    This economy is so bad

Yes it’s CNN but here’s an interesting and seemingly well researched article about “what went wrong at Red Lobster” which came out before the recent store closures were announced. They apparently got bought in August 2020 by one of their seafood suppliers based in Thailand, that was basically just trying to make more money for the supplier and didn’t know how to run a restaurant. It was their idea to make endless shrimp permanent instead of a limited time offer which cost them millions and some think may have been the biggest reason for some of the store closures. https://www.cnn.com/2024/05/03/food/red-lobster-seafood-restaurant-bankruptcy/index.html

    This economy is so bad

It doesn’t take an idiot to figure out that in a time where there is a shortage of unskilled labor, adding more unskilled labor to the market will actually help inflation. It does take an idiot to think that because a more significant population increase in border towns contributed to an increase in rents there, that that somehow results in more inflation nationally.

    This economy is so bad

“There would have been inflation,” but Biden made it worse with the stimulus. But as mentioned elsewhere, I do find it funny that the same people saying the stock market doing great doesn’t mean the economy is great, are the same ones saying Disney stock going down means they’re failing. The first statement is correct, the second one is not.

If you’re going to argue semantics, he certainly didn’t say “women should have a career” (other than being a homemaker). He said “some of you may have successful careers,” very different. And that was of course right after he said they “had the most diabological lies told to you.” Then he said his wife’s “life truly started when she began living her vocation as a wife and mother” and “embraced one of the most important titles of all: homemaker.” You got us, he didn’t specifically say “women need to get back in the kitchen,” but that’s pretty much a paraphrasing of his comments on women.

It’s a city of 100k people focktard, it’s not very identifying. They weren’t telling people to go to his house, they were basically just calling out that he doesn’t live in Kansas City. Looks like he was “doxxed” by realtor.com in 2019: https://www.realtor.com/news/celebrity-real-estate/kansas-city-chiefs-2023-real-estate/

It was dumb to do, but it was just the city, not his address

I did skim back through this thread and did not see him post any data, so looks like you are correct in regards to this thread. Are you saying he has “never” posted any data? I don’t usually pay much attention to him but I would think he would have at some point? I am skeptical of much of the stuff people here claim about their personal lives, but I’ll give you his seem a bit more exaggerated than others.

I’m sure you’ll try to yell at me for “playing semantics games,” but there’s a difference between “supporting Hamas” and saying they “have a valid reason for fighting Israel.”

Lol you guys act like you never whine about what other people that have no power and are not running anything say. And good to know that women are now a “liberal group of the week.” No wonder you think they should all be in the kitchen.

You don’t think it’s notable that a Super Bowl winning player is disparaging gays and telling all women to get in the kitchen?

This was a great PR move by Benedictine College. I had never heard of the place before today. I’m sure they’ll be seeing an uptick in applications from the kids of sexist homophobes that think their kids will get brainwashed at other colleges

    Caitlin Clark debut

Fair enough. I didn’t realize that she did average over 30 in college last season so that seems like a reasonable number to actually increase WNBA viewership. But 20 in her first game a few weeks after getting drafted doesn’t seem so bad

Define “produces.” Jewel Lloyd averaged 25 points per game last year and I’ve never heard of her until I just looked it up right now

Harrison Butker apparently doesn’t know that. He thinks all women should want to get in the kitchen and accept Jesus as their savior.

    Caitlin Clark debut

@jonmx knowing which WNBA teams are good is not something I had on my bingo card. So do we think Clark will actually result in more WNBA viewers (even for just her team’s games) long-term?
