Two Dem lawmakers shot, one dead in MN

    Literally 10 minutes later: Lol
  2. Well first of all I only said “I think,” so I don’t care all that much about it. But here’s some interesting data although a bit dated showing an extreme conservative lean for workers in the contraction and agriculture industries. I’m sure you’ll say “yeah but what about the owners only?” to which I’ll go back to my original point, if we can agree that conservatives are more likely than liberals to work in those industries in the first place, then Occam’s razor would tell you they’d also be more likely to eventually get to company ownership. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/charts-show-political-bias-workers-215100215.html
  3. So safe to assume your friend will need to raise prices if there are no illegals left to hire? Do you/he think he will then have less demand for his work? On that note, that answer is kinda BS IMO anyway. He doesn’t “have to” hire illegals, based on everyone who “voted for this,” there should be a demand for people to pay more to use a company that doesn’t hire illegals. Oh that’s right, MAGA doesn’t usually put their money where their mouth is.
  4. That post I quoted was from last week, so I remembered reading it off the top of my head when I made the original post (and thus it wasn’t hard to find). If you only meant 2016 then I apologize for misinterpreting it. See how easy it is to apologize for being wrong? Maybe you can try next time, it probably won’t be long.
  5. Did you vote for him in 2020 and 2024 but not 2016?
  6. I honestly don’t know. I know there have been workers here that only spoke Spanish, but I’m not a racist so I don’t automatically assume they were illegal.
  7. You live in an apartment, you don’t know how hiring contractors works. When you hire a contractor, you usually meet with the owner of the company (or someone on their sales team, often their wife but nearly 100% of the time an American citizen) first. And I’d estimate about 80% of the owners of companies I’ve received estimates from are white males. Then, the owner of the company usually hires workers that do the actual work. I suppose you could ask if they hire illegals, but I’m sure most (even conservatives) don’t.
  8. That’s fine. Just don’t pretend it’s only Democrats that “don’t want to get rid of their slaves.” Of course Trump himself has also spoken highly of them
  9. I think they’re less likely to, because they’re less likely to have been involved in those types of trades initially. Greater than 50%
  10. I see Fox News is starting to run with the story about the pot farm owners “donating to Act Blue!” But at least one of them has donated to both Dems and Republicans. They’re of course also in California where more politicians are going to be Dem, this seems similar to SBF in that they probably just donated to people they thought would help their business, regardless of political party. I do think it’s interesting the owners say they didn’t “knowingly” hire illegals but then definitively stated they didn’t hire any minors. Seems like they’re basically admitting they hired illegals there. The photo I saw of the “children” didn’t look like they were particularly young, but probably some in the 16/17 range. Nonetheless, hopefully they are safe.@RaiderHaters Revenge is it true you need to be 21 to work on a pot farm?
  11. Would you agree that a lot of owners of construction and landscaping companies that hire illegals likely lean Republican?
  12. Libs don’t know how to do manual labor, amirite?
  13. I don’t knowingly hire any illegals. But I would venture to guess that the majority of owners of companies in some of the industries that use illegals the most, like construction & landscaping, lean Republican.
  14. Well, at least you acknowledge that the civil war was primarily about slavery, unlike some here.

    Texas flooding terrible, tragic

I’m trying to find some more information on this Austin Fire Chief Joel Baker story. Kinda sounds like Bob Nicks, the author of the Facebook post, has an axe to grind. He also hasn’t been shy about talking to the media in the past. Chief Baker says he was not made aware of any requests for deployment until 7/4. And in fact when that happened one was for an assistant chief who apparently chose on his own not to go… Still, the mayor of Austin said he spoke with the Chief of the Texas Division of Emergency Management, who characterized Austin’s response as “above and beyond.” What is being claimed as the “denial” of the deployment is actually an email from way back on June 6th (originally from someone above Baker) where Baker said not to go “anywhere.” In hindsight after a 100-year flood hits the state, probably not the best wording, but people are trying to make it seem like he said no to this specific request when there’s no evidence that’s what happened. And in fact even Nicks only claims that “some AFD personnel” had received that request, seemingly directly and thus backing up the Chief’s claim. BUT BUT DEI!!! (Coming from the side telling people not to politicize this tragedy…) https://www.kxan.com/news/local/austin/austin-fire-chief-defends-response-after-accusations-of-delaying-help-for-kerr-county-flooding/
  16. Stephen Miller said definitively that Abrego Garcia was a terrorist, and the worst charge they could come up with despite bribing a convicted human trafficker to testify was “human smuggling” (not trafficking). IANAL but I think that’s a good case for defamation. The only dog and pony show going on now is the trial. They could have deported both him AND the convicted human trafficker that they’re letting roam the streets, but instead they let a worse criminal go simply to try to own the libs. Does that concern you at all? I’ll eagerly await your non-answer.
  17. I’m really not looking forward to paying via taxes for the defamation suit that Abrego Garcia’s wife will likely file. Someone call DOGE
  18. Yay, finally someone actually bothered to look at the data. This is the reasonable response I was ultimately expecting, thank you Jerry. That is correct, but it still shows an increased priority on non-criminals.
  19. False. Trump’s ICE stated that they know who they are and most had been placed with sponsors.
  20. @Strike has said he didn’t even vote for Trump, but backs everything he does. Lol
  21. Says the guy who: -fell for fake news about the Georgia shooter and countless other topics -claimed the New Orleans terrorist was an illegal -thinks CNN never discloses names or pictures or criminals if they’re black -thinks “could care less” is proper grammar -whose go to porn website is gaywebcam.com (NTTAWWT) -thinks Hunter Biden d1ck pics should have been allowed on Twitter among many other stupid comments you’ve made. All you have on me is one stupid comment from like 2 years ago, which I admitted was stupid. The next time you admit you were wrong will be the first, I guess that’s why you (and @EternalShinyAndChrome and @BrahmaBulls) stopped engaging with me, since you can’t handle being wrong.

Elon says that Trump is in the Epstein files.

Conservatives big mad about this post from AOC and calling it defamation. But she didn’t name anyone (except Epstein), why do they automatically assume it’s about Trump? https://x.com/AOC/status/1943736675877658637
  23. “300K missing children!!” is fake news. At least they’ve moved on from RFK claiming that HHS was participating in human trafficking though. The number stems from this report, which simply says that 291K had not been served a notice to appear. That doesn’t mean they’re missing. https://www.oig.dhs.gov/sites/default/files/assets/2024-08/OIG-24-46-Aug24.pdf This report from March 2025 confirms that for one, as of January the number was down from 291K to 233K. And also confirms there is a “backlog” in issuing notices to appear, so it’s because they simply haven’t issued them, not because they issued them but couldn’t find the children. https://www.oig.dhs.gov/sites/default/files/assets/2025-03/OIG-25-21-Mar25.pdf
