Kilmar Abrego Garcia Thread - Hearings on human smuggling case Dec. 8-9
TimHauck replied to squistion's topic in The Geek Club
That’s what I thought, but that one word of course changes the whole meaning so wanted to confirm. Thanks for agreeing! I’ll take my W now. -
When they post links to primary sources that larger media outlets often ignore. Which I’ve come across multiple times.

Illegal Immigration and the Impact on National Home Prices
TimHauck replied to TimHauck's topic in The Geek Club
Inspired by your comment in a different thread, @jonnyutah can you share the source you used to determine rents were apparently tanking in “the southwest”? Here’s Zillow for example: National: -2.4% Phoenix: -3.4% (https://www.zillow.com/rental-manager/market-trends/phoenix-az/) Houston: +1.3% (https://www.zillow.com/rental-manager/market-trends/houston-tx/) Albuquerque: +3% (https://www.zillow.com/rental-manager/market-trends/albuquerque-nm/) San Antonio: -2.4% (https://www.zillow.com/rental-manager/market-trends/san-antonio-tx/) So I may need to take back saying I agreed with you, and you may not be right. But if you have data that says otherwise please share. The fact that rent appears to be decreasing nationally, yet increasing in cities like Houston with traditionally large illegal immigrant populations, is further evidence that illegal immigration is not a significant factor in home prices. And at best, you could maybe claim the difference in national trend and a particular city can be explained by mass deportations, but among most of the larger cities in the southwest, only Phoenix even has that (by 1%). And of course Phoenix is no stranger to real estate bubbles of which many (including @edjr I’m sure) believe we are in one that has little if anything to do with illegal immigration. -

Ha true, Bud Light meltdown was certainly a hissy fit. -
Israel Gaza thread- is the peace agreement still in effect?
TimHauck replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
Again, I have no opinion on whether or not he was Hamas, I just thought the comment of “nice house = Hamas!” was funny. Obviously I don’t think the fact that the IDF killed him means much one way or the other either. But I also never said he was starving, although of course it’s also possible that was an old picture. -

I assume he’s referring to past threads where people would say things like “I’m not going to enable mental illness by calling someone the name they want to be called!” I suppose you could debate whether something like that would be considered a “hissy fit.” But IMO more relevant to this thread is that @Strike did in fact throw a hissy fit about who he felt should be allowed to post in the thread about Charlie Kirk’s murder. I find it interesting that the same people (not necessarily talking about the GC specifically) that whined about others mocking Charlie Kirk (which I agree is bad) are some of the same people mocking this dead person. -
Tennessee man held on $2 million bond for posting a meme with a Trump quote
TimHauck posted a topic in The Geek Club
This was posted in a couple different threads but probably deserves its own. Blatant violation of the first amendment, and will likely cost this county a lot of money if he chooses to sue. He has been in jail since 9/22 with a preliminary hearing not scheduled until 12/4. https://www.tennessean.com/story/news/crime/2025/10/11/hearing-set-for-ex-tennessee-cop-charged-with-making-threats-after-charlie-kirk-death/86603733007/ -

He seems to have changed his answer multiple times. And if the answer is anything but there is zero chance that Abrego was served an alcoholic drink while imprisoned, it’s wrong. I know you also think he may have been served one, so no surprise to see another dumb take from you. -

I believe this is the judge that allowed the bail at $2 million. Based on her hair color she’d fit in with the Trump admin…maybe gunning for Bondi‘s job? -

Have we stopped the fentanyl epidemic by blowing up boats (allegedly) with cocaine? -

Yeah so I presume he’s not dead. Maybe got suspended for some reason? I did not report him btw. I did report @iam90sbaby though, f that guy, I believe the 3rd time in 18 years I’ve ever reported someone. -

Bump for Jerry. It’s still not clear to me what you think the chances are that Abrego Garcia was served an alcoholic drink while imprisoned. -

The joke is that in multiple years there has been a thread where some righties try to pretend fentanyl in Halloween candy is actually a major concern. Although IIRC @Hardcore troubadour was one of them and he has been MIA. -

TimHauck replied to TimHauck's topic in The Geek Club
I said it shouldn’t be allowed at all. I’m just saying someone that isn’t that good isn’t “ruining the sport,” that is hyperbole. Someone taking 6th at the conference tournament instead of 5th isn’t having their experience ruined. Now if she qualified for NCAA’s, then you can make that argument. I did. Diving. -
He never said he wants to globalize the intifada you liar, he specifically said he doesn’t use that phrase, but he’s for free speech and isn’t going to stop other people from saying it. Are you against free speech? And he did say he wants Hamas to put down their weapons. Stop lying. You’re almost as bad as the IDF.

While I agree biological males should not play women’s sports, this particular one was not ruining them. I can only find record that she competed in the conference tournament once, where she finished 12th out of 23 in one event snd 5th out of 20 in another. Her school only entered one other diver while other schools entered as many as 4, so she did not appear to be taking a spot from anyone. It was also a D3 school which doesn’t give athletic scholarships. https://athletics.middlebury.edu/documents/2023/2/15/2023-NESCAC-WSD-Results__Revised_.pdf
