Has anyone besides Laura Powell reported this detail? Lol at Strike refusing to admit that other than one time, I vet my sources well (I actually already followed Powell prior to this).

I don’t know if the letter is legit, but of course the law firm isn’t going to admit sending it, because they may have screwed up. @nobody, you don’t think it’s possible maybe he thought it was resolved but it really wasn’t? That would answer the question I raised earlier about him working such a public job while supposedly knowing he had an order of deportation. I’m sure the response will be “ok then why did he run from the police?” which is fair to ask, but overall there are still a lot of unanswered questions here.

Also worth noting that in regards to this incident in particular that many on social media quickly jumped to the conclusion based on nothing that a Muslim committed this attack. Since the first thread here about it was deleted I don’t recall if anyone here did that.

C’mon this is a lie. I said to wait for the facts very early on when there were little facts available. I already said earlier as more was coming out that it wasn’t looking good. And of course from the very beginning I said it was possible he was a fraudster, which it looks like he was. There’s still some unanswered questions though. For example I do still think it’s not been confirmed that he overstayed his student visa. I saw some reporting in media articles claiming that he had a work authorization that expired in 2020 for example. I’m also just confused as to why he would even work in such a public role knowing that he had a final deportation order.

He didn’t provide it before being hired. We don’t know whether he completed it or not. We do know that according to the Des Moines board that he did complete it for them (presumably fraudulently), so I wouldn’t be so sure he didn’t complete it for the PA district as well. Occam’s razor tells you what is most likely, not what definitely happened as you imply.

I don’t think it’s fair to conclude they never received the docs. That was also at the height of Covid so there could have been delays with stuff like that. Iowa has stated they did have all the required documents, and completed the FBI check. Guessing he must have been using a stolen SS # or something.

Replying with that article alone was a bit of a troll, I did not mean to imply that the shooter’s motivation for the shooting had to do with MAGA, as I specifically said in the OP. But as I noted, hating Mormons probably isn’t incredibly unique among extreme far right folks. I literally said in the OP that him being MAGA may not have had anything to do with his motivation for the attack. But he was, in fact, MAGA. I just find the dichotomy interesting. If a tranny commits a mass shooting, it’s “tHe LeFt WiNg ViOlEnCe Is OuT oF cOnTrOL!!!.” If a MAGA dude commits a mass shooting, it’s “yeah but him being MAGA isn’t why he did the shooting!!!” The other interesting dichotomy is the number of posts on the subject. Likely Democrat mass shooters get probably 5x the posts as likely Republican mass shooters.

I don’t think it’s a “MAGA movement,” but I could certainly see some of the opinions from the shooter being shared by extreme MAGA’s, and IMO it’s noteworthy that the shooter did intentionally target the Mormon church, it’s not like he just went crazy and happened to be near the church. Not for nothing but things like polygamy for example probably wouldn’t go over well with folks like Harrison Butker.
