans advocates like Squissy here are infinity-minus. But I do it from a backdrop of recognizing the reality that some small number of people truly have gender dysphoria. From this backdrop, we can have productive discussions with the infinity-minus folks regarding questions like: what do we do with such people? What is truly in their best interest? How do we merge that into a functioning and safe society? What about children? I find this approach much more productive and easier to defend than a staunch "zero" stance.

So your big win is that Trump said some less than glowing words about a clone with cancer?
