  1. Funny that Mr. Spreadsheet doesn't have this in his database. There are at least a dozen posts of you after this post, which was in response to you, accusing me of saying that giving margaritas to prisoners is common in El Sal. Each post of yours probably not a lie, more likely stupidity on your part. And each a big L for you. I will enjoy my W's tonight.
  2. It's not semantics. Those are entirely different things. You are just two dense to see the difference. And in this same thread, after I said what I said, I posted that I looked it up and margaritas are NOT common in El Sal. That contributed to my saying that I no longer believed he was given a margarita. I know you know this because you've been reading through this thread desperately trying to find where I said your lie. You haven't, hence the "semantics" accusation. My behavior is called being objective, Mr. Moderate. There is no L in that. You, however, have dug your yip yip dog teeth into a retard lie you made up in your head and can't let go.

Who are the Geeks rooting for in the 2025 WS ?

This is another dilemma. Betts, Ohtani, Freeman, all are likeable guys. Still can't root for them though. We have a second TV on a wheeled cart that is currently in our family room and will largely stay there through football/basketball season. I wanted to mount a second TV on the wall during our remodel (so that we could have 3) but my wife vetoed. FWIW she is a big sports fan but thought it was excessive. But tonight at 6PM, we'll have 4 games we want to watch: Michigan (her alma mater), ASU (our local/shared team), the WS, and The Phoenix Suns. ASU will get first priority. WS will probably draw the short straw. Game flow will dictate which of the other two get the second TV I expect.
  4. No gymnastics. You misinterpreted what I said, thought I said it is customary to give prisoners margaritas in El Sal, and have been going full retard about it ever since. Learn that lesson, take the L, and move on.
  5. Close. The first part is right. The second part is not "serve them," as in regularly, but "served specifically to THIS PRISONER who was visited by a US Senator and media as a show that he is being treated well." You said I said: That's a lie. If you see the differences between these, you'll take the L. If not, I can't fix stupic, Forrest.
  6. Thanks, I didn't know Bukele said that about El Sal. On #2, you don't understand what I said and I'm not explaining it again. I'll just leave it at: I said nothing remotely similar to it's customary to serve margaritas to prisoners. Carry on.
  7. Impressive job of both moving the goal posts and showing your lack of basic reading comprehension.
  8. Costa Rica? I'm surprised he didn't agree to Fiji or French Polynesia. Maybe the Maldives or the Virgin Islands.

U.S. Military Boat Strikes and Venezuela Thread

If I didn't say it in this thread already, I agree with Rand Paul and believe that we should not be bombing this boats. As he says, the intelligence is sometimes wrong, plus there could be innocents on the boats. That being said, I wonder how many other boats the Coast Guard detains in parallel. Are we bombing every such boat? Or is it only a small fraction? I'm not saying it's OK one way or the other, but I'm trying to figure out the motivation here.

    What's your most prized collectable?

Sorry. For others, it is a trinket, generally useless. I am of Polish and Slovakian ethnicity, and the word was common when I was growing up. Which was the 70s.

    What's your most prized collectable?

I'll interject a serious answer. Short answer is I wouldn't say I'm much of a collector. When I was young I collected baseball cards. This was the mid 70s, before it became a big industry. I'd buy a pack of cards with the gum inside when I had some money (I remember when the cost went from 10 cents to 15 cents, it was robbery!). I actually completed the 1976 Topps set that way. But we didn't treat them well -- we'd trade and flip our doubles, or stick them in bike spokes. Topps made cards in Duryea, PA which is like 10 miles from where I grew up. I had a cousin who worked there and occasionally brought me a pile. A lot of it was obscure stuff, like these stamp panels with 4 players each IIRC. I have no idea if they are worth anything now, but I'm pretty sure I still have them all in my attic. When Fleer and Donruss came out and it started becoming more of a business/investment, I bowed out. These days I sorta collect baseball caps. I only have ~30 and 1/2 of them are from (mostly) local sports teams, but increasingly I've been getting them on our travels. In the past 2-3 years I've picked up hats from Mount Rushmore, Bandon Dunes Golf in Oregon, the British Open, Skagway Alaska, Jerome AZ, and most recently from the Hudson Whiskey Co in upstate New York. I have a little sports memorabilia, but nothing super. A signed game bat from Geraldo Perdomo, signed football from Anquan Boldin. The DBacks love to give out bobbleheads so I've got several of those. The biggest things we collect are tchotchke from trips. We've been doing it since a trip to Rome almost 20 years ago. Something small, and the dumber the better. We also collect real art on trips, usually the larger ones if we see something we like. Most of the pieces have great stories behind them. I'd say it is the memories we are collecting more than the actual art.

[drobeski] it's hard to say, I won them all. [/drobeski]

    Pro-lifers…opinions here?

Discomfort is a level of pain. It sure seems like pain when a baby is wailing at the top of its lungs. Speaking of which, the baby in the OP post doesn't appear to be crying. And what if it had somehow lived? Stranger miracles had happened. Your answer seems like a rationalization for supporting abortion. Also, if pain is your reason, then the ability to feel pain developed in the womb, and a baby might feel pain when an abortionist sucks the brains out of its head.

    What's your most prized collectable?

[phillybear] Probably that first girl I kidnapped and tied up in my basement. [/phillybear]
  15. Great, I'm going to get eliminated by an alias, probably Rusty.

    Pro-lifers…opinions here?

Like I said, it's a tough call. And I do support euthanasia for people in pain with terminal illnesses. My counter to this though is that babies are in pain all the time, that's why they cry. And nobody remembers that pain when they are old enough to remember things.
  17. Good info, thanks. From your first link: I wonder why that is. Regardless, I'd say that between this and the lack of funding, Trump has deemed Congressional approval unnecessary. Also, if he went through the desired reviews, ground wouldn't break before he leaves office. Trump isn't a patient guy. Sometimes it is good to be "biased to action", but in this case, I agree with you blue haired sky screamers that Trump should have gone through a formal review and approval process. I do think a ballroom is a good addition, though. The richest country in the world shouldn't have to rent propane heaters every time the president hosts an event.

    Pro-lifers…opinions here?

It's a tough call unless you are avidly pro-life... or pro-abortion, I guess. Obviously the live birth and several hours were extremely emotional, and changes the dynamics of things. Charlie was officially alive, was named, parents got to hold him, to see him, to etch his face into their memories. They can have a ceremony for his death where friends and family can offer their condolences and support. I think I've convinced myself this was a good thing.

    FBI Uncovers NBA Gambling Scandal

I'm sure the NBA is thrilled this is all coming out during opening week.
  20. If the bolded is true and generally done, then i object to not getting it. Congressional approval for... funding? Or does congress have its own historical committee?
  21. Please. The east wing was a functional extension added in the last century; it's not some paragon of historical significance. It is mostly offices. If you disagree, please point to your apoplexy regarding Saint Barack the Perfect violating the sanctity of the office area with a basketball court! Melania is arguably the most stylish First Lady ever, but the public largely doesn't know it because the MSDNC doesn't talk about it. Instead, the MSM pines for the days of Jill Biden wearing plaid tops and striped pants.

    What is your #1 addiction?

Awesome! For some reason I thought you were still doing it. Glad to know you joined the rank of quitters.

    What is your #1 addiction?

That's gotta be better than chew though.
  24. Besides, my point wasn't trying to get you to see things in reality vs. your deep blue lens, but rather to laugh at the fact that you gave righties here a hard time for propping Fetterman on this, while earlier you called MTG a "hero."
  25. And that has the known effect of shutting down the government. I'm glad I could explain cause and effect to you.
