I don’t think so, but again, it was about “raising awareness”

Illegal Immigration and the Impact on National Home Prices

Have 900k illegals moved to Chicago since 2021? -
Wasn’t there a giant thread about how the exaggerated but “based on a true story” movie Sound of Freedom was one of the best movies ever and did an awesome job “raising awareness about human trafficking”?

Illegal Immigration and the Impact on National Home Prices

There were a lot of other factors in 2021 as well though. IMO the biggest being the supply chain crisis and resulting explosion in materials costs. Plus the Biden stimulus combined with most Americans having saved more than ever during the pandemic. Then the Trump vaccine becoming widely available and giving people hope that things would quickly get back to normal, in addition to a job market that bounced back quickly after the beginning of the pandemic. I’m sorry, I’m gonna need more than “but a lot of illegals came here!” to convince me that a bunch of folks competing for the lowest possible cost housing is going to have much impact on many areas having median home prices of $600K+ -
Like what Abrego Garcia is accused to have assisted with, correct?

Israel attacks Iran UPDATE: Trump claims a cease fire among all countries

@jerryskids, you may find this interesting, kinda reminded me of our conversation including some of the same topics mentioned. While Kirk has said a lot of despicable things, I thought he did a good job moderating this debate. Overall they both seemed to know their stuff, but the pro-Israel dude did stoop to name calling more often. I thought the anti-Israel dude brought up an interesting analogy about the “BuT hAmAs UsEs HuMaN sHiElDs!” argument…that’d be like if someone robbed a bank and took everyone inside hostage, and in order to stop him we just blew up the whole bank. I don’t think many people would support that. So he correctly called out the hypocrisy of people claiming to be “pro-life” but being okay with the murder of children as long as they take out some Hamas dudes at the same time. -

Well I specifically said it has some effect, so you’re starting out with a lie if you think I said “zero effect.” But yes, I do think it’s a bit down on the list of factors. But I’ll forgive you since you’re the only one that’s posted any actual data so far. I saw that article, but didn’t like that the link to the raw data was broken. It also states that that $25K is “over a decade,” so basically that’s saying they helped increase it by $2500 a year. So a pretty small part of the overall increase, and that’s in a city with some of the highest impact. I know real estate markets aren’t silos, but as they say, they are “local.” While a lot of people did leave cities during the pandemic, that’s still where most of the jobs are, so there’s still going to be a lot of demand. I guess you’re implying people left areas with a lot of immigrants who caused prices to rise in order to go other places? Sure, that may have happened, but that would have had to be a ton of people (and more than historically as there has always been migration of course) to really have much impact on a national scale. How about the fact that the insane spike in home prices started in 2020, when immigration was at its lowest? -

But you just said when they did “a day without illegals” that no one noticed. The two statements are inconsistent, it’s okay you can admit it. -

Weird that you call out RealTim, but not @iam90sbaby -
I don’t care about the movie. But I do find it funny that conservatives got all riled up by an intentionally cropped photo of people that were in the movie all along and were never meant to replace the dwarves. And even funnier that some of them, like @EternalShinyAndChrome won’t even admit they got duped.

Says the guy who started 3 threads about Snow White lolololol
-
lol peefoam started 3 different threads about Snow White (me: zero) Multiple others started by other posters, including @Maximum Overkill, @avoiding injuries, and @edjr.
-
Pretty sure it was a righty that started an entire thread about Snow White being Hispanic
-
Are you a teacher?
-
So you said you were going to stop engaging with me, but then you start a thread about me? lol. You’re even worse than @BrahmaBulls claiming to “ignore” me but then talking about me every time someone quotes me.

There weren’t even 7 of the diverse people, genius….

This is why I keep bringing up Snow White (and the North Dakota thread for @Strike), because you think you’re right when you were so obviously wrong.

Serious question. I know there are some individual reporters that are, and I’ve also found the Breaking Points podcast to IMO be the best source for balanced coverage, but I don’t think they do anything in writing (except for Ryan Grim’s side project which is lefty). Typically, I try to find the primary sources discussed by the media site talking about a story, since the MSM will often add interpretations that contradict the actual sources (people like @RLLD and @Strike have fallen for this for example), but that’s not always easy to do. Overall what I’ve found is that the left-leaning sites will usually at least report on most stories, but will put their leftist spin on it. On the other hand, I’ve found that Fox News and NY Post will often (not always of course) just flat out ignore many stories that might make Republicans look bad, such as a lot of the instances of people being detained by ICE/refused re-entry to the US for questionable reasons, Not great, especially when many on the right will only look at their preferred sources and flat out dismiss anything coming from a lefty site without reading it. Of course there are more lefty sites in total, so there are likely some of them that will do similar, but maybe you’ll just have to find it on a different site. So yeah, as a centrist I would love recommendations for sources of unbiased news. Go!

Covid and the resulting increase in both the demand for SFH’s due to covid restrictions and the ability to work from home which created more demand nationally, as well as the resulting supply chain disruptions, which were really the main reason for the massive increase in home prices in general. The multiple covid giveaways from both Trump and Biden didn’t hurt either. Also, a lot of the illegal labor was already here before Biden. They’re of course not just deporting people that came in during Biden.
