This didn’t age well -
Didn’t Trump countersue Carroll for the same reason and it was dismissed?

So you’re saying the “Bat Woman” wasn’t involved, considering she’s still alive (and I believe still in her same role)? I thought she was the main person that Ecohealth was working with.

An “aggressive and exaggerated handshake,” according to the police report

There is a middle ground between mass murderer and hero

I believe the amount sent to the WIV that came from US government funds was $1.4 million over a span of like 6 years. I guess I don’t know the total funding of the WIV, but Shi Zhengli was literally called the “Bat Woman” and was studying bat coronaviruses since 2004. So I’m pretty sure she’d be studying bat coronaviruses with or without US funding. In order to call Fauci a murderer, it’d need to be proven that the leak specifically came from a project the US was funding. But hey, at least @jonmx is admitting that Covid was real. That’s progress.
-
No, @jonmx did. RealTim simply said he thought most women (in general) are telling the truth about being raped, but this woman was a rare example that didn’t. Jon then replied and added the “prominent” qualifier.

Both sides live in an echo chamber -
This link does not talk about HFCS vs cane sugar. To your first point, from the link @The Phantom's Phantom posted, which was also from Healthline: the most commonly used type, HFCS 55, consists of 55% fructose and 42% glucose and other sugars. HFCS 55, primarily used in soft drinks, is similar to sucrose (regular table sugar), which is 50% fructose and 50% glucose. HFCS 42, which is used in processed foods, cereals, baked goods, and some beverages, contains 42% fructose (2Trusted Source) … In your digestive system, sugar is broken down into fructose and glucose — so corn syrup and sugar end up looking exactly the same. Gram for gram, HFCS 55 has slightly higher levels of fructose than regular sugar. The difference is very small and not particularly relevant from a health perspective.
-
You’re moving the goalposts. I agree it’s bad. I don’t agree that it’s really any worse than cane sugar.
-
Can you link the studies referenced? The “blog post” I linked (from a PhD) acknowledges that studies have associated HFCS with obesity. But my understanding is that the studies did not compare HFCS consumption to cane sugar consumption.
-
Are you saying Coca-cola isn’t bad for you if it has cane sugar instead of HFCS?
-
Too much of any added sugar is bad. Thanks for agreeing!
-
Good article here, but please feel free to share why you feel differently: https://www.cooperinstitute.org/blog/is-high-fructose-corn-syrup-really-any-worse-than-any-other-simple-sugar
-
So you don’t think RFK needs to “make America healthy again”?
-
High fructose corn syrup lol. That’s way down the list of concerns with our food. Sugar is sugar
-
This is kinda the crux of my argument for calling it semantics. IANAL, but defamation requires damages. Is there really any damage by saying someone is a “rapist” vs “sexual abuser”? @Engorgeous George?

Luigi certainly seems to be an example of “pretty privilege” -
I think 2-11% would still qualify as “rare,” but I guess that’s a matter of opinion. I’d agree that the percentage goes up for “prominent” cases, but I don’t really believe it’s 50%. I’d guess about 30%.
-
What about her boyfriend that she murdered?
-
Your previous post was worded poorly. You were talking about false allegations but then apparently switched to legitimate allegations without clarifying that. HTH
-
So not “millions” like you claimed earlier? Or are you claiming here millions of actual rapes are swept under the rug?
-
Looks like RealTim’s initial claim was not specific to “prominent” rape allegations, @jonmx was the one that moved the goalposts. @jonmx, do you believe the 2-11% number as a whole? If so, I think minimum 89% would still qualify as “vast majority”
