  1. Trump says we’re now in an “armed conflict.” Of course you’ll try to weasel out by saying “hE dIdN’t NaMe VeNeZuElA,” but have we blown up any boats recently that weren’t from Venezuela? But, specifying Venezuela specifically could still be coming: “We’re blowing boats out of the water in the Caribbean because they’re connected to international narco-terrorist groups,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said during a Judiciary Committee hearing last month. At the same hearing, Graham told FBI Director Kash Patel that Venezuela would be “a good candidate to be labeled as a state sponsor of terrorism under US law.” https://nypost.com/2025/10/02/us-news/trump-admin-says-us-in-armed-conflict-with-drug-smugglers-after-four-boat-strikes/

Fascist attacks on Individuals and Speech

I’m kinda curious if this was an actual “pride” flag, or just a rainbow.

Fascist attacks on Individuals and Speech

Fair, I was thinking this thread was more about speech but it does talk about other things as well

Fascist attacks on Individuals and Speech

This might be better served in the Chicago immigration thread
  5. The article cited by Fox News says it wasn’t.
  6. August actually wasn’t, according to the article linked by Fox News
  7. Were wait times down in August 2025 vs 2024?

    shooting at Ice Facility-Texas

Not a Candace Owens fan I take it? She was a big pusher of the “wHaT pErSoN tHaT aGe SaYs VeHiClE?” argument.
  9. Still laughing that “all time” = 8.5 months according to Fox News. Silly me for thinking Fox News was being honest
  10. @squistion only quoted part of my post. You made a sarcastic remark about comparing data to prior years. Well, according to the very article used as the source for the data, August 2025 was flat to last year. So yeah, @BrahmaBulls wrong again. Although I suppose you might say something stupid like “I didn’t actually say the numbers were down, just that it’s possible to compare!”
  11. Agree. Maybe a few less elite QB’s and offensive lineman, but the NFL should be fine at the rest of the positions.

Hey, can we delcare Oct. 20th "No Tims" Day

    I know, right??
  13. Here is the Fox News link - https://www.foxnews.com/travel/disney-attendance-plunges-all-time-low-2025-visitors-report-ghost-towns-parks Looks like the article is based on a Tik Tok video and a blog post. Imagine what Strike would say if someone posted a CNN article here based on a tik tok video and blog post? I actually think these Disney blogs can be good sources though (random TikTok videos, probably not). This one is the basis for this article: https://www.disneytouristblog.com/slowest-three-weeks-disney-world-2025/?utm_source=chatgpt.com First of all, apparently the “all time low” is referring to 2025 only, so that claim is in fact not comparing to previous years. Some other quotes from the article: August has been the slowest full month of 2025 to date, with a 28 minute average wait time and 1/10 crowd level. Those numbers are actually identical with last August, so in this case, flat attendance does correspond with flat wait times. Halfway through the month, September 2025 is poised to take the “crown” from August. This month is currently sitting at an average wait time of 24 minutes, which is also a 1/10 crowd level. Just a lower one. If this trend holds, September 2025 would be the slowest month since September 2021. That was back before the 50th Anniversary, amidst COVID cancellations due to the Delta wave and reinstated mask rules. It’s going to be a really close call. The second half of September is almost always busier than the first half, and we expect an uptick in crowds for the next couple of weeks for a variety of reasons discussed below. My bet is that September ends up coming within one minute of last September and October. So, August was actually flat vs LY. And the claim that September is “on track” to be the slowest month since 2021 is misleading as the article notes that the second half is historically busier than the first and it will likely end up similar to LY. At first glance I don’t see if they’ve written an update to how September finished. So, Disney isn’t going broke. @BrahmaBulls wrong again. Fortunately that indicates Trump hasn’t crashed the economy yet.
  14. I’m not sure this is the own you guys think it is. Basically means people have less confidence in the economy.
  15. Well his supposed February 2020 gun charge occurred while he had legal residency. And we still don’t know if that was ever prosecuted.
  16. Why do you think your tax dollars pay for my work?
  17. Fair point, I’m good with imprisoning murderers. I’m still not convinced this guy would meet RealTim’s definition of “violent“ though. “He pointed a gun at someone” is kinda reaching IMO. Thanks for confirming you believe Powell’s reporting now, lol. She didn’t say his wages were being garnished for child support btw, she said it was because of an unpaid debt.
  18. That’s quite the jump. No, I’m not saying we should stop prosecuting American citizens, I’m saying we should send illegal immigrants back where they came from, rather than spend taxpayer dollars to prosecute and then imprison them. Especially in cases like Abrego Garcia where we let a convicted human trafficker roam the streets so that he could testify against Abrego Garcia who wasn’t even charged with human trafficking.

@Meglamaniac is awesome! sorry, that actually was a lie.
  20. I’m good with deporting him. Hopefully they just do that rather than waste more taxpayer dollars trying to prosecute him criminally.
  21. Link to complaint - https://www.justice.gov/usao-sdia/media/1415901/dl?inline So he apparently was illegal between 2005 and December 2018, but received an employment authorization that was valid between December 2018 and December 2020. As I suspected, he had also applied for citizenship via his marriage to a US citizen. But his application was denied after “a failure to respond to a request for additional information.” The letter Roberts provided from the Texas attorney was apparently about an effort to reopen his immigration case, which didn’t happen (so still odd IMO for the lawyer to call it a “successful resolution”). But it seems the lawyer is saying Roberts didn’t pay them lol. Perhaps the nail in the coffin for him is that they found a copy of the deportation order in a car in his garage. Decent amount of new information in here. But nothing about anything that happened prior 1999. And unless I missed it nothing about the gun charge from 2020 either, or any charges other than the ones this month for that matter.

You constantly call me a POS and a liar, that’s not mockery and it’s not the truth. You sir are the liar between the two of us.
  23. Thanks for confirming there’s no chance they actually drank margaritas.

That’s one possibility. But the conclusion would really be from observing @Meglamaniac’s prior hatred.
