L.A. ICE thread: US Marshal and an undocumented immigrant were shot in an L.A. immigration raid

Wait, people actually believe border crossings are at zero? -
@RLLD must still think it’s the worst economy of the lower classes’ lifetime

Bump

It is, but I think the politically correct word is “networking”

Kilmar Abrego Garcia Thread - Hearings on human smuggling case Dec. 8-9
TimHauck replied to squistion's topic in The Geek Club
Sure I guess that’s theoretically possible. “Likely” though, absolutely not. 1) He has a family. So either whoever helps him go into hiding will need to help his family go into hiding also, or he’d need to leave his family. 2) He’s extremely recognizable at this point. If he did go into hiding he could pretty much never show his face. And if he skipped out on his trial you know the administration would turn over every rock to find him -
Someone hiring their buddy over the more qualified applicant, for example.
-
I agree. But I don’t think we’re quite there yet.
-
You SHOULDN’T need DEI, but while it’s much better than in the past, there are still a lot of racists out there. Like you, apparently
-
Overall, no, it’s not.
-
If the person is qualified, using DEI as “a basis to hire or advance anybody” is not racist. Again, the purpose of DEI is to give people a fair shot that may not have had one previously. But again, I know some companies took it too far. But it’s not surprising to me that a forum which contains multiple admitted racists (not saying you are one) thinks workplace discrimination against minorities doesn’t happen…
-
Yes, I believe he’d pick a lesser qualified white person over a more qualified black person. And I bet he’d admit it TBH. He’d probably rationalize it by saying some nonsense like he’d be afraid the black person would steal money or his girlfriend from him.
-
Lol, I know you don’t actually believe this
-
So let’s say @iam90sbaby is a hiring manager and is looking into a bucket of resumes. Do you think he’s going to scoop out one that is named Jamal?
-
I literally posted the definition.
-
Nope. See my reply to @jonmx above
-
Nope. Some companies took it too far, but that is not the purpose. The purpose was to make sure everyone was given a fair shot (and I know @Strike will be in here shortly to say “not giving everyone a fair shot is illegal!!”) https://www.dictionary.com/browse/dei DEI 1 also DE&I also abbreviation diversity, equity, and inclusion: a conceptual framework that promotes the fair treatment and full participation of all people, especially in the workplace, including populations who have historically been underrepresented or subject to discrimination because of their background, identity, disability, etc.
-
Agree. The concept of DEI as a whole is not racist, although I think the E should have stood for equality and not equity. It was intended to make an equal playing field for those that did not have one originally. That’s not racist, although some companies did take it too far. People like @5-Points and @BrahmaBulls trying to pretend that it’s libs’ fault if the phrase “DEI hire” is considered derogatory is hilarious. The reason the right is the side that made it derogatory is that they often use it after a person has failed at their job, like a pilot that crashes a plane. That is obviously derogatory, don’t blame it on libs.
-
What was the question?
-
The right is the side that made the phrase “DEI hire” derogatory.
-
Correct, this what Charlie Kirk said. @BrahmaBulls is a troll

Another day, another racist post from Charlie Kirk https://x.com/charliekirk11/status/1938631309930496221

We’ve come a long way with reducing Jewish discrimination

Weird that it’s usually the racists claiming Jews aren’t white. Funny how that works -

Calling European Jews and those descended from them Arabic is what’s retarded. I know you’re a sexist racist anti-Semite, but no need to deny reality. -
Is Elio woke?
