You don’t need multiple threads about it

    *** 2024 Summer Olympics ***

I’d suggest keeping the outrage over 30 seconds of a 4 hour ceremony to the other thread and keeping this one about the actual sports, but to each their own
  3. Santa Claus is making a mockery of the birth of Jesus.
  4. I wasn’t saying anything about or for Tim, but thank you for your concern
  5. Okay so you disagree with @Engorgeous George then, you think it’s a mockery because it’s being portrayed by drag queens?
  6. This is projection as you admit, but thank you for the reasonable response at least. So safe to assume if there were no drag performers involved but wearing the same outfits we would have seen the same outrage then? I doubt that, personally. And as I responded to him, the testicle thing is a red herring as that’s not why people were first outraged about it. I agree that is inappropriate, we also don’t know if it was even intentional. As for the rest of the argument, see my response to Engorgeous George above.
  7. Righties get outraged over the weirdest sh1t
  8. So not gonna answer? Even the one dude in the skit that thought it was the last supper said it was not a mockery
  9. No he didn’t, liar. You can claim he was lying, you are welcome to your opinion, but he specifically said it was not inspired by the last supper
  10. For the record I thought the Opening Ceremony sucked. The performances were mostly lackluster, although I’m sure the pouring rain didn’t help. I watched almost the whole thing and I didn’t even notice this Last Supper thing until all the righties got all outraged about it. I have previously stated the weird threesome they showed earlier on was much more inappropriate.
  11. Let’s go with it’s the last supper. Other than the exposed testicle which no one noticed at first, where is the “mockery”?
  12. One of those didn’t really. And to confirm, the guy who created it is “looking really really hard”?
  13. Well if some rando on X says it then it must be true! And even if it is, where is the “mockery”?
  14. The designer specifically said it was not the Last Supper, liar. One of the actors called it “the gay new testament,” but it looks like she was likely just mocking the outcry, not saying that’s actually what inspired it. Here is a quote from the article translated which quotes the other actor mentioned. He implies it was the Last Supper, but specifically said it was NOT “mocking” it: No one was dressed as Jesus, no one parodied him, neither in outfits nor in behaviors. The idea is to bring a new look. In the past, there have been a lot of representations of the table of the apostles and this has never shocked anyone. As if by chance, when it's LGBT and drags, it bothers. But we are used to it. People are obsessed with gender issues that bother conservatives. »
  15. Also probably worth noting of course that Jesus himself may not have hated LGBT folks. Amen
  16. No I don’t, but @nobody did do a good job exposing @Patented Phil’s likely hypocrisy on that subject.
  17. Uh, you literally just said you did. I agree the guy with his nut(s) hanging out is inappropriate, but that isn’t why everyone was initially upset about the supposed depictiion. Other than that guy, which again I bet most people didn’t even notice at first, I guess I don’t see how they’re “mocking” it (if we play along and say that’s even what it was depicting, which the artistic director said it wasn’t). If anything it would appear to be an appeal to inclusivity, I don’t see what’s upsetting other than the fact that the people in it are hated and discriminated against by many of that faith, but you are of course welcome to your opinion.
  18. Wireless company that nobody’s ever heard of trying to gain right wing customers
  19. Even if it is depicting the last supper, why is it upsetting? Because Christians think LGBT folks are sinners?

So a person tried to assassinate Trump

To clarify, here is what you said before. This is certainly a possibility, but it doesn’t mean he was a lib. As I’ve said many times in the Covid thread, Covid shouldn’t have been a political topic, and maybe it actually wasn’t for Crooks.

So a person tried to assassinate Trump

Moving this discussion to the appropriate thread. I was out of town last week so hadn’t seen this development. Here are the posts in question: 1. It’s not even confirmed to be his account according to the Gab CEO 2. I don’t really see evidence in these posts that he was a “Biden supporter” or that he was “spouting off against conservativism.” The only comment that could be construed as such to me is talking about undocumented immigrants having lower crime rates, but he backed it up with a study. I especially laughed at the Gab CEO interpreting the poster telling someone they were “stuck in their house” as “supporting Covid lockdowns.” To me that implies he was against them. 3. This Gab CEO dude seems unhinged, he keeps asking people to pray for him because he’s releasing these posts and claiming he’s being attacked by “the regime.” And in news that will shock absolutely no one, he seems to be a racist homophobe.
  22. Some LGBT people standing at a table is a “full frontal assault on Christianity”? Dang you’re triggered
  23. The leftist position in regards to the Trump shooter would be “he was a registered Republican, he must be Republican!” I’ve said he doesn’t appear to be either a Democrat or Republican, seems like the centrist take to me
