Two things can be (and are) true at once. 1. He was better during the state of the union than usual 2. He was worse during the debate than usual Now you can say that there were earlier (public) signs that could have predicted a performance like he had at the debate (kind of like @EternalShinyAndChrome just said), but that’s different than saying “he was always this bad!!”

Well I wanted to make sure you proved your hypocrisy (again), which you did. At first I was simply pointing out that you made a positive comment about his state of the union address, in response to those (not necessarily you) claiming he looked just as bad in the debate as usual. But his state of the union address was evidence that isn’t true, which you had acknowledged at the time.
