Good centrist analysis here. TL/DW: the initial intelligence assessment was based on some shoddy information, but when they ultimately did the investigation it turned out to be justified. Of course the ends shouldn’t justify the means so that’s still wrong, but not something that comes close to being able to be charged with treason for. And the timing of this is clearly meant to distract from Epstein.

I believe most possible charges have passed the statute of limitations except for treason. If someone gets charged with treason for this I will eat a hat

I think it can probably be trusted as long as she doesn’t get a pardon or reduced sentence in exchange for what she says. If she gets pardoned only a complete imbecile wouldn’t realize it’s because she intentionally didn’t implicate Trump.
