Well I think you answered your own question here by noting that their elections are often postponed. Prior to 2006, they had one in 1996. So it’s now been twice as long as between their last 2 elections. They can not be considered “duly elected” anymore. Nice attempted goalpost move by claiming ”they’re duly elected unless they’re breaking a law” though. Kim Jong Un is probably a fair comparison. He’s the “legitimate” leader, but he wasn’t duly elected either.

Yeah if that didn’t happen I’m not sure this story gets as much press (I’m sure righties would say “but if the races were reversed it would have!” which there is no evidence to support). But that’s interesting IMO since it was literally 1 punch from 1 guy, yet the narrative about the fight as a whole is about the “angry black mob.”

You know damn well the “1/3 culpability” opinion was only about the state of food in Gaza. The only “evidence” Abrego Garcia is in a gang is hearsay from criminals, some of which are being offered deals for their cooperation. The evidence of aid seekers being shot is far better than the evidence Abrego Garcia is in a gang, be serious.

Maybe they’re still “legitimate,” but the phrase that I took issue with was calling them “duly elected” despite most people that live there not even being alive the last time they won an election. HFCS vs Sugar is more of an actual debate, I agree. But my most recent post wasn’t about that it, it was about sugar vs aspartame (or other artificial sweeteners). Sure, diet soda may not be “healthy” for you in the long run, but it’s not nearly as bad for you as drinking a regular soda even if it has cane sugar.

That’s a fair question. I’d say a good starting point is less likely to make you fat. Multiple studies show diet soda is significantly less likely to do that vs regular soda.
