White teen killed by black homeowner after ringing doorbell at 3am
TimHauck replied to TimHauck's topic in The Geek Club
Wasn’t trying to gotcha you, just pointing out that I still think Babbitt’s situation was comparable to someone trying to break into a house. Yes if you think someone isn’t justified to shoot someone breaking into their house or business then that would be consistent with thinking Byrd wasn’t justified in shooting Babbitt. But I’m sure there are many people here ( @Horseman probably one) that think Byrd wasn’t justified to shoot Babbitt but someone whose house is being broken into is justified to shoot the intruder (even if unarmed). Many here have consistently condemned the actual violence that occurred during the 2020 summer of love btw. -

My original comment was based on the claim that they were only ringing the doorbell. When I brought up Babbitt, in the previous sentence, I said “if they were kicking the door,” but you cut that part out of the quote. I tagged you because someone breaking into a house was the specific scenario I brought up in the Babbitt thread. You questioned the Capital being a house, but ended up asking about a business which I’d say is comparable to a house. -

Agree, but many conservatives did this during Biden too -

I think there’s still some details which are unclear. Most notably if they were “pounding” or kicking the door. As someone mentioned earlier apparently there are reports that one of the kids even somewhat acknowledged they had “broken in” to other homes. -

How is Ashli Babbitt breaking into the capital not comparable to an unarmed person breaking into a house? You could argue Byrd being a law enforcement officer could have used something besides a gun first, but you could also argue Babbitt is worse because there was also an angry mob behind her. -

Not sure, apparently there’s also a TikTok trend of kicking people’s doors so maybe it was even that - https://www.parents.com/door-kicking-challenge-on-tiktok-8745249 Too bad digby/ @F1erce isn’t still here to update us on the latest TikTok trends. If they were kicking the door, then there’s probably a good argument for self defense. Dare I say, similar to the cop that killed Ashli Babbitt ( @WhiteWonder) -

And yet the shooter has already been charged with second degree murder and is being held without bond. I’m curious who called the police, sounds like it may have even been the homeowner -
Speaking of recent government health appointees, I saw Vinay Prasad was named as the “top vaccine official” who I like. He was perhaps my second favorite commenter during Covid (after Jeffrey Morris). He consistently based his statements on real data. Some libs even called him anticovidvax which was stupid, he had the correct opinion that the Covid vax was beneficial for adults, but the myocarditis risk was real particularly for young men and it shouldn’t have been mandated, and questioned the need for boosters outside of the elderly. His was the analysis I shared in my “actual election interference in 2020” thread, where he made the case that Eric Topol may have cost Trump the 2020 election by leading the charge to push the vax authorization until after the election. Because true centrists such as myself know the Covid vax was a good thing and its authorization before the election likely would have gotten more independents to vote for him. https://nypost.com/2025/05/06/us-news/fda-names-oncologist-vinay-prasad-as-top-vaccine-official/ Tagging @jerryskids and @EternalShinyAndChrome because they think I never criticize libs.

In perusing x, it seems a lot of normal people nor right wing crazies actually like the new pick. Maybe that’s a good sign actually.

Let me know when you think of that term, because that’s what you’re doing. Well maybe you didn’t make it up in the first place, but you still believe something that’s been thoroughly debunked. Lololol Keep in mind the original claim that they were replacing the dwarves was based on 1 picture. Which was cropped to remove the 8th person, a normal looking straight white male. Which the scene of was still in the final movie. You’re the one making something up. I’m not desperate for attention, I just don’t like when people refuse to admit they were wrong. Which seems to be a common occurrence for you and a few others here. -
He offered to send the guy on a trip to Auschwitz and said all would be forgiven if he apologized. In the Stew Peters interview, he mentioned he was probably already getting expelled for something else.

That was the old one, appears she may have gotten nixed for being too pro vax. The new one focuses on “holistic medicine” and doesn’t even have an active medical license

I liked the first pick. I guess he let the MAGA mob get to him

I’m sorry, I still think it’s hilarious that @EternalShinyAndChrome still thinks the “7 diverse people” were intended to replace the dwarves even though the conservative mob cropped the 8th person out of the picture, lololol -

Yup that was my point. If the tattoos were “obviously” meant to denote MS-13 they would have been listed. -

True, I’d also like to ask the one judge if she’d still consider that cop trustworthy since he got fired, indicted and pled guilty -

I’d like to revisit the tattoo discussion for a second with a point I haven’t really seen discussed elsewhere. Here is the “gang field interview sheet” which is essentially the entirety of the evidence that was used in court leading the one judge to believe he was in MS-13 in order to deny him bail: https://www.justice.gov/ag/media/1396906/dl?inline Interestingly, the report included comments about the tattoos of one of the other guys arrested as being attributed to “Hispanic gang culture.” But there were zero comments about Abrego-Garcia’s tattoos. If his tattoos “obviously signified MS-13” as some claim, wouldn’t that have been mentioned, especially if the tattoos of someone else WERE mentioned?
